Pink
The prettiest soldier of Asgore's 7 Colored Flowers...
PINK!Pink, Chapter 5
Pink (JP: モモ Momo) is a Lightner-Darkner hybrid in Deltarune. Being the irritable ghost from the Blook house possessing an action figure of Mew Mew which turned into a Darkner in the Dark World, she acts as a shopkeeper, the Shadow Crystal boss of Chapter 5, and the final Shadow Crystal boss as a whole.[6][7] Pink can be found at her shop in the Cliffs and in a secret area in Flower Castle, behind a locked door that can be opened by buying the MysteryKey from her for 10 Pink Coins.
Defeating Pink allows the party access to the 7 Colored Flowers' hidden room, along with their items.
Pink's shop in the Cliffs has the following items for sale:
| Item | Price | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Flavigne | 333 D$ | Heals for 130HP. |
| WoodBlade2 | 500 D$ | A weapon for Kris. +10AT. |
| NetskieHat | 1500 D$ | An armor. +6 DF. |
| MysteryKey | 10 P$ | Only purchasable once. |
Pink dons a pink, short dress adorned with ribbons. She has cat-toy bells for earrings and light pink-colored short hair, and cat ears with a white colored inside. She also holds a pink-and-yellow colored staff used for attacking. She resembles a "Catgirl", which is popular in anime culture.
When split, the two bodies adopt two differing color schemes.
As a ghost, she keeps her cat ears, and her outfit remains the same, apart from a palette swap replacing the pink dress and hair with purple, and the staff becomes purple and white, along with her eyebrows becoming thicker and angrier, and her eyes becoming more simplistic. She can be seen floating around with a ghostly tail rather than legs during battle.
The now solo body alters her palette into a more ultra-pink hue, which also converts her bells and staff's yellows to pink.
When singing, she dons a pink kimono adorned with white roses and her spiky pigtails become hair buns kept in shape by cherry-blossom shaped hair pins.
Near the end of her battle, when a dating sequence is initiated while her ghost and body are in conflict, she enters a state in which her form is split, with the left side having the palette of the ghost form, and the right having the palette of the body. Powerful light shines out of her eyes and mouth, which flashes different colors as the sequence progresses, and green strings strongly resembling those of Spamton NEO connect to her fingers and extend out of the field of view.
Pink's Ghost - When the party first meets her in her shop in the cliffs, she's calm, serene, and happy. Being able to actually move the body she's longed for, rather than just possessing it, makes her relaxed in a way she's not been shown to be (as of yet) in the Light World. When speaking with Orange, she is kind, caring, and reassuring. However, after the party questions the place she's found in the dark world (since she's not a flower like she claims), she gets upset and irritated, and thus begins her battle. She is repulsed by the idea of dating anyone, as she is afraid of anyone else wanting her body more than she does. This hatred goes so far as physically attempting to stop her battle's DATE mechanic from happening, contrasting with her Darkner counterpart.
Pink's Body - It shows an intense love for dating, something that causes Ghost Pink great distress, and wants to keep the DATE going for as long as possible. It is loving and yearns to have the sorts of experiences that the anime catgirl it's based off would - like dating, going to school, and making friends. After the battle, Pink admits the body "still feels doki's[sic]" for Kris, until she is informed by Susie that they "flirt with every enemy"[8].
Ghost in Body - Pink's Darkner body is used as a vessel until they separate during the second DATE. The Ghost appears to be the one in control, but is constantly interrupted by the body's [implied to be] prerecorded voicelines. Pink notes that a difficult boss fight is no longer enough on its own, so she is using the body for her idol career.
Her English name "Pink" and her Japanese name 「モモ」 (Momo, from 桃色 momoiro, Japanese for pink/peach color) both refer to the respective colors.

Pink's battle is first foreshadowed in Castle Town in Chapter 5. If Seam is talked to after all Shadow Crystals have been obtained in the previous Chapters, they ask Kris if they still have the Mannequin and hint that it might protect them from the next enemy. If the Hacker is present in Castle Town, he makes a comment about "Roblucks"[9] and says: "Remember to obby for pink coins. Then it's catgirl time".[10] "Obby" refers to obstacle course games in the game platform Roblox, hinting at the platforming segments that must be completed to gather Pink Coins and unlock the boss fight.
Pink's body first appears in the Festival on Asgore's truck, near the Flower King shop. When inspected, Asgore explains it is an action figure given as a gift by an unnamed "sort of" friend,[11] implied to be Alphys, with who he shares a common interest in Mew Mew Kissy Cutie 2.[12]

While "Pink" is not involved in the main story of Chapter 5, she is the shopkeeper for the shop in the Cliffs and is a friend of Orange. Despite the two being unrelated, Orange calls her "Big Sis", while Pink refers to Orange as "Ory" (レンちゃん Ren-chan in the Japanese translation).
Near the top of Flower Castle, a pink door can be found in a side path. Opening this door with the key purchased from the Cliffs shop will unlock Pink's room, where Susie and Ralsei suspect they will find a powerful enemy. When they only find Orange, Ralsei lightly teases how it is "just" Orange, causing Orange to get angry and run off to Pink for backup. After Pink informs Orange to "never make an enemy when you can make a friend," Susie points out that the party already met all seven flowers, which causes Pink to immediately contradict this statement, reveal that she isn't a flower, and trigger the fight. After Pink is beaten, Susie will invite her to join Castle Town. She will also be joined by Orange in her shop and can participate in breaks to get to know the other flowers with the exception of Flowery.
Pink appears in the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S versions of Undertale as Mad Mew Mew, an alternative form of Mad Dummy that has inhabited an animatronic of Mew Mew owned by Alphys. In the Nintendo Switch version, she is a secret miniboss that can be fought in the Dog Shrine after the protagonist defeats Mettaton EX. In the Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S version, she replaces Sans in the Dog Casino after the protagonist defeats Mettaton EX.

Pink utilizes the purple SOUL mode. In this mode, the SOUL can only move on the purple guidelines in the background of the battle box. All attacks also include pink hearts that appear; collecting them heals 1 HP to all party members and gives 1% TP and max TP (up to 100%). Additionally, bigger hearts are present in later phases' attacks, granting triple the effects of collecting a smaller heart.
After the fifth turn in a phase, it loops back to turn 3's attack and continues in sequence from there. Once the DOKI meter is filled, a special date segment occurs in place of a regular attack the next turn, then the fight continues to the next phase's attacks.
Phase 1
Pink starts the battle in full control of their new body, attacking the player with no issues. After turn 4, her heart starts beating.
- Turn 1 - Cat faces slowly come from the right, followed by a trail of hearts coming from the left. More cat faces come from the right with pink hearts next to them, followed by another trail of pink hearts with cat faces on every other lane coming from the left. This attack has a base damage of 132 puppet/cat elemental to a single target
- Turn 2 - Pink throws up to three bombs on a 4×4 grid with increasing speed. Their explosions cover the entire column and row of a tile they land on. A bomb instantly explodes and deals damage if it comes in contact with the SOUL before laughing to herself. Pink bombs turn into hearts after exploding, which can be destroyed by other bomb blasts. Basic bomb attacks are not puppet/cat elemental, and have a base damage of 84 to the entire team.
- Turn 3 - Similar to turn 1, but faster and coming from both sides. Ends with a line of cat faces filling the bottom and top rows, followed by Pink throwing a fixed pattern of four bombs.
- Turn 4 - Same as turn 2, but faster. The final volley has four bombs.
- If Pink's doki meter is at 0, she will remark about the lack of doki before the bomb attack, and then the doki meter will automatically go up by 1.
- Turn 5 - The battle box turns into a stage, where Pink sings at the top while several dummies appear at the bottom and the sides. The dummies shoot damaging heart projectiles that spawn a pink heart when they hit Pink. This attack has a base damage of 132 puppet/cat elemental to a single target.
Date 1
Dates provide a scrolling list of options to choose from. Choosing the wrong answer, or taking too long to answer, deals damage to all members of the party and repeats the question. The attack concludes after all three questions have been answered correctly. The first question does not have a timer. After this phase is completed once, it is shortened to end after the first question.
| Answer | |

Yes |
| It's... because you think this body's CUTE, right!? | Yes |
| You... wish you never met me, right...? | No |
Phase 2
Pink starts to struggle more with her body at this stage.
- Turn 1 - This attack uses a 5-point plus-shaped grid, and has circles and half-circles approaching from all four directions. This attack has a base damage of 132 puppet/cat elemental to a single target.
- Turn 2 - This attack uses a 3D tunnel. Does not progress until the player presses UP to move forward, after which, electricity covers the battle box and the tunnel starts to slowly auto-scroll forward. Patches of electricity of various widths start appearing at the front, alongside arrow-like projectiles (<) on groups of 6 or 8 (maybe more) moving clockwise or counter-clockwise, as well as occasional pink hearts. This attack has a base damage of 132 puppet/cat elemental to a single target.
- Turn 3 - Like phase 1 turn 2, but ends with Pink throwing a giant cat bomb that covers all but one corner tile. Similar to the base bombs, the giant bomb is not Puppet/Cat Elemental. This attack has a base damage of 120 to the entire team.
- Turn 4 - Like phase 1 turn 5, but with a few red homing dummies that shoot dummy bullets in an arc.
- Turn 5 - Like phase 2 turn 1, but much faster.
Date 2
This works like the first date, but the three questions are chosen randomly out of the following. They consist of a pair of demands (one innocent, one vulgar) that have the same answer.

Phase 3
During the second date sequence, Pink fully splits from her body.
- Turn 1 - Similar to phase 2 turn 1. A giant version of Pink's ghost appears on the left and knocks the battle box after every group of circles, turning it 90 degrees clockwise. The SOUL's movement directions are not altered when the box turns.
- Turn 2 - Pink throws several volleys of four giant cat bombs that cover all but one or two tiles. Ends with Pink holding a giant cat bomb that explodes after she slides up and down a few times, blasting the top or bottom two rows depending on where she stops.
- Turn 3 - Cat faces surrounding two pink hearts come from left and right, while Pink throws two bombs at a time.
- Turn 4 - A harder, faster version of the 3D tunnel attack.
- Turn 5 - Like phase 3 turn 3, but with a different face pattern similar to phase 1 turn 3. Ends with Pink throwing 4 bombs and holding a bigger small bomb that hits the middle.
Ending The third date contains several "DIE!" boxes, and hearts. Collecting the hearts converts one of the boxes into a "Stop!", which collecting moves onto the next part of the attack. Hitting a DIE deals damage and resets the SOUL's position to the start. The second and third ones contains moving DIE! boxes and multiple hearts; collecting all hearts spawns the goal on the starting location. The last one contains a long path from the starting position to an "It's OK!" box, with DIE! boxes moving along the path, which must be navigated quickly by following the flow of the boxes.
In this attack, each party member will take 80, 40, or 10 damage if they are over 50%, in 25%-50%, or under 25% of their maximum HP, respectively.
After the mazes are cleared, there are 3 free turns for any healing before the final attack starts with 3 more questions. Answering wrong will only take away 1 HP.

Pink's fight progresses through using the various ACTs to increase DOKI to the required amount; 15 in the first two phases and 20 in the third. A few turns after finishing the third phase, the fight completes. FIGHTing does not deal damage, so the only use case is to give TP later in the turn compared to other actions (i.e. after LovelyBoy has activated).
The player's TP cap is reduced to 8% at the start of each phase. They can be increased using Ralsei's LovelyBoy ACT (which adds 14%) or by collecting pink hearts during Pink's attacks (which add 1% each). Max TP caps at 100%. As the ACTs that provide a lot of DOKI require a large amount of TP, it is worth focusing on this at the start of each phase. For example, if one were to use MegaFlirt and then Defend with both Ralsei and Susie, the overall TP usage (28%) would be less than MegaFlirtX (40%) alongside reducing damage. However, MegaFlirt requires more max TP to be able to use.
Since the fight progresses in difficulty, it is recommended to heal the party before performing the final ACT to fill the DOKI meter. There is no use for preserving TP, as the TP cap is reset to 8%.
Items can be used for Susie's ShareFood ACT, which gives 2 DOKI when using most easily purchasable items (like OrangeJuice). This can speed up the fight slightly, especially if used on the first turn of a phase where the low max TP makes it hard to do anything useful. This is unlikely to speed up the phase by more than one turn per phase even with multiple items shared, so sharing food should only be done if the turns saved helps more than the extra survivability that having the item provides. The full list of item effects can be found below but generally correspond to item scarcity.
While other party members are down, Doki gain when using the Flirt act is increased to 2 or 3 depending on how many members are down. This does not affect the Doki gain from MegaFlirt. This can lead to it being more efficient to Flirt rather than actually healing a downed party member, as the same amount of DOKI can be gained with less TP.
Many of Pink's attacks are puppet/cat element. Therefore, the Dealmaker and TrueTie are highly valuable for this fight. Although the Mannequin and FrayedBowtie can also reduce puppet/cat damage, their otherwise low base stats means non-puppet/cat attacks will hit comparatively much harder. As such it may be more worthwhile to equip high-defense items, such as NetskieHat, instead.
Since the battle cannot be won through FIGHTing, AT-focused equipment such as BlackShard, PowerBand, and PuppetScarf are wholly useless.

- Beautiful... beautiful. Beautiful!
- [What is this place? (Subsequent times)]
- Where I came from, the colors were bleak.
- It was like looking at the world through a napkin.
- Here, the sunset shines from the back of your eyes, like the afterglow of a light you stared at too long.
- Hee hee...
- [What's your name, human?]
- Right, of course, I'm also human. That's why I look and feel like a flower.
- ... then, what's my name?
- I suppose... it depends on the color of the sunset.
- [What's your name, human? (Subsequent times)]
- Names, names, names! That's what everyone always thinks about.
- But, what defines you is...
- ... well, it's your body, isn't it?

- Yes, you're nodding. Obviously you agree. Obviously.
- [Human ears? (Ralsei variant)]
- Listen, have you had ears before? Cute and fluffy ears?
- ... you should try it.
- ... not like you, long ears. Those seem like a fire hazard.
- [Human ears? (Susie variant)]
- Listen, have you had ears before? Cute and fluffy ears?
- ... you should try it.
- ... especially you, purpleface. How do you even hear?
- [Other people?]
- Asgore... he seems happy. You should be happy for him, too.
- Me? I've... never been able to talk to him. For... obvious reasons.
- I know. It's selfish, if you say it out loud. Everything... has been thanks to him.
- Until now, I... I couldn't really think about that.
- ...
- I can think now, though. I'll do my best to fit in and help, too.
- [Other people? (Subsequent times)]
- Up until now, I don't think I realized what loneliness means.
- Now, looking at the sunrise, I finally noticed it. That pang in my heart...
- ... I'm going to make friends here. I know it. Lots and lots of friends...
- [After defeating her, if Chapter 5's Egg has been collected, and the player has interacted with FRIEND in Chapter 5]
- (Suddenly, the shopkeeper's body took your hand, and talked in a low voice only you could hear...)
- Kris, is your hand okay? It looks like... you've got a cat bite, mew.
- Cats can be nasty creatures, can't they, mew...?
- ... I once met someone who REALLY liked cats, mew.
- They liked cats so much, they owned a whole hunting pack of them, mew!
- Of course, cats are fickle creatures, but they were very good at finding protein.
- Kris, if you have any protein, you must keep it hidden, and never let anyone see it.
- The cats are not too smart, but once they find a target, they never stop chasing it until they get bored.
- And when they find you, they bite... very, VERY, hard.
- Some people would do anything to get away from them, even change their appearance, or go into hiding...
- Oh, Kris, it's terrible, mew. It's terrible...
- Please be careful, Kris... promise...
- H... huh? Wh... why am I trembling? Was my body saying something...?
- Hey, don't have any conversations without me!! Communication is key, right, body! Body!?
- [After defeating her]
- I guess... I'll be "graduating" from here soon.
- I... I'm not just ready to leave my friends behind yet...
- But, is that something... anyone is ever ready for?
- [Talking again in the same shop visit after defeating her]

- Pink's overworld and face sprites are credited to Claire Belton, co-director of the farm life simulation game Fields of Mistria, with her sprites being in an identical artstyle. Toby Fox previously collaborated on the game as a guest composer.[15]
- In the console versions of Deltarune, if the player turns on dynamic borders, there will be a Mew Mew-themed border, with one drawing on each side. When the ghost and body split, the right drawing will switch to a gray Mew Mew with dots for pupils and sharp teeth, meant to be the irritable ghost herself.
- Similarly to her Undertale counterpart, Pink's design appears to take heavy influence from and likely is a reference to Mew Ichigo (aka Ichigo Momomiya), the protagonist of the magical girl anime and manga series Tokyo Mew Mew (also known as Mew Mew Power in North America).
- Pink's use of bombs is a reference to the mechanics of the Tokimeki Memorial franchise of dating sims, in which dateable characters will develop similar bombs above their heads if neglected by the player, representing their growing frustration with them. The background used in the dating sections of the fight also references Tokimeki Memorial's user interface.
- Pink stating she will soon "graduate" after she is defeated is a reference to idol graduations, in which the idol in question retires from their current position as an idol for another career.
- During the start of the match, she complains about the floral tea not being pink; she was told by a "bug" that it was fuchsia.[16] This is likely a reference to Muffet, an arachnid who used the exact same kind of tea in Undertale.
- Fuchsia is also the name of a genus of flowering plants.
- In the fight, during the 3 free turns before the final date, while Flirt ACTs have no effect on the glitching Doki meter, Susie's ShareFood ACT can still raise it.
- When Pink's Doki meter fills up in the first 2 phases, several items appear: a "REEL IT IN!" meter, a "POPULATION" graph, a clock which is always set to "SUND", a "CRIME" heat map and a Dog Radar. These are all references to Undertale, specifically Papyrus's date or hang-out, where all of these are present if the player brings up the dating HUD by pressing the [MENU] key. There are some differences, however:
- The clock that says "SUND" (for Sunday) is static and permanently set to Sunday with a sunny icon. In Undertale, this would match the time of day and day of the week the device the game is being played on is set to.
- Various dialogue within previous chapters, such as the Forgotten Man's schedule, suggest that Chapter 5 takes place on Sunday.
- Despite the dark world section of Chapter 5 taking place during the night, the icon used to represent the time of day on Pink's dating HUD is a sun. While this is inaccurate to the light world, it is likely meant to represent the Flower Kingdom's prominent suns rather than the current time outside of the dark world.
- Pink's clock on her dating HUD says "SUND", while if Papyrus's date is started on a Sunday, his dating HUD says "SUN". The extra letter was probably added to avoid confusion with the sun icon by specifically mentioning that the day is Sunday, rather than labelling the icon as a sun, due to the day and time never changing in her battle.
- Various dialogue within previous chapters, such as the Forgotten Man's schedule, suggest that Chapter 5 takes place on Sunday.
- Pink's dating HUD is missing an "EGG" which is present in Papyrus's date. The Egg also does not appear if collected in Chapter 5, which means the only fight in which an Egg appears in is still as Evidence within the fight with Blue & Yellow on the left path in the castle.
- The clock that says "SUND" (for Sunday) is static and permanently set to Sunday with a sunny icon. In Undertale, this would match the time of day and day of the week the device the game is being played on is set to.
- Out of the five Shadow Crystal bosses, Pink is the only one who is:
- Confirmed to be female.
- Recruitable to Castle Town (based on dialogue after the fight).
- Not beatable through FIGHTing.
- Various aspects of her battle seem to reference specific games and genres:
- Her bombs' four-directional explosions seem to reference the ones in Bomberman.
- Her "full doki" attacks are similar to Dating Sim and Visual novel games.
- Her tunnel attack resembles the gameplay of Tempest.
- Given the ghost motif and secrecy of the Shadow Crystal bosses, this could also be a reference to the urban legend game Polybius, which has been sometimes described as having a similar gameplay to Tempest.
- Her reaction to a DogDollar when using the ShareFood Act ("Wanderful!") may be a reference to the Anime Wonderful Pretty Cure!. One of its main characters is a dog whose catchphrase is "Wonderful!", sometimes stylized as "Wanderful!", which is a combination of Wonderful and わん wan, the Japanese word for a dog bark.
- Similarly to her battle theme, her laughter and battle cries were voiced using Hatsune Miku V3.
- Pink can still be damaged by IceShock and SnowGrave, but her HP still regenerates to full, unless it deals 7.000 or more damage in one attack.
- If Pink uses the singing attack while the vocal portions of Cutie Mew Mew Magic plays, her mouth movement matches the song.
- Pink's distinction of body and ghost as their own individuals who share one body that they can control either at different times or simultaneously is similar to some effects of certain types of plural identity like Dissociative identity disorder (DID) and Other and unspecified dissociative disorders (OSDD & UDD). This is where typically two or more conscious entities present in the same body, referred to as "alters" or "headmates", take turns to "front" or "co-front" together.
- Pink and the irritable ghost can be considered a parallel to Kris and the SOUL.
- Kris and Pink are both controlled by outside entities.
- Both duos share a body.
- Both Kris and Pink's body have their own desires separate to the thing controlling them.
- Both controlling entities can be separated from their "vessel".
- Both Kris and Pink's body have their own desires separate to the thing controlling them.
- Pink's role as the "eighth" flower and relationship with Orange as her "big sister" may be a reference to early concept art of Omega Flowey, with the pink human SOUL being replaced by the orange human SOUL later in development.
- The flavor text "Pink stares at a mirror... she doesn't turn around." is likely a reference to Mettaton EX's battle from Undertale, where the protagonist tricks Mettaton into turning around by claiming that a mirror is behind him.
