Blue is a plant enemy in Chapter 5 of Deltarune.

Profile

Appearance

Blue is a celtic blue humanoid plant with light blue hair. His attire consists of a light blue bodystocking, a tutu skirt that resembles flower petals, and a pair of pointed shoes.

Personality

Blue acts in a fairly effeminate manner, as he’s dressed in traditional female ballerina attire and refers to other people, especially Yellow, as “dear.” He also has a tendency to refer to himself as a butterfly. Blue’s main passion is love in all forms and strikes a cordial relationship with the main trio due to each of them fighting for love in one form or another.

Etymology

Blue’s namesake is rooted in the colour blue. As the Flowers (sans Flowery) represent the seven colours of the rainbow, it’s interesting to note that his colour moreso lines up with indigo (the midpoint between blue and purple) rather than blue on the rainbow (which is more similar to a light blue like Aqua.) This could’ve been done intentionally, as indigo is often just considered a shade of blue, with blue roses being a symbol of impossibility due to them not occurring in nature.
