So the festival is coming up, right?
That thing where the town becomes... a carnival.Susie, Chapter 2
The festival (JP: まつり) is an annual Hometown event that takes place in Chapter 5. Throughout Deltarune, many characters are seen preparing for the festival.
In the Light World, Carol has been busy preparing for the festival.[1] Jackenstein, a Halloween decoration as seen in church, makes an appearance on the night of the festival and is kept in storage otherwise.[2]
In Chapter 2's Cyber City, Kris can inspect the Ferris wheel poster, which prompts Noelle to compare it to the festival's Ferris wheel in the Light World.[3] Kris can suggest either that Susie would or would not want to go to the festival with her, or that they will go to the festival with her.
At the Dreemurr residence, Susie describes the festival as resembling a carnival[4] and asks who Kris wants to go with. The choices are Noelle, Susie, Ralsei, and no response.
In Chapter 3, Susie proposes to Ralsei that he should attend the festival in the Light World with her and Kris. Ralsei states that, as a Darkner, he can only exist in the Dark World and cannot inhabit the Light World as the Lightners can. When Susie initially refuses to participate in TV Time, Ralsei suggests that they participate in Tenna's games in place of the festival.
In the Cold Place, if Kris chooses to talk to Ralsei, he asks them to buy an ice cream for Susie on his behalf. He then asks who they plan to go to the festival with. Here, the options are Noelle, Susie, Ralsei, or Berdly.
In Chapter 4, Ice Wolf can be seen decorating Town Hall with Christmas decorations in preparation for the festival. When spoken to in the hospital, Rudy suggests that Susie should go with Noelle.
In Noelle's House, Berdly calls Noelle asking her to go to the festival with him, prompting Susie to angrily deny his request and throw the phone away. Kris can inspect Noelle's phone and agree to go with Berdly, who becomes flattered. When Carol arrives and orders Susie to leave, Susie rebukes by saying that she will be taking Noelle to the festival. Outside, Asgore can mention expecting a lot of flowers selling during the festival.[5]
On the Weird Route, Carol calls Kris in the middle of the night and claims that Noelle is looking forward to seeing them at the festival.[6]

Chapter 5 takes place on the day of the festival. Kris wakes up early in the morning and sees preparations for the festival as they stroll to the school. Areas outside the path to the church are blocked, and they can interact with Asgore and Pizzapants along the way.
After returning from Castle Town, Kris, Susie, and Noelle all visit the festival.
On the Weird Route, the festival happens, but Kris sleeps through most of it.[7] Eventually, Toriel ends up suggesting Kris to get out of bed to see the parade.[8] The player has to force Kris out of bed by mashing the directional buttons. When the player exits the Dreemurr residence, Susie is outside of the house, waiting for Kris, as Noelle asked her to get them. Before this, Susie and Noelle added their names to the vote for the King and Queen.[9] Also, they rode the Ferris wheel together.[10] The only stall that is still open is Sans's ice cream stand. Sans gives Susie a punch card to draw her and her friends on.[11] She draws herself, Kris, and Ralsei. Interestingly, this lines up with the description for the card in Sans's lab behind his house in Undertale.[12]

The Town Hall is the end point of the parade. Rudy can be talked to as he is standing on a ladder, setting up lights.
On the Weird Route, Rudy can also be talked to here. He is resting on the ground beside the ladder.
The Church is decorated in a Halloween style. Checking the decorations causes Susie to comment about her stealing Jackenstein.[13]
Inside the building, Alvin is standing near the doors to the hall. If talked to, he will tell Kris about the aftermath of Chapter 4, and Susie's letter for him.
Catti is working as a fortune teller, and can be talked to. If Susie and Noelle put their hands in the bowl of eyeballs, she will refuse to talk to them and leaves.
Interacting with a sparkling spot in the northwest corner causes Alphys to scare Noelle by dropping down from the ceiling. She can be talked to afterwards, and stays dangling presumably until the festival ends.
On the Weird Route, the church cannot be entered.
The Striped Bird is selling octopus balls here. Interacting with them, they offer a ball for 2G (a currency only found in Undertale) then proceed to offer it to the player for free. The player can choose to give a ball to Kris, Susie, Noelle, or leave it alone. Susie will comment that the balls taste like raw onion.
South of the stand, two NPCs will comment about the takoyaki.
On the Weird Route, Susie comments that no one was working at the stand.
Purple Guy is standing on top of the dunk tank. When checking it, the player can choose either of two options: Dunk or Tank. Either way, Susie will trigger the mechanism to dunk him. Interacting with the tank again will reveal that he is melting.
On the Weird Route, the tank is filled with purple liquid.
The hammer game is a minigame which lets you choose two people to go on the minigame. Kris & Noelle, Kris & Susie, and Susie & Noelle.
Choosing Kris & Noelle will make them prepare to hit the machine. Noelle will begin counting down and she will have different dialogue if Kris hits the machine on time, early, late, or not at all.
Choosing Kris & Susie will play a cutscene where they will just start hitting each other with hammers, forgetting the game.
Choosing Susie and Noelle will play a cutscene where Susie hits the machine early, realizing she was supposed to hit it at the same time before cheating and pressing down on the machine and playing it off as a win.
In the Weird Route, it will play a cutscene where Susie hits Kris with the hammer.
This stand is located in front of QC's Diner, blocking it. There are three NPCs behind the stand: QC, Innkeeper, and Innkeeper's child. Vulkin is standing nearby, full of chili. The layout of the stand and dialogue suggests that QC and her sister are competing with each other to see whose cooking is better.
QC's dialogue changes depending on whether the player visited the Diner in Chapter 4. If Kris and Susie ate at the Diner, she comments on Kris and Susie's visit: When Susie tells Noelle about her and Kris's "one on one time", the player may choose to tell Susie to invite Noelle next time, or affirm what Susie said (in which case Noelle herself suggests to come next time). Either way, Susie will comment on how Kris obtained the money for the meal, with different dialogue depending on whether it was obtained from 'Sans or Asriel's drawer. If Kris and Susie did not eat at the Diner, she instead offers Kris and Noelle a cinnamon bunny for $13 - if accepted, Noelle will buy the bun for Susie.
The child behind the counter may be talked to once before they are scared off by Susie.
The Ferris wheel is one of the three events directed by Sans talking to him gives you dialogue where you can either say you hate Sans or you looooove Sans. After that talking to Sans again lets you choose who to go onto the Ferris wheel, Kris & Noelle, Kris & Susie, or Susie & Noelle.
Choosing Kris & Noelle will lead to Noelle telling you she is good and does not really want to ride the Ferris wheel with you. If you select Kris and Noelle in the voting booth for the Festival King and Queen, independently of the order, She'll accept on riding and will talk on the time both she and Kris rode the Ferris wheel as kids. She reminds them on shaking it just to conclude this action as a manner of cheering her up from losing the King and Queen voting, After this you get two options. Choosing "Shake the Ferris Wheel" Will lead to Noelle reprimanding Kris for doing so, and commenting on Kris not growing up once, but laughing it off after realizing she hasn't grown up either. Choosing "Sit silently" Will make Noelle thinking on Kris never expecting to win the vote in the first place. After both of these options Kris and Noelle will come down and Susie will admit on trying to throw dirt at them. If you said "Noelle will ride with me." at the ferris wheel poster in Chapter 2, Noelle says that you won't make her do anything. If you vote for Kris and Noelle as Festival King and Queen, Noelle accepts to ride with you and the interaction proceeds as normal.
Choosing Kris & Susie will have Susie and Kris go on the Ferris wheel when Noelle asks about it she says it is for a bet. When they go on the Ferris wheel, Susie will talk about Ralsei saying he told him to go on the Ferris wheel with Susie. After that, you and Susie wave to Noelle from the Ferris Wheel.
Choosing Susie & Noelle will let them on the Ferris wheel which they will be a little embarrassed about before adamantly going. When they go on the Ferris wheel you get two options. Choosing to "Close eyes and think about what they're doing now" Will lead to Kris getting distracted and begin thinking about Sans. Choosing to "think about other things" will make you think about Dess and Asriel on the Ferris wheel. Messing with them before being pinched by Toriel for messing with them. After both of these options Susie and Noelle will come down and say they tried waving to you but you had your eyes closed for some reason.
Sans's shop is now renamed "ICE CREAM'S"; Sans can be found outside the door selling ice cream with an ice cream stand.
When first interacted with, he refers to the party as "kris and the krizzlers".
The party can order ice cream: Noelle gets the "holiday twist" and Susie "something purple". Sans gets an ice cream for himself as well.
He then tells the party they qualify for a punch card, but first they need to draw their friends on it. After Susie proceeds to do so, Sans accepts the drawing but gives nothing in return, stating that he never said the punch card was good for anything to begin with.
If interacted with again, Sans can be questioned about either ice cream or his brother.
Temmie can be found drawing at her stand in the vicinity of Sans and Papyrus' house.
She can be asked to draw a caricature, but instead of drawing Kris, Susie, or Noelle, she will draw her "original caricture", being Temmie Chang's online persona. If you refuse to let Temmie draw a caricature of you, she rolls over and flails, stating "dsfdf".
In the Weird Route the stand will be empty, and checking it will show some dialogue with Kris and Susie.
The teacup ride is one of three locations run by Sans, located in front of the alley and Susie's apartment building. It consists of a rotating disc with (initially) a single large teacup, and a stand where Sans is standing.
If Sans is talked to, Susie complains about the singular teacup and requests Sans to fix it. If the player leaves and returns, the ride will gain an additional teacup stacked on top of the first teacup. Talking to Sans will reveal that Susie is satisfied with this outcome.
Leaving and returning again will cause the ride to gain a third teacup in the stack. Talking to Sans will reveal that Susie is perturbed by this, and requests that Sans removes the extra teacup. Leaving and returning after this will return to the "two teacups" state.
Checking the ride at any point will confirm the current number of teacups. There is no way to ride the ride.
On the Weird Route, only one teacup is present at all times, and Sans is not visible. Interacting with the stand will cause him to explain that he is eating food face-down on the floor, which Susie considers a reasonable excuse.
A stage is set up in front of the house: Pizzapants is hosting a music show and is excited to share the stage with his new girlfriend Pizzarina.
Upon entering the area Kris can interact with Milklooker, while right in front of the stage are Snail Guy, Blue Ears, Catty, and Bratty, plus a generic crowd.
To unlock the cutscene of the music show, Kris first has to choose between the latter three for which one will have to take the place of Pizzarina to play on the stage; each choice unlocks different cutscenes during and after the show.
If Blue Ears goes up the stage, he will justify his action by telling Pizzapants that Pizzarina was busy and that she has given him the music for the show;[14] after the show Blue Ears reveals the truth to Pizzapants about Pizzarina, causing Pizzapants to crash out and quit his job on the spot.
If Catty goes up the stage, she will eagerly play with Pizzapants after poking fun of him for being the "class loser" and "never having had a girlfriend".[15] After the show Catty acts as if Pizzarina might be dead, leaving Pizzapants completely startled; she then asks him to go to ICE-E's and then to start a band. The interaction ends with her forcefully grabbing Pizzapants and supposedly dragging him to get said pizza.
If Bratty goes up the stage, she will be adamant but will ultimately play along (even letting herself be called "Pizzarina" by Pizzapants). After the show, Pizzapants first excitedly calls Bratty his girlfriend, then opens up about his feelings for her (as Pizzarina); he also gifts her an ICE-E's P"E"ZZA's "Lover's Card", which grants 1 large heart-shaped pizza 3 times a week (Only for active couples, they check!). Ultimately, the two decide to go see the rest of the festival together.
The "Festival King and Queen" vote consist of a system set up during the festival where the people can vote for who they think should be the King and Queen of the festival. Then, after the votes have been counted, the winners are announced by the Mayor at the Holiday Manor. The winners get crowned, and they get to lead the Couples Parade, as all the couples in town walk hand-in-hand, down to city hall.
The voting booth and the stage are set up outside the Cattenheimer house. When filling in the ballot, a King and a Queen can be selected separately from four different options. The options for King are Kris, Noelle, Susie, and Berdly, while the options for Queen are Kris, Noelle, Susie, and Queen.
Choosing Berdly and Noelle as King and Queen results in different dialogue depending on whether Berdly was told about Noelle and Susie's date before voting.
Asgore stands in front of the Flower King door, when interacted with he offers Kris free flowers for him and any friend of family, Noelle does not like the idea of not playing for the flowers.
There are 3 different flower stands. With Golden flowers on the right, with flowers and roses on the left, and with different flowers below.
Interacting with any flowers other than prompts Asgore to say "Good idea, Kris! A pinch of love really peps them up!
