Unused battles
Various enemies exist in the code but are ultimately unused in the final version of Deltarune.
Just a test enemy. Their "sprite" is of Rudinn, although their sprite is animated with sprite parts instead of being frame-by-frame. The Chapter 2 version has ACTs seemingly from Sweet Cap'n Cakes, but most actions freeze the game due to the enemy's string data being removed.
- Diamond Cutter: Diamonds spawn on the top of the bullet board and aim somewhere in the bullet board.
- Diamond Release: Diamonds spawn from below that move upwards, damaging on contact.
- Enemy slices toward the SOUL, sending out a pinkish colored, knife shaped laser projectile. Enemy moves up and down during the attack, changing the direction of where the projectiles are coming from.

- If the player is hit during this attack, a single bullet is sent towards the SOUL instead.
- If the player is hit by the single bullet, Ralsei spawns a single bullet on the right side of the bullet board which is sent away from the SOUL.
- If the player is hit during this attack, a single bullet is sent towards the SOUL instead.

- See that HEART, Kris?
- That's a SOUL, the culmination of a HUMAN's being!
- Not only does it represent one's WILL and COMPASSION...
- But it also has the power to DETERMINE FATE.
- When enemies attack, BULLETS appear.
- Please avoid them and protect your team's FATE!
- Ready, Kris? Let's try dodging!

- These ICONS will let you ISSUE COMMANDS to YOUR TEAM.

- Umm, why don't we try something else? [Missed #9]
- [If you deal normal damage]
- [If you follow Ralsei]
- Umm, anyway, let's move onto my favorite: ACTING!
- Selecting the ACT ICON will let you do all sorts of things.
- We'll even be able to get through battles without ATTACKing!
- Select the ACT ICON and HUG the Dummy! [Neutral]
- [Hug #1]

- K... Kris!? [Hug #3]
- [If you do not follow Ralsei]
- You've got an item! That's, um, great, Kris... [Use an Item]
- [Put up a defend #1]
- That's DEFENDING, Kris. You'll recover TP and take less damage.
- It's not part of this lesson, though.
- [Put up a defend #2]
- Gee, Kris! You sure are good at defending!
- I'm not attacking, you, though, so... No need to defend!
- [Put up a defend #3]

Clover also has an unused variant with unique dialogue. This Clover is encountered alongside a Hathy, has partially available ACT choices (selected through chance), and also checks for the presence of certain party members (Susie and Ralsei) to modify response text and has higher attack and gives a lower amount of D$ after battle. These differences suggest that Clover was originally meant to be a regular enemy early in development that would be fought multiple times, instead of being a miniboss that is fought only once.
- Clubs appear outside the bullet board and rapidly shoot three 3-way spreads of bullets at the SOUL.
- Clubs fly from the right of the bullet board and explode, shooting three slow-moving pellets.

DoomTank was an early version of the Thrash Machine. It was a cardboard cut-out that Susie would hide inside to attack the player, but this idea was scrapped due to being too difficult to implement. Instead, the antagonists blow up the Thrash Machine and fight the party normally.[1]
- Spade Wall: there has not been any information provided about this attack.
- Concept art of DoomTank shown during the Undertale 6th anniversary stream
ECHIDNA (JP: エキドナ) is an unused enemy placeholder name for a Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 placeholder enemy. In Chapter 1, this enemy was called G BODY.[2] In Chapter 4, this enemy is called TERUTERUBOUZU.[3] The name is in reference to a type of traditional Japanese doll called teru teru bōzu, which are similar in appearance to the angel dolls found in the game. In Chapter 5, the enemy is renamed once again to simply WEATHER DOLL (JP: てるてるぼうず).[4] This a lateral change — the Japanese translation is just "teru teru bouzu" spelled out in hiragana. The purpose of teru teru bōzu dolls is to prevent rainy weather.
Moonwarmer (JP: ムーンウォーマー) is an alternative unused version of the Watercooler, which is essentially the same thing as the actual battle.
- Moon Rain: Large moons spawn above the bullet board and fall down at a random angle.
- A "special" variable can be adjusted to make the moons bigger and fall slower, taking up more space. This would presumably have happened every other turn, since it is the same variable that manages the spin of the Watercooler's droplets.
- The Moon Rain attack without the special variable
- The Moon Rain attack with the special parameter
Being a modified Watercooler, the ACTs work the same as in that battle but with different flavor text. (ActWarmer is the equivalent of ActCool.)
- Moon [First turn, double chance on other turns]
- The rest of the quotes are generated from the pattern: {N,M,M}{o,oo,a,o,oo}{n,m,mo,n,m}:
