Shi is a scarecrow-like Darkner with brown head and a red triangular body. It wears a flowing green scarf and a pointed red hat.

Etymology

Shi's name may be derived from the Japanese word for scarecrow, かかし (kakashi).

Trivia

• Shi themselves acts and speaks in a similar manner to Sonic the Hedgehog, having a cocky personality with a tendency to shout some of their words, and is described as having super speed in their CHECK text, a trait also shared by Sonic. Shi also has white gloves, which Sonic the Hedgehog also wears. Some of Shi's quotes and associated flavor text appear to be references to the Sonic series:
  • Shi says "Too slow" in one of their quotes, which appears to be referencing Sonic's side taunt from Super Smash Bros Brawl, where he says "You're too slow!"
  • Shi says "SONIC DASH!" in one of their quotes, directly referencing Sonic's name (and may be a reference to Sonic's spindash ability, or the Sonic game Sonic Dash)
