Dealmaker
Let me become your strength.
Spamton, Chapter 2
The Dealmaker (JP: ディールメイカー) is an armor in Chapter 2 of Deltarune.
The Dealmaker is obtained after defeating Spamton NEO through ACTing. As a result, it cannot be obtained on the Weird Route. If Spamton NEO is defeated by FIGHTing, the PuppetScarf is obtained instead.
The Dealmaker can be equipped to any party member. It gives +5 DF and +5 Magic, and reduces damage from Puppet/Cat attacks by 40% (20% in Chapter 5)[1], which include:
- Tasque's yarn balls
- Tasque Manager's attacks
- Spamton NEO-related bullets
- Shadowguy's yarn balls in the battle against Rouxls Kaard in Chapter 3
- Pink's attacks in Chapter 5
It also has the
$ +30% ability, which increases the amount of Dark Dollars earned in encounters by 30%. The Dealmaker cannot be sold to vendors.
There are various events that can occur in Chapter 3's TV World:
- If the Dealmaker is equipped to any party member, the pile of hay found post second cowboy minigame can be inspected a second time for alternate dialogue.[2] It is a slightly altered version of Spamton's dialogue when greeting Kris in Cyber City.
- In the Bonus Zone, the Dealmaker temporarily leaves the inventory and becomes Spamton when Tenna retrieves a stray Pipis from the closet.
- If it is equipped versus Tenna's final encounter, his Check description is altered if the Sword Route has not occurred.[3]
Additionally in Chapter 5, if the Dealmaker is equipped to Ralsei, there is a 10% chance his ReviveSong spell will feature a small, angelic Spamton in place of a Ralsei in its animation.[4]
- Obtaining Dealmaker from Spamton
- Obtaining Dealmaker from a treasure chest in Queen's Mansion
- Obtaining Dealmaker from a treasure chest at the Castle Town cliff
- Obtaining Dealmaker from the Castle Town cliff
- The Dealmaker is the strongest armor available in Chapter 2, and is tied with the TennaTie and the GoldWidow for the armor with the fourth-highest DF overall as of Chapter 5, with the TrueTie, DogWidow, and NetskieHat being higher at 6 DF, the GreenApron being higher with 7 and the O.Glove being the highest with 8.
- Susie's flavor text echoes the blues song "Money (That's What I Want)". The song is also called by EarthBound's Runaway Five, where one of the members staying in the Chaos Theater sings "Money, that's what I want."
- Susie's flavor text when equipping Dealmaker is exactly the same as her reaction to equipping Silver Card.
- While normally it is only possible to own one copy of either the Dealmaker or PuppetScarf on the same SAVE file via standard gameplay, it is possible to obtain both items, or two Dealmakers, via a glitch. The glitch also allows the Dealmaker to be obtainable on the Weird Route.[5][6]
- The colors of the two lenses of the Dealmaker, and by extension Spamton/Spamton Neo, are an exact match for the colors of the eyes of FRIEND, implying a connection.
