TwistedSwd

From Deltarune Wiki
(Redirected from Twisted Sword)

The TwistedSwd (JP: ツイストソード Tsuisuto Sōdo, lit. "Twist Sword") is a currently unobtainable sword-type weapon in Deltarune. It can only be equipped by Kris, and cannot be sold. It can be created by fusing the ThornRing and the currently unobtainable PureCrystal. It gives +16 AT and the currently nonfunctional Trance ability (different from the ThornRing's Trance ability).

The ThornRing can only be obtained in the Chapter 2 Weird Route, but as of Chapter 4, continuing the route has Noelle equip the ring while leaving the party, removing it from the Equipment inventory. It is unknown whether the player will regain access to it in a future Chapter while on the Weird Route; the only way it can be brought to Castle Town currently is by aborting the route during the fight against Berdly. Chapter 5 provides more evidence that the only way to obtain the TwistedSwd is through aborting the Weird Route, as successfully continuing the Weird Route in Chapter 5 prevents the player from obtaining Pink's Shadow Crystal.

Like the BlackShard, the TwistedSwd shares the property of dealing increased damage against Dark-element enemies, although it lacks the SlayDark effect in its description. The game applies a damage multiplier against specific enemies if either weapon is wielded:

  • Titan Spawn take 10× damage when attacked with the TwistedSwd.
  • The Titan takes 3× damage with its shield up and 10× with its shield down when attacked with the TwistedSwd, as opposed to 0.5× damage with its shield up and 5× with its shield down when attacked with other swords.[1]

Flavor text

  • ... uhh, looks bad. [When attempting to equip it to Susie]
  • It's like a spiral. [When attempting to equip it to Ralsei]
  • It's... kind of scary... [When attempting to equip it to Noelle]

Trivia

  • The TwistedSwd is currently one of two weapons equippable by Kris to not have a Light World counterpart, the other being the (also unused) EverybodyWeapon.
  • The TwistedSwd is tied with the BlackShard and the unused weapon GildedRose for the highest attack boost in the game as of Chapter 5.
