Key (The Legend of Tenna)

THERE ARE [FOUR/FIVE] KEYS IN ALL, THOUGH YOU JUST NEED THREE.

Pippins, Chapter 3

Keys (JP: カギ) are items in the Desert Board of The Legend of Tenna in Deltarune. At least 3 of them are used in tandem with the Mooncloud Stone in order to unlock the door to the pyramid containing the final challenge.

Extra keys beyond those 3 grant a bonus during the Evaluation, which can improve the rank for the board.

Desert Board

On a new playthrough, 4 keys are available:

If a Chapter 3 Completion FILE is present, a 5th key becomes available:

  • In the room with four tiny pyramids, the palm tree that is normally present on a new playthrough will not be blocking the bridge anymore, giving access to the bomb field room. There, Susie will dig up some bombs and then the key if she has the Power Croissant.

Island Board

While a key can be purchased in the Island Board for 100 POINTs in a Pippins shop, this is a scam. The key falls off the screen, and it is revealed that keys are useless for this particular board. The Pippins runs off, reducing the price of the TV Dinner from 400 POINTs to "FREE", but making them unavailable for repeat purchases.

City Board

At the top floor of TV Tower, a key can be picked up with Susie's character and thrown at the keyhole to open the door to the Monster Movie minigame. Unlike the keys in the Desert Board, it is not incorporated into the board inventory.

Parental lock rooms

A key is found in the second parental lock room in the Cold Place, and can be used to solve the puzzle as HERO_AXE. If the Sword Route is pursued at least up to the point of collecting the Ice Key, the key can optionally be destroyed with HERO_SWORD.
