Saber10

From Deltarune Wiki

(Someone from behind the curtain pushed you away...)
(...? You felt something spiny stuck in your hand.)

Narration after interacting with a curtain, Chapter 3

The Saber10 (JP: サーベル10) is a sword-type weapon in Deltarune. In Chapter 3, it can be purchased for 80 POINTs from the vending machine at the red carpet hall. One can also be obtained for free in the S-rank changing room by interacting with the far-right curtain after completing the Desert Board but before starting the Island Board. In Chapter 4, it is Kris's default weapon if the Chapter is started without a Completion FILE.

It can only be equipped by Kris, and gives +6 AT. The vending machine description lists it as being "Tsun-type armaments", alluding to the word "tsundere".

Flavor text

  • Nah, I'd snap it. [When attempting to equip it to Susie]
  • You want to... pierce my ears...? [When attempting to equip it to Ralsei]
  • (I'm not against using it, but...) [When attempting to equip it to Noelle; unused]

CactusNeedle

The CactusNeedle (JP: サボテンのトゲ) is acquired by leaving the Dark World with the Saber10 equipped. Unlike most of Kris's other swords, it is not transformed into a type of stationery equipment after leaving the Dark World, instead referencing the cactus in the Dreemurr residence as the likely source. The weapon's description in the Dark World foreshadows this new name, as it is described as being 10 cactus needles entwined to create a saber.

Trivia

  • This weapon's flavor text is a reference to the Cactuar's 1000 Needles attack from the Final Fantasy series, which is a move that deals 1000 damage.
  • The name of this item comes from the Japanese word サボテン (saboten, "cactus").
