GoldWidow

From Deltarune Wiki

The GoldWidow (JP: ゴールドウィドウ Gōrudo Widou) is a missable armor in Chapter 4 of Deltarune that is found inside a chest in the waterfall room of the 2nd Sanctuary if at least 9999 D$ were donated in the money fountain of the Dark Sanctuary.

It can be equipped to any party member but Noelle. It gives +1 AT, +5 DF, +1 Magic, and the $ -10% ability, which reduces the amount of Dark Dollars earned from encounters by 10%.

In Chapter 5, the GoldWidow can be fused with the DogDollar to create the DogWidow.

Flavor text

  • Spider on my head. K. [When equipping it to Susie]
  • Itsy and/or bitsy! [When equipping it to Ralsei]
  • E-Ew! Kris, get that away! [When attempting to equip it to Noelle; unused]

Allusions

Allusions to Undertale

  • The game's text describes it as spider-shaped. An Organikk in the room with the GoldWidow says, "You may as well give money to a spider." This is a reference to Muffet from Undertale, as the Organikk refers to the Dark Dollars as "Gold", and both the GoldWidow and Muffet's wares require 9999 gold.

Other allusions

  • Ralsei's flavor text references the nursery rhyme, "The Itsy Bitsy Spider".
  • The name "GoldWidow" is probably a reference to the similarly named spider, the "black widow", only "gold" due to its theme of money.
