Lancer (The Legend of Tenna)
HO HO HO!! L MARKS THE SPOT!
Lancer, before digging out a key in the Desert Board, Chapter 3
Lancer (JP: ランサー) is an item in the Desert Board and Island Board of The Legend of Tenna in Deltarune. He is used at special L spots to dig up the ground to unlock secrets.
Two Lancers are also obtainable in the unused City Board, though there is nothing for him to dig there.
Lancer is trapped atop a large cactus in a room to the northwest, blocked off by a moat. He can be dislodged by pressing the red button while owning the Power Croissant, allowing Susie to throw Ralsei into the cactus. Alternatively, by draining the oasis by drinking from it 9 times, the moat blocking the way to the cactus dries up, allowing Kris to directly interact with the cactus to immediately dislodge Lancer.
Lancer can be brought to the oasis reservoir, where he clogs it up with stone, revealing one of the keys required to unlock the pyramid.

To the right of the mouth of the river is a Pippins shop, where Lancer is labeled to be sold for 999 POINTs. The first two 9's are a light gray, which hints that they can be removed with the camera. Taking a photo of Lancer's price tag alters the price from 999 to 9 or 99 POINTs, depending on how many of the 9's are captured.[1]
After purchasing Lancer, he can be brought to the hot springs room, where an L spot is located. He digs around the room, releasing the green geyser, which he buoyantly rides upon. A photo of the green geyser can be taken to obtain one of the Grand Photos. His digging opens up the pathway to a secret bonus zone to the left.
Susie can foreshadow the existence of 2 Lancers if the screen with the Lancer shop is re-entered after his purchase.

Lancer is a shopkeeper in the commercial district's only shop. He proclaims that his store is free to friends, and he sells a camera for free, a Lancer for free, and a Pippins crying for help for 100 POINTs. The Pippins is a scam artist who reveals it was not trapped at all, and it runs away after its purchase. Subverting expectations, it turns out that the Lancer that was the shopkeeper can also be collected for free, allowing the inventory to hold a total of 2 Lancers, which fulfills Susie's previous foreshadowing on the Island Board.
Although the City Board has 2 Lancers to collect, there are no L spots for Lancer to dig, making the collection of Lancers useless.
