Undyne to Kris, Chapter 2

The Box of Heart Candy (JP: ハートのハコいりチョコ) is a Light World item from Undyne in Chapter 2 of Deltarune. This item can only be obtained if Kris attempts to warn her about the library's Dark World. When the Wet-Nose Bandits escape, Undyne asks Kris if they can give it to Alphys, as she noticed the broken bike. The box has "Get Well Soon" with Undyne's scrawl and a note explicitly for Kris.

It can be given to Alphys, returned to Sans (with a $5 refund), eaten with Susie, or eaten alone. Eating it sets Kris's HP to 19, effectively dealing 1 damage. Giving it to Alphys will prompt an additional dialogue in Chapter 4, which differs based on Kris's response to Alphys when talking about Undyne:

• If Kris says, "She gave you chocolates though", Alphys explains the chocolate was so stale it knocked her out for the night, explaining why it deals damage.
• If Kris says, "It's because of me", Alphys interprets it as a confession about her missing chocolate, revealing that Kris still sneaks a chocolate regardless of the player's choice. She tells them it is okay and considers it a delivery fee.

The Box of Heart Candy has no Dark World alternative, unlike most other Light World items.

Trivia

• The damage done by eating the Box of Heart Candy is not transferred into the Dark World, and Kris is restored to 20 HP if they enter and leave the Dark World after eating it. This may be an oversight.
