Sphinx-Tenna, Chapter 3

Sphinx-Tenna[2] (JP: スフィンクス・テナ) is a character in The Legend of Tenna that appears in the northeast section of the Desert Board. It guards one of the keys.

Profile

Appearance

Sphinx-Tenna is a Tenna-faced yellow sphinx sticking out its tongue. It wears a nemes headdress, colored blue with yellow stripes. It has two Q-shaped outlines on its chest, which get filled with blue when it is given its two missing Q's.

Personality

Sphinx-Tenna often speaks enthusiastically, similar to the real Tenna. It shows its appreciation for being returned its missing Q's with a hostile quiz.

Main story

Initially, Sphinx-Tenna requests for the party to locate its two missing Q's. If the party does not own both Q's yet, and if Susie does not have the Power Croissant, she questions if the sphinx is a boss; Tenna denies the allegation as if the comment was directed at himself rather than the sphinx. If Susie does own the Power Croissant, she instead throws a pot at Sphinx-Tenna, injuring it and upsetting real Tenna.

Bringing Sphinx-Tenna both of its Q's fills in the Q-shaped outlines on its chest with blue. Happy to be dressed, it begins a "QUIZ TO THE DEATH", which functions the same as the quiz vortexes' quizzes. After completing its quiz, Sphinx-Tenna's nose either falls asleep, if the party answered most questions incorrectly, or Sphinx-Tenna purposely rewards the party with its nose, causing it to fall off and slide to the left, destroying the palm trees and opening a pathway to one of the keys.

Sphinx-Tenna was also meant to appear on the Island Board on vacation, missing its sunglasses. If the party brings it two Q's, which are parts of Sphinx-Tenna's sunglasses, it starts a quiz. Completing the quiz rewards the party with the Voucher, and the sunglasses-wearing Sphinx-Tenna floats away.[3]
