The GingerGuard (JP: ジンジャーガード, romanized as Jinjā Gādo) is an armor in Chapter 3 of Deltarune that can be bought from the vending machine in the Green Room, or pulled out of the ball machine. It gives +3 DF and can be equipped to any party member.

If Chapter 4 is started without a Completion FILE, Kris, Susie, and Ralsei's default armor is one GingerGuard and one GlowWrist equipped to each of them.

If Chapter 5 is started without a Completion FILE, Kris, Susie, and Ralsei's default armor is two GingerGuards equipped to each of them.

  • Look! I punched through a guy! [When equipping it to Susie]
  • A bigger one could make Kris! [When equipping it to Ralsei]
  • This smells amazing! Um, sorry. [When equipping it to Noelle; unused]

Creation and development

This item was revealed in a progress update by Toby Fox in the Summer 2024 Newsletter.[1]

Trivia

  • Its name, flavor text, and the icon next to it in the equipment menu implies it is one of Toriel's cookie cutters for gingerbread men.[2]
