Nobody

From Deltarune Wiki

... Ah, you just wanted to talk to me...?
...
My apologies, beautiful. I'm afraid I'm a bit of a nobody.

Nobody, Chapter 1

An unseen Lightner lives in the Blook house in Hometown, serving as a recurring NPC in Deltarune. Their real name is unknown, as they only refer to themselves as "a nobody". It is implied that they are the Deltarune counterpart of Mettaton from Undertale. They live with their cousins, the irritable ghost and Napstablook.

Due to the character's lack of a proper name, this article will refer to them as "the nobody".

Profile

Personality

The nobody uses phrases such as "oh my" and "darling" when they speak. They are meek and often self-deprecating, initially assuming no one would want to talk to them. Their main source of entertainment is seemingly the internet - without it, they quickly get bored and crave entertainment from elsewhere.

Main story

History

The old machine in Queen's basement

The nobody is implied to have designed a robotic body of their dreams using a graphic art program on a computer in the library. The design was eventually discarded, but its remnants appear in the basement of Queen's Mansion, becoming the body Spamton inhabits when he transforms into Spamton NEO. Swatch also helped bring the design to fruition.[2]

Chapter 1

In Chapter 1, the voice answers Kris's knock by assuming they are looking for someone who is not home. If the knocking persists, the voice is surprised that anyone might want to visit them and meekly sends Kris away, sadly describing themselves as "a nobody".

Chapter 2

In Chapter 2, the irritable ghost responds to Kris's knocking, but they can allow them to talk to the nobody again. Deprived of entertainment since Hometown's internet went out, they asks Kris to come back the following day and bring something entertaining as a favor.

Chapter 4

In Chapter 4, the nobody answers Kris's knock again, wistfully referring to them as their "only fan". If Tenna survived the events of Chapter 3, Kris and Susie may offer him to the nobody, who appraises it and asks for the brand. The nobody becomes amused when realizing that Susie mentioning "Tenna" is the TV's nickname. Due to this, they accept it after seeing how much Kris and Susie love the TV, thus Susie moves it into the house for them.

If Kris returns to the house afterward, they overhear the nobody teasing Tenna's forwardness in displaying a "salacious" music video, saying that it "awakened something" within them. If they knock on their door but do not offer the TV, the nobody dismisses them, disappointed but unsurprised.

If Tenna is broken but the party suggests offering him anyway, the nobody tries to understand what he is from Susie's halting, confused explanation, but she eventually gives up. This leaves them without entertainment, musing sadly about the loneliness of being housebound for days on end.

The nobody cannot be visited after the events in the Dark Sanctuaries, as the party assumes anyone in the house is asleep by then.
