7 Colored Flowers
Thank you for watching our dream.
Blue, Chapter 5
The 7 Colored Flowers[1] (JP: 7色の花 7 Iro no Hana) are plants and the primary recurring antagonists led by Flowery in Chapter 5 of Deltarune. They perceive themselves as humans and most manifest with a human-like appearance in the Dark World. The flowers' aim is to give Asgore a perfect world where he can forget about the struggles of his regular life.
In the Light World, the flowers were part of Asgore's wedding bouquet that he grew specifically for his and Toriel's wedding. Each flower was only supposed to live for a single day, but through Asgore's love and care, he has been able to preserve them for many years longer than their natural lifespan.[2]
The seven flowers each correspond to one of the flowers in Flower King, with the exception of Pink, a Lightner-Darkner hybrid that the flowers adopt as a member of their group. Their colors, traits, attacks and equipment link them heavily to the seven fallen humans from Undertale and their SOULs, with the exception of the red SOUL as the seventh, being replaced by and linked to Flowey, as the red SOUL is linked to Kris.

Additionally, Pink claims to be a member of the seven flowers and is seen as a sister by Orange. In reality, she is a Lightner ghost possessing the Darkner form of a Mew Mew action figure. Her Undertale counterpart is Mad Mew Mew, a Nintendo Switch exclusive boss fight. Her association with the flowers is possibly explained by the action figure serving as Flower King's "mascot", according to Asgore, and being placed in their periphery.[12] If defeated by the party, she is introduced by Orange to the rest of the flowers, and the flowers accept her as an official member of their group. This scene is the only on-screen interaction between them, and Flowery is notably absent from it.
The seven flowers were created when Asgore grew them as a proposal to Toriel. While they were only supposed to last for a single day, Asgore continued caring for them, keeping them alive and telling them about his aspirations.[13] For a long time, the seven flowers wished they could do something in return,[14] fantasizing about a greater level of sentience.[15] Unfortunately, they could only stand by and watch as Asgore's life deteriorated, as Asgore's best friend Rudy became sick, Asgore became financially destitute, and his family left him due to his obsession with an event that occurred in the past.[14][16]
After Kris created a Dark Fountain in Flower King, the flowers' wishes were granted when the Dark Fountain elevated them to a new level of consciousness, allowing them to speak and move. With their newfound consciousness, they decided to become heroes who could build a world where Asgore's kindness could be repaid and he could have a perfect family to replace the one that had driven him to despair.[17][18]
Near the start of the Garden, Asgore is seen talking to someone that he is pleased to see again,[19] revealed to be the Dark World form of his golden flower, Flowery. The party encounters Flowery at various sections. First, he makes two Floradinns kiss to open the way forward, then at the Ideal Diner, he is seen talking with Asgore and showing him his mixtape (which he describes as "sound[ing] like your child, calling for help" should they call out to Asgore)
Flowery, wishing both to preserve the "ideal world" that exists for Asgore and hoping to keep Kris and their friends safe, leads the party to a portal to the Light World. The party ignores this exit and continues on.
Later in the Garden, the party notices Aqua and Seth arguing. It is revealed that Seth was told by Flowery[20] to not let the party obtain the Petal Feather, as it would "let them get to the next area", as they order Aqua to not allow them to get past her.[21] When Seth notices the party, they desperately leave, and the party meets Aqua, who identifies them as "fellow humans", referencing traits from each member of the party. After she randomly mentions the feather[22] and playing "games",[23] Susie and Ralsei propose a "game" to be given the feather as a reward for playing with Aqua. Aqua interprets this as a battle, and initiates one with Kris solo,[24] despite the rest of the party still being present.[25]
In her battle, she imitates Kris's ACTs and question them in a fun and friendly way, discovering herself as a human. She stops the battle when she learns that Kris cannot cast spells to mimic her Omega attack, calling Kris "boring".[26] After she loses the battle, which she finds fun in, she is convinced to giving the party their "prize", letting them pass and obtain the feather.
The party later encounters Aqua during the main platforming section of the Garden, pleasing her gift. She thinks of something else she can give, something "brand new", and leaves the party with her bullet pattern.[27] This is the last time she is seen before the Cliffs.
Aqua and Seth are, again, seen together in the Cliffs, first debating actions taken to mimic humans. They (and their bullet patterns) clash with the party multiple times through the course of the area. At one point, Seth and Aqua plan to stop the party using wind. Aqua ruins this plan by making the wind go upward, making Seth lose their two wallets. At the end of the Cliffs, Aqua and Seth team up against the party in a standard encounter. Seth orders Aqua to attack the party using only the attack that damaged Kris the most in the Garden encounter. When ordered to use "THAT attack", she instead launches a single duck-shaped projectile onto the bullet board. The battle quickly falls apart as Aqua goes rogue and Seth runs away after attacking the party a few times.
The party encounters the four other flowers, two per wing, in Flower Castle. First Yellow and Blue, then Orange and Green. Both of the pairs fight the party, and the situation is resolved peacefully after the encounter. The flowers collaborate to create challenges for the party at Top of Castle's gauntlet.
Eventually, the party reaches Flowery, and he calls upon the actual flowers to help (first Aqua and Seth, then Orange and Green, finally Yellow and Blue). Eventually, Flowery calls upon all six Flowers at once to become Omega Flowery, but the fight ends with Asgore making clear that he never intended to stay, and needs to take care of the store and the flowers. The other flowers respect Asgore's decision, and all thank the party for "watching [their] dream" before returning to regular flowers, save for Flowery, who is fatally wounded trying to stop the Knight from kidnapping Asgore (after it creates a second Dark Fountain) and is cut nearly in half from the stem.
After the Dark Fountain is sealed, Susie tapes up Flowery's Light World form before relocating it in Yellow's case while moving Yellow into Blue's.
After collecting 10 Pink Coins, the party may obtain a MysteryKey from the shop merchant located in the Cliffs, which can be used to unlock a pink door within Flower Castle. In this room, the party encounters Orange, and gets into a heated argument with her. Orange summons her older sister Pink, who helps Orange and the party make up. However, the party inadvertently angers Pink when Susie and Ralsei point out that Asgore only has seven flowers and also does not have a pink one, accidentally revealing Pink's deception: that she is not a flower and is simply posing as one.[28] She becomes further enraged when the pair also reveal that the Dark World is only temporary,[29] as she correctly deduces that the party will be responsible for taking it away from her; to prevent the party from doing so and punish them, Pink starts a fight.[30]
After battling Pink, the party successfully calms her down and informs her that she'll be able to come to Castle Town and maintain her form.
