Watchin' the waves go by...Royal Guard Rabbit, Chapter 1
The Royal Guards are a pair of minor returning characters in Deltarune. They are a rabbit and dragon duo that accompany each other around Hometown.
The Royal Guards are two burly monsters that wear a black metal helmet with a dark visor over their head, which they never take off at any point. Both of them share an identical set of clothes: red flannel shirts, beige trousers, and a pair of black shoes.
Despite their shared attire, some of their traits are visible: the rabbit monster's ears and the dragon monster's horns protrude from their helmets. The rabbit monster has white hands, while the dragon monster's hands are green.
The Royal Guards are self-proclaimed "best bros" and are always seen together. The rabbit monster is significantly more talkative than the dragon monster and often speaks for him.
In Chapter 1, the Royal Guards stand near the picnic tables by the lake. The rabbit monster enthuses over enjoying the natural scenery with his best bro, and the dragon monster, though laconic, agrees.
In Chapter 2, the Royal Guards stand next to the church. The rabbit monster states that they are appreciating their paint work for the building.[1] If spoken to, the dragon monster comments that they missed a spot.
In Chapter 4, the Royal Guards attend the church service. They may be spoken to after the service, where the rabbit monster mentions his appreciation for the church atmosphere. In addition, it is revealed that the Royal Guards are in a relationship.[2] The dragon, when spoken to, informs Kris that Alphys looks thirsty.
In Undertale, the Royal Guards make an appearance in Hotland, on patrol for any humans in the area. They confront the protagonist upon realizing they are one such human, but during the consequent battle, the protagonist can get them to confess their feelings for each other. If spared, they can later be seen eating ice cream together.
