MechaSaber

The MechaSaber (JP: メカセーバー) is a sword-type weapon in Deltarune. It can be bought from Sweet Cap'n Cakes's shop in Cyber Field for 250 D$ in Chapter 2. In Chapter 3, it is Kris's default weapon if the Chapter is started without a Completion FILE. It can only be equipped by Kris, and gives +4 AT and the purely cosmetic Annoying ability.

The Mech. Pencil (JP: シャーペン) is acquired by leaving the Dark World with the MechaSaber equipped. Much like Kris's other weapons, it transforms into a type of pencil after leaving the Dark World.

The weapon's description in the Dark World foreshadows this new name, as a mechanical pencil's lead can be extended by pressing the bottom of the pencil; exactly what the weapon does.

Trivia

• The blade extending from the hilt and the name itself may be a reference to lightsabers from Star Wars.
• The weapon wearer gaining the stat "Annoying" may refer to the common habit of repeatedly clicking a mechanical pencil or pen, which creates an "annoying" noise. The Mech. Pencil's description also alludes to this.
