Jevil, Chapter 1

The Jevilstail (JP: ジェビルテール Jeviltail) is an armor found during Chapter 1 of Deltarune. It is obtained by defeating Jevil via ACTing. If Jevil is defeated by FIGHTing, Devilsknife is obtained instead.

Jevilstail gives +2 AT, +2 DF and +2 Magic, and can be equipped to any party member.

Additional uses

• During Tenna's boss fight in Chapter 3, if any party member has Jevilstail equipped, Susie's Bet ACT bets 30 POINTs instead of 20.

Trivia

• In Chapter 1, as with Devilsknife, the Jevilstail cannot be sold, and shopkeepers react to it as they would to an empty inventory slot.
  • In Chapter 2, when attempting to sell Jevilstail or Devilsknife, shopkeepers instead have unique dialogue refusing to buy them. This also applies to Spamton NEO's items.
• The Jevilstail can be found in the hole to the west of Castle Town if Jevil was defeated peacefully on a different Chapter 1 save file, or if it was disposed of via dropping the Ball of Junk or equipping it to Noelle. At the end of Chapter 2, this is only available if Spamton NEO has been defeated.
  • The Jevilstail is the only item granted by a Shadow Crystal boss that can currently be given away to Noelle in this manner in normal gameplay.
• In Chapter 2, if Jevilstail is equipped while fighting Tasque Manager, she comments on it, implying she recognizes it from Jevil, and has met him before.
• Some of Noelle's dialogue in Chapter 2 implies that Susie may have a tail. When it is pointed out, a flustered Susie denies it, making it unclear whether her dialogue upon equipping Jevilstail was truthful, just an act, or merely an oversight. However, Susie's flavor text when equipping it could also mean that she meant she would grow a demon tail due to her rowdy behavior.
• While normally it is only possible to own one copy of either the Jevilstail or the Devilsknife via standard gameplay, it is possible to obtain three Jevilstails, or two Jevilstails and one Devilsknife, via a glitch.
