Bratty to Kris, Chapter 1
Bratty (JP: アリゲッティ Alligetty) (/ˈbræti/) is a returning character in Deltarune. She lives in her house in northern Hometown, where she lives next-door to her rival Catty. The two often find themselves sharing similar interests despite disliking one another.
Bratty is an anthropomorphic green alligator with curly blonde hair and dark pink eyes, lipstick and bright pink nails. She wears a dark pink tank top, black shorts decorated with a heart, and pink shoes.
Bratty speaks in a stereotypical American valley girl dialect and often sticks her tongue out when talking. She appears to have a large ego, and despises the fact that she manages to see Catty everywhere she goes,[2] including the movie theater and QC's Diner.
She has a great interest in food, as she agreed to let Kris hang out with her as long as they bought her burgers, french fries, and miniature cakes at some point before the game's events. Bratty is also possessive of the trash near the alleyway, commenting that living with Asriel made Kris weird if they try to interact with a trash can.
Before the events of Deltarune, Bratty once played truth-or-dare with Asriel, which resulted in him kissing her, and Toriel losing her mind upon hearing this. At some point, Kris asked to hang out with her, to which she agreed to as long as they brought her the food she liked.
At the start of Chapter 1, Bratty is among the many Hometown residents watching Toriel drive Kris to their school. She later appears as an interactable NPC after Kris seals the Dark Fountain in Card Kingdom. She stands in front of her front door, so Kris cannot enter her household. Bratty jokes about being a relative to Kris, by saying she is their "almost-sister-in-law".
In Chapter 2, Bratty can be found in the alley. Upon interacting, she quietly snickers, before informing Kris of a rumor about Pizzapants getting a girlfriend named Pizzarina.[3] Kris can choose to talk, mention Susie, or do not.
- "Talk" causes Bratty to recall a story where she went to the beach to play her ukulele, only for Catty to already be there. She says that she tried to play the same song to "assert [her] ukelele[sic] dominance", only to end up harmonizing with her.
- "Susie" causes Bratty to mutter to Kris about Susie. Under her breath, she comments about Susie being their "nasty dirty little friend", and considers visiting Carol to get a traffic sign, as she does not want "plus-ones" in the alleyway.
Inspecting the trash cans in the alley causes Bratty to comment on Kris inspecting them, though her mouth does not move in the overworld.[4]
Bratty attends church service, sitting by her lonesome on one of the pews. She admits she usually does not attend and randomly decided to, and proceeds to call Catty's reading "so awful you can't help but smile". She then wonders if Catty will go to the diner after service.
Bratty herself can be found at the diner after leaving the church, sitting next to Blue Ears in one of the booths. She complains about her and Catty ordering the same special that morning and having a pleasant meal together. Catty paid for it, so she is now waiting at the diner so she can pay her back. She asks Kris about her makeup, worried about not looking better than her "obsessed" rival.
When eavesdropping on her conversation with Blue Ears, it is revealed she has coerced him into catfishing Pizzapants by pretending to be "Pizzarina" through text.
Outside Noelle's house, Bratty can be seen alongside Catty, Blue Ears and others in front of Pizzapants's stage. - If Kris goes up to Bratty and picks "Your fault you go up", Bratty will go on the stage with a guitar. Pizzapants will notice and immediately think that Bratty is THE so called "Pizzarina" after their short performance, Bratty and Pizzapants will talk, with Bratty constantly trying to say something, while Pizzapants keeps cutting her off. Eventually, Pizzapants asks Bratty to go on the ferris wheel with him and Bratty agrees. This action causes Blue ears to think of a new "Pizza and Poison" flavor for his ice cream, Catty praises Bratty and the Milklooker thinks of the whole situation as "awkward". - If Kris goes up to Catty and picks "You should go", Catty will go up to the stage with a guitar. Catty suggests that "Pizzarina" may have died and starts crying. When Pizzapants tries to comfort her, she says that he is actually sweet and asks him to make a band with her and drags him to ICE-E's because the name "Pizzarina" made her hungry for Pizza. Seeing this, Bratty is livid, asking how he could deserve her, and expresses a desire to have poisoned or killed him, "evil-style".
Bratty claims to have animosity towards Catty. Ironically, the two still find themselves sharing the same interests every time they come across one another. If Catty goes up on stage during the festival, she seems jealous that she is going out with Pizzapants and claims that since they are so similar, she should share her standards.
Bratty impersonates a character she names "Pizzarina" to catfish Pizzapants because she thought it would be funny. One day before the festival, she has Blue Ears take over the account to do the same.
Bratty appears in the DELTARUNE Chapter 1 Spoiler-Free Trailer. In front of her house, she states that she feels great. However, Bratty comments on the Annoying Dog censoring her face, with the word "dog" also being censored. Her talksprite is also censored by three Annoying Dogs.
Bratty first appeared in Undertale, where she is friends with Catty. They live in the alleyway outside of MTT Resort. When Bratty and Catty speak, they tend to finish each other's sentences, or share the same lines. When asked about Burgerpants, they describe when he wanted to spend time with them by giving them Glamburgers.
- Bratty's name is one of the names that prompts a unique response from the voice in the introduction during Chapter 1.
- Bratty's memory of letting Kris hang out with her if they bring her food mirrors that of Burgerpants's story from Undertale, where he wanted to hang out with Bratty and Catty by getting burgers for them.
