Catty to Kris, Chapter 1
Catty Cattenheimer (JP: キャッティ・キャッテンハイマー) (/ˈkæti/) is a returning character in Deltarune. She lives in Hometown with her younger sister Catti, and is the eldest daughter of Dad Cat and Mom Cat.
Catty lives next-door to her rival Bratty, and the two often find themselves sharing similar interests despite disliking one another.
Catty is an anthropomorphic cat monster with purple fur. She has yellow eyes, two prominent upper canine teeth, and shoulder-length black hair, which she wears with one yellow hair clip. Her outfit consists of a bright orange lei necklace, a green and blue tie-dye shirt, blue denim shorts and blue sandals.
Catty speaks in a stereotypical American valley girl dialect. Like Bratty, she jokes about being a relative of Kris's, specifically their aunt, and seems to be more affectionate in doing so.[2] Catty also plays the ukulele, albeit poorly, her sister Catti describing it as "an anti-blessing from Planet Hell".[3] Despite this, Catty is still very caring toward her sister and appears generally supportive of others.
Before the events of Deltarune, Catty may have previously dated Asriel. She mentions attending a dance in which she spilled punch all over him, danced inappropriately in front of Toriel, and was later arrested in the parking lot.[4] Catty once went to a theater to see a movie, only to find that Bratty was the only other person there, and then encountered her again at QC's Diner.[5]
At the start of Chapter 1, Catty is among the many Hometown residents watching Toriel drive Kris to their school. Catty is later found standing near her house with her father after Kris seals the Dark Fountain in Card Kingdom. If Kris tries to enter her house, they cannot, but Catty says that they are welcome to visit anytime.[6]
Catty has a room within Queen's Mansion for unknown reasons. When examining her room, it is revealed to have the same animated wallpaper of the pink cat ad from Cyber City with smells of glittery cat food inside.
In Chapter 2, Catty can be found inside QC's Diner, where she is enthusiastically playing her ukulele and singing a song to cheer Catti on. She recounts a story where she was playing ukulele at the beach, only for Bratty to appear and start playing the same song with her. She recalls having a lot of fun, before remembering that she considers Bratty her enemy.[7]
At church, Catty recites a reading which summarizes the prophecy, and loosely mentions the Angel.[8] During the reading, she frequently trails off into unrelated tangents, expresses her opinion on Ralsei,[9] and ends the reading by giving "shout outs" to her family members.[10]
Catty can afterwards be found in the alley, ravaging Alphys's milk saucer as the Milklooker watches on. This causes Alphys deep regret over "milk related choices" and Susie to be bitter and think of her as a "furry freak"[11] and a "goddamn milk pirate".[12]
Outside Noelle's house, Catty can be seen alongside Bratty, Blue Ears and others in front of Pizzapants's stage, where the latter is worried about his supposed girlfriend "Pizzarina" not showing up. If Kris goes up to Catty and picks "You should go", Catty will go up to the stage with a guitar. Catty suggests that "Pizzarina" may have died and starts crying. When Pizzapants tries to comfort her, she says that he is actually sweet and asks him to make a band with her and drags him to ICE-E's because the name "Pizzarina" made her hungry for Pizza.
Catty is shown to dislike Bratty, and the two are rivals. Ironically, the two still find themselves sharing the same interests every time they come across one another.
Catty mentions that she struggles to connect with her sister,[13] and they are described as having very different personalities and interests. Nonetheless, she loves Catti and is shown supporting her unconditionally, much to Catti's chagrin.
In Chapter 2, Catty made a song about Catti being the best sister despite cursing her.[14]
Catty first appeared in Undertale, where she is friends with Bratty. They live in the alleyway outside of MTT Resort. When Bratty and Catty speak, they tend to finish each other's sentences, or share the same lines. Catty's appearance is also different. Her hairstyle is shorter, and she has lavender and light blue highlights in her bangs, and an earring on her left ear.
