Unknown
Unknowns[note 1] are shadowy figures from the Dark Sanctuary in Chapter 4. They can only be found obscured in darkness within the room behind the donation pool waterfall.
Unknown is a pure black serpentine creature coming out from the ground, apparently made of thin strings loosely twisted together. It ends in a small head with large hollow eye-sockets, a pair of antennae, and three pairs of shrimp-like whiskers around its mouth.
Unknowns are encountered in the ripple maze behind the donation pool waterfall in the Dark Sanctuary. Though they can be reached, they can only be interacted with if the golden piano puzzle has been solved without going through the area first, and are only visible when ripple effects pass over their location, making it difficult to get a good view. The check dialogue reads "Something long and stringy is blocking the way."
