The door knocking guy[1] is an unseen returning character in Deltarune. He lives in the center of the three visible apartment buildings in Hometown, and speaks through the door whenever Kris knocks on it.
The door knocking guy has a notable fixation on knocking, holding it to a high standard and being quick to critique Kris's technique as lacking. He also takes the art of knocking very seriously.
In Chapter 1, the door knocking guy describes Kris's knocking as that of a beginner, and tells them to come back after they get better at knocking.
In Chapter 2, the door knocking guy describes Kris's knocking as amateur, and lets them know they still have a long way to go.
In Chapter 4, the door knocking guy's wife answers the door instead. She advises Kris to take a break from knocking for the day.
In Chapter 5, Kris, Susie and Noelle can all knock together, leading the door knocking guy to realize that the only way to achieve the strongest knock is through the bonds of companionship.[2]
In Undertale, the knock lover resides in the northern part of Snowdin Town.
