Royal Coat Rack, Chapter 1
The Royal Coat Rack (JP: 宮廷コートかけ) is a Darkner who can be encountered in Forest. He relocates to Castle Town after the Eastern Fountain is sealed.
The Royal Coat Rack resembles a gray metal jack with two eyes that protrude from between four of his prongs, while the last two spikes append an elongated body and act as legs. His two darker prongs resemble a mustache.
The Royal Coat Rack is generally upbeat, laughing cheerfully even when dealing with potential criminals and individuals that he finds scary. He speaks candidly, such as when suggesting that hatless Ralsei should get plastic surgery for his face.
The Royal Coat Rack is initially seen past the entrance to Forest, in a room to the north of the first hazard area. Along with Ball, he guards the chest that contains the Ragger.
Upon interacting, Royal Coat Rack begs them to take the Ragger, a hand-me-down item which no longer fits him, and use it to defeat King. If Kris opens the chest first before interacting with Royal Coat Rack, he acknowledges this, but still encourages the party to keep it.[2] Afterwards, he explains that he was the Royal Coat Rack at Card Castle before King fired the whole staff.
If the party gets past King without harming anyone, the Royal Coat Rack is among the celebrants at Card Castle. Again accompanied by Ball, he congratulates the party on their victory, excited to become a coat hanger again. He adds that he asked Seam to come to the castle too, but "there was no interest".
In Chapter 2, the Royal Coat Rack appears in front of Ralsei's castle, and says that he will hold Ralsei's hat until he needs it, while proclaiming he will pretend to be a wizard with it. Later, if the library Fountain is sealed without harming anyone, he is weirded out by a bouncing Trashy, who hopes to make new friends.
In Chapter 4, the Royal Coat Rack can be found in Tenna's room, in the second floor of Ralsei's castle. He now holds a chef's hat and a cowboy hat, worn by Rouxls Kaard and Susie respectively during Chapter 3. He seems to have permanently misplaced Ralsei's hat, and recommends plastic surgery for him as a solution if he wants to hide his face again. However, Ralsei's hat reappears in the Dark World and his room in Chapter 5. Upon opening a cleared SAVE file and reentering Castle Town, he can be seen dancing in a circle alongside the other Card Kingdom Darkners, but cannot be interacted with.

- The Royal Coat Rack's Light World form is most likely a jack, or knucklebone, from the ancient Greek game of the same name, as shown both by his appearance and his early name, "jack".
- This is further implicated by his relationship with Ball, who would most likely also be a knucklebones component.
