Hidden music tracks

From Deltarune Wiki
(Redirected from Kris piano lancer waltz)

The hidden music tracks in Deltarune are not officially listed on its soundtracks. These range from full-length tracks to short jingles, and occasional sound effects. Most of these music tracks play in various Chapters, or are Weird Route-exclusive tracks.

Non-typical gameplay music is also documented, such as Dogcheck songs, and music hidden on the official website.

General in-game tracks

Tracks that play in various Chapters in Deltarune. The list is sorted in alphabetical order.

alley_ambience

This track plays in the Trash Zone in Chapter 2 and during Tenna's bonus round's Cooking Show segment in Chapter 3. It uses the same ambience as Digital Roots.

alt_church_lobby

This track plays in the 2nd Sanctuary's starting area in Chapter 4. Played reversed, it is a chopped-up version of Dark Place played at 57.5% speed.[1]

ambientwater_weird

This sound plays when the river appears in Ralsei's explanation of Dark Worlds in Chapter 3. It is an echoing variant of the water sound that is used in some areas in Undertale's Waterfall and in the River Person rooms.

It also plays on deltarune.com/chair/ upon clicking on the chair. It was revealed in 2022, before the release of Chapter 3.

AUDIO_DRONE

This track plays on the Chapter Select screen, as the voice speaks to the player before the introduction, during a Game Over in Chapter 1, and after losing to the Knight with Chapter 3 completion data.

baci_distort

This track plays before Tenna starts the bonus round of TV Time in Chapter 3. It is a loud and distorted version of the And Now For Today's Sponsors...! track. It plays 50% faster in-game.[2]

berdly_descend

Berdly overworld rose.gif
Berdly descending with a rose in his mouth

This track plays when Berdly descends with a rose in his mouth after the Ferris wheel cutscene in Queen's Mansion. This track plays 30% slower in-game.[3]

board4_rhythm

This track plays during Tenna's bonus round's Rock Video segment. It is a chopped-up version of NOW'S YOUR CHANCE TO BE A. In-game, it distorts and slows down.

board_ocean

This sound plays when disembarking near the Ice Palace on the Island Board in Chapter 3. In the Sword Route, it replaces SWORD whenever HERO_SWORD reaches LV MAX in the first 2 games and plays by default in the last game.

It also plays on deltarune.com/d_a_m_n_y_o_u_t_e_n_n_a after clicking on the crossed-out TV, then on the upper noise square when scrolling to the bottom of the static noise page. It was revealed in 2022, before the release of Chapter 3.

ch4_first_intro

This track plays upon booting up Chapter 4 without a SAVE file. It is a shorter, alternate version of Neverending Night.

charjoined

This short fanfare track plays when Susie properly joins the party in Chapter 1, when Noelle joins the party in Chapter 2, and the study group outside her house in Chapter 4.

Cool Beat (coolbeat)

Cool Beat (JP: クールなビート) plays in Sweet Cap'n Cakes shop in Chapter 2 when selecting "Talk" and then choosing the topic "Performance". It also appears in their shop in Castle Town when choosing "Play Music", where it is displayed as "Cool Beat". It shares a title with a track used elsewhere in Chapter 2. It is originally from Undertale as mus_cool_beat, specifically the bed lump movement while in the large bed in the MTT Resort.

elevator

This track plays when riding the elevators in Card Castle. When playing during the elevator cutscene, the track starts at 10% speed and 60% volume[4] before gradually speeding up for a while.[5] It then slows back down to 10% shortly before arriving at Floor 1F.[6] When riding the elevators outside of the cutscene, this track begins playing at 50% speed and 70% volume,[7] then gradually speeds up before slowing back down to 0% speed and 0% volume.[8]

findher

This track plays in gacharoom_unknown. It is a guitar-only variant of Lost Girl. It also plays on deltarune.com/dess after clicking on Dess's guitar.

honksong

This track plays nearby Hometown's library at the start of Chapter 2. Some of the car honks quote several Undertale themes, including Your Best Friend, NGAHH!!, Dogsong, and Metal Crusher.

jitterbug_muffled

This track plays at Kris's room at the end of Chapter 4. It is a muffled and slowed-down version of The Ol' Jitterbug.

lancer_annoying

This track plays in Castle Town when returning near the end of Chapter 4. It is an alternate version of Vs. Lancer from the DELTARUNE Chapter 1 OST. Lancer can be seen playing the tuba, dancing in a circle with the worm, Mr. Elegance, a B Blockler, Top Chef, and the Royal Coat Rack.

man

This track plays in hidden rooms where the man appears, exclusively in Chapter 1 and Chapter 2. It is also used in the hidden "Nowhere" room in Chapter 3, albeit heavily slowed down.

An earlier version of the song was created by Toby Fox as a fan song titled "waltz of seccom masada" for the game Yume Nikki, being part of a collection of songs called "made up yume nikkis" that was posted on Toby's Tumblr blog.[9]

man_nes

This track plays in Mancountry in Chapter 3. Unlike man, which has different instruments, this track is identical to the version on Toby Fox's Tumblr blog, where it is given the title "waltz of seccom masada (8 bit)".[9]

man_2

This track plays in the hidden room where the man is found in Chapter 4. It is a new arrangement of the melody from man and man_nes.

mus_knightthought

This track is a pitched down and shortened version of Breath. It is used in Chapter 4 for the "Think of The Knight" cutscene as well as when the Titan starts healing itself.[10]

ocean

This track plays in Chapter 1 after Kris and Susie enter the school closet and fall into ??????. The sound cuts out abruptly after the black screen when it transits back to Kris appearing in their Dark World attire. This sound does not play if Kris sleeps in their bed and wakes up at ??????.

It also plays in Chapter 2 and 4 if Kris idles at the end of the lake path. In Chapter 2, this plays when Kris and Susie sit beside each other at the lake's shoreline.

Not to be confused with ocean from deltarune.com's d_a_m_n_y_o_u_t_e_n_n_a page, where the track corresponds in the game to board_ocean.

pianpian

This sound effect is used in Chapter 4 after Kris plays the piano to unlock the door leading to the Dark Fountain in the Old Man's Study. The song consists of only a piano with repeating notes, but slowly becomes muffled and fades out.

An alternate arrangement, pianpian plays on deltarune.com/kris_dreemurr_kris. It was revealed in 2022, before the release of Chapter 4.

sadchord2

This track plays in the windows and ROOTS room in Chapter 4, behind the window that also leads to the Chapter's Egg room.

This track also plays on deltarune.com/lostwheretheforestwouldgrow when clicking on the blue tree, where it is labeled as chord. This track will only play three times, as clicking on the tree for a fourth time will redirect the user to deltarune.com/window. This was teased shortly before the release of Chapter 4.

shinkansen

This track plays when the party rides carts in the basement of Queen's Mansion before Spamton NEO appears.

The track's name is a reference to Shinkansen, a network of high-speed railway lines in Japan.

smallpiano_room

This track plays in the piano room located before the Dark Zone and the Jackenstein fight. It is a slowed-down version of a part of the intro of the Dark Sanctuary track.

strongwind_loop

This track plays when the Knight tries to blow the party away in the beginning of the Dark Sanctuary and when the Sound of Justice jumps at Susie in 2nd Sanctuary.

snd_act_perform

This track plays when the Perform ACT is used against an Organikk. The track contains a portion of the Dark Sanctuary leitmotif.

snd_act_perform_better

This track plays when the Perform ACT is used against an Organikk, if one of Wicabel's Tuning ACTs was used to boost the effectiveness of musical ACTs. The track contains a portion of the Dark Sanctuary leitmotif.

snd_mike_reset

This sound effect plays when resetting the high scores in the Mike minigames. It is also in Undertale as snd_grandpatemi, where it plays when refusing Temmie the Temmie Flakes. It is reminiscent of the intro to the Undertale track Metal Crusher.

w

This track plays at the end of the introduction, when the player's vessel is discarded.

wind_highplace

This track is first introduced in Chapter 2, where it plays on the Rooftop of Queen's Mansion.

In Chapter 3, this track plays in the couch cliffs, when the party visits the Cold Place for the first time, and during Tenna's explanation of his deal with the Knight. If the Knight is defeated, the track plays when it slashes Susie and Ralsei. The track is also played upon inspecting the shelter at the end of the Chapter.

This track also plays in Chapter 4 when interacting with the Dreemurr residence Fountain, as well as the Dark Sanctuary and 2nd Sanctuary Dark Fountains, and at the crumbling tower summit in the 3rd Sanctuary.

Ralsei's singing

Ralsei battle singing hatless.gif
Ralsei singing

These tracks are performed by Ralsei and alternate with each use of the Lullaby ACT against Ponman, the Sing ACT against Susie, or R-Action against Organikk. They contain a small portion of The Legend leitmotif.

snd_ralseising1

This track also always plays when using the LullabyX ACT against Mizzle.

snd_ralseising2

Kris's piano songs

In Chapter 4, after Kris captures the SOUL in the kitchen of Noelle's House, the SOUL can return to the kitchen a second time. An easter egg occurs where Kris slowly walks off-screen to the right to play eight consecutive songs on the piano. Only the right stereo channel plays, to reflect the direction the music would be coming from. Each of these songs is a recording of a real piano performance, rather than being made in a sequencer like most songs in the game. The list is sorted in the order that Kris plays them in-game.

kris_piano_sevenfour

Kris's first song. The track's filename is a reference to the 7/4 time signature, although it would more likely be written with a 7/8 time signature.

kris_piano_quiz

Kris's second song. The track is a piano rendition of Query?.

kris_piano_lancer_waltz

Kris's third song. This track is a piano rendition of the theme Lancer, with the waltz timing making it resemble Acid Tunnel of Love.

kris_piano_rouxls

Kris's fourth song. This track is a piano rendition of It's Pronounced "Rules".

kris_piano_waitingroom

Kris's fifth song. This track is a rendition of the section of TV WORLD that contains the Hip Shop motif.

kris_piano_shop

Kris's sixth song. This track is a piano rendition of Shop 3, shown in the UNDERTALE/DELTARUNE NEWSLETTER WINTER 2025.

kris_piano_last_prophecy

Kris's seventh song. This track uses The Legend leitmotif.

kris_piano_prophecy

Kris's eighth and final song. Piano that may not be played that well is a version of this track played approximately at 75% speed.

Weird Route tracks

While Undertale's Genocide Route simply alters the speed of most background music tracks to provide an unsettling atmosphere, the equivalent Weird Route instead uses alternate tracks encoded as their own files.

snd_ominous

This jingle plays when performing actions that continue the Weird Route, such as freezing all enemies in an area in Chapter 2. In Chapter 4, it plays at 80% speed.

ominous_worse is an extended version of this track.

snd_ominous_cancel

This jingle plays when the Weird Route is aborted. It's an altered snd_ominous.

cybercity_alt

This track plays in Cyber City on the Weird Route. The track is an altered arrangement of WELCOME TO THE CITY that loops the original version's intro melody at a lower tempo with a somber tone. The file is played 20% faster in-game,[11] more closely resembling the original WELCOME TO THE CITY.

d

This track plays before the fight with Berdly on the Weird Route, when Noelle realizes he is her and Kris's opponent. It can also be accessed from deltarune.com/chapter5 by clicking on the number 2. The in-game filename plus its extension spells "dogg".

berdly_battle_heartbeat_true

This tense track plays during the fight with Berdly on the Weird Route. It resembles the percussion at the beginning of Smart Race, as well as the sound of a heartbeat, as suggested by its filename.

me

This sound plays after the player reveals themselves to Noelle in the Chapter 4 Weird Route. It repeats as the conversation goes on.

From the Spamton Sweepstakes' Silence links, deltarune.com/chapter4/message reveals m and e when clicking on specific invisible objects. m is a copy of me with the first few seconds muted, and e is a reversed version of m.

sinedrone_danger_high

This track plays after the player prompts Kris to re-equip the ThornRing to Noelle for the first time. It starts playing at a low pitch and its speed keeps increasing until the ThornRing is re-equipped. A short, slowed-down version of this track, called sinedrone_danger exists in the game files; however, it is never used in-game.

This track resembles the ambience from the Mother series when played at lower pitches.

ominous_worse

This sound plays after the ThornRing is forcibly re-equipped to Noelle. It is a longer version of snd_ominous.

tinnitus

This ringing noise plays as Kris violently kicks the SOUL around inside a trash can in the cutscene after they are directed to re-equip the ThornRing to Noelle.

The word "tinnitus" refers to the sensation of hearing a ringing sound when no external sound is present, usually caused by damage to the ear. The file is most likely named after this as it is also a ringing sound.

Dogcheck tracks

These tracks play when triggering a Dogcheck, a fail-safe that is activated when attempting to access inaccessible or nonexistent rooms.

Some of these tracks are present in the soundtrack for Chapters 3&4: Big City Board in Chapter 3, and variants of And Now For Today's Sponsors...! and Glowing Snow on the official Deltarune website.

Dog Check (dogcheck)

This track plays when a Dogcheck is triggered in Chapter 1, in which the Annoying Dog is seen sleeping.[12] It was officially titled on the Undertale 6th anniversary stream as a "RARE" track, along with the simple description of "Rare". This track is an arrangement of Dogsong from Undertale with part of Don't Forget at the end.

An alternate version of this track plays in the UNDERTALE 8th Anniversary merchandise video with an arrangement of Home from Undertale at the end. In Chapter 3, it also plays briefly during the credits of the Second Board.

It is referred to within the code as SONG_THAT_EMERGES_FROM_A_SLEEPING_DOG.[13]

alarm_titlescreen

This track plays when a Dogcheck is triggered in Chapter 2, in which the Annoying Dog drives its car across the screen accompanied by several smaller cars at varying speeds. The filename may imply it was originally made as a title screen theme for the scrapped UNDERTALE Alarm Clock.

annoying_prophecy

This track plays when a Dogcheck is triggered in Chapter 4, in which a faceless Annoying Dog floats in place with IMAGE_DEPTH as its background, akin to the various prophecy tapestries seen throughout the Chapter.

Tracks hidden on deltarune.com

Hidden music tracks, videos with audio, and other sound effects appear in various pages on the official Deltarune website, most of which were added during the Spamton Sweepstakes charity event. Some sound and video assets are in multiple formats, in which case the default version of the file that the site calls is listed first, and any other extensions to the same filename that can be accessed directly on the site are listed in parentheses.

Main page tracks

The Spamton Sweepstakes page picks from the five below MIDI songs to play randomly.

midi-dialtone

midi-dialtone plays on the Spamton's Silence page, which depicts the alternate ending for the Spamton Sweepstakes event. It is a MIDI variant of Dialtone.

The file was initially found on the Deltarune website on September 17, 2022,[15] but was never assigned to a page. It was originally discovered by brute-forcing its URL before it was removed completely and replaced with the website's room_dogcheck. This audio file was eventually restored following the release of the May 2025 Newsletter.

h

h plays after clicking number 5 on the deltarune.com/chapter5/ page. It is a somber, acoustic version of A Town Called Hometown, with only four seconds of it being heard when listened to.

ma

ma can be accessed from deltarune.com/chapter5/ by clicking on the space between the numbers 2 and 4, where 3 might be expected to appear. ma also plays on deltarune.com/romb/ when specific invisible objects are clicked. It is the sound that plays when the Shadow Mantle holder flies away after defeating them in the Sword Route of Chapter 3.

midi-holiday-country

midi-holiday-country plays on deltarune.com/code/ and deltarune.com/code/comments/ when the play button is clicked. It is a MIDI rendition of Jingle Bells.

midi-holiday_country

midi-holiday_country (note the underscore instead of a second hyphen) plays on deltarune.com/catpetterz/ as a version of midi-holiday-country. The song is a rendition of Jingle Bells, but heavily corrupted. The song's tempo randomly speeds up and slows down as the song progresses.

face

face plays on deltarune.com/chair/ after the chair is clicked enough times and deltarune.com/rarecats/ upon clicking 100 cats. It is a short clip resembling a laughing sound. In Chapter 3, an extended version of this clip plays as FRIEND advances towards the screen during Ralsei's explanation of the Dark Worlds. This "laugh" also plays when killing a FRIEND during the Shadow Mantle holder boss fight.

Outside the game files

Other tracks publicly released around Deltarune that are not directly part of the soundtracks.

DOGTARUNE (Trailer)

DOGTARUNE (Trailer) (JP: DOGTARUNE(トレーラー)) was used in the 2019 DELTARUNE Chapter 1 Spoiler-Free Trailer. It is included on the UNDERTALE + deltarune FAN ENCORE CD, where Toby explained that he had nothing in his mind when writing the track.[16]
