gacharoom_unknown

From Deltarune Wiki

room_ch3_gacharoom_unknown is a secret room in Chapter 3 of Deltarune. It is accessible only once from the Green Room, specifically through the ball machine inside the B-rank room.

Method

The B-rank room after the secret is activated

The process involves inserting exactly 1225 POINTs into the ball machine. This transaction does not deduct any POINTs.

Upon successfully inputting the correct amount, Ralsei and Susie disappear, along with the sign located in the bottom-left corner of the room, leaving Kris alone. The background music abruptly stops, the room adopts a bluish tint, and the south exit becomes inaccessible. In order to leave the room, Kris can only enter the ball machine.

On console versions, the border changes to the same dark blue color as the rest of the out-of-bounds surrounding the room.

Main story

The blue ball machine found in the room

The room itself is exceptionally large, has a blue tint, and consists of an endless looping maze of red carpet strips that lead nowhere. There is no collision in the room. In the background, findher plays.

The only interactable object in the room is a blue gachapon machine, smaller than the one in the B-rank room. Interacting with it triggers the following text:

You used the machine.
... The capsule came out.
Inside was something hard like lacquer.
It was a small, dark, triangle.
You tried to take it...
But, it slipped through your hand
And you couldn't find it anymore.

The audio cuts out, the textbox speed slows down and displays the final message:

You couldn't find

your hand.

After the interaction, the screen fades to black, and Kris returns to the B-rank room. The game then resumes as normal. The ball machine, the adjacent machine, and the bottom-left sign are all permanently gone. Susie and Ralsei remain absent until Kris exits the room.

If the Shadow Mantle was obtained before the TripTicket on the Sword Route, the TripTicket can be found where the ball machine used to be after exiting the room.

Trivia

  • The room is closely associated with Dess. The only track that plays in the room is findher, which is strongly connected to Dess. The number of POINTs required to enter the room, 1225, is a recurring number in Deltarune, usually connected to her.
    • The small triangle found by Kris may resemble the pick of a guitar (which is sometimes coated in lacquer), an instrument associated with Dess and present in her room in Chapter 4.
  • There is a fortune from the red ball machine which seems to reference this room, and implies that the triangle dispensed by the blue machine can also be dispensed by the red machine.[1]
  • This room may be inspired by the Mini Hell area from Yume Nikki, with both being red, large, and looping mazes that have an obscure method of finding them.
  • This room features the only in-game use of the music track findher.
