Light Candy

I've added the Version History section for Light Candy, but SnorlaxMonster and I don't know why it got toggled for the Switch. It's confusing. SnorlaxMonster couldn't get it on the latest PC version either. I also tried PC with LTS v1.19 and didn't get it. I also tried the Switch 2025 demo with all slots and didn't get it.

That, and deltarune.com/help/ states it should only be the icon, but the old 2021 demo somehow had the Light Candy available for a default. Unfortunately that version can only be checked if someone hasn't deleted it, and I have no idea if it somehow got toggled as a default for Switch 2, PS4/PS5 versions too... we might need more help to verify if it's all consoles or just the Switch version. — Link [ T | C ] 02:30, 10 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

I noticed those edits, thank you again for the information. I can only check information on my PC copy of the game since I don't own it on console. Also I apologize for phrasing my edit summary harshly, I should have been thinking about different consoles and versions when I reverted it to the PC default, and I was feeling frustrated seeing a lot of my (what I felt were informative) edits removed. Regardless, my edit summary still could have been worded objectively instead of as an accusation, so that's my fault.
I assume that no Light Candy is the definite default, since the Undertale 6th anniversary stream similarly does not have Noelle give Susie chalk. Not really relevant, but it's a little interesting. Anyways probably just an error on the Nintendo Switch that got reverted during bug fixes. HylianAngel (talk) 02:49, 10 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
You're welcome, and you are fine! Besides, usually the console version doesn't have an usual difference like that. SnorlaxMonster and I looked into the Light Candy about 8 hours ago, and I just happened to not be at home to add the Switch difference to the articles. At most, we were both confused by the Light Candy more than anything, and SnorlaxMonster went offline a little bit after we looked into it.
Thanks for helping with editing the article, by the way! I know it's a lot to cover right there, and you've been doing a good job editing in general. — Link [ T | C ] 03:49, 10 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Most items: Open chest, or buy from shop, defeat this one guy, item get.
The humble box of chalk: You may or may not get this chalk depending on the GAME VERSION, your literal video game console, the status of your COMPLETION FILE, and if you TRANSFERRED from the DEMO, and if you're using a new or old account, and- HylianAngel (talk) 23:55, 10 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
It's ridiculous! Why does the console versions seemingly have a special privilege over whether or not Noelle wants to give a box of chalk?! I wasn't at home all this time, but I'm going to try completing Chapter 2 on the demo to see if anything changes. That's the one thing I can think of... — Link [ T | C ] 02:31, 11 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Lord of the Hammer

Hello! My apologies if I happened to write to you at an inopportune time. I'd just like to wonder if this bit on the "Media in Deltarune" page

"Although Lord of the Hammer is a book series, the Hammer of Justice speaks about it in the context of it being a single book containing only 5 chapters; its final sixth chapter never got written, nor the next intended book."

can be changed somehow. Given that LotH is a series, It seems that Gerson was talking about the books by calling them "chapters" (as in, Book 1 = Chapter 1 of the LotH series, Book 2 = Chapter 2 and so on). He only refers to LotH as "the old tale", which I believe is too vague to claim that he was talking about it as a single book. Clint Barton Fan (talk) 07:55, 23 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Sure, feel free to change it to mention that he could potentially be referring to the books as chapters metaphorically. I think there's something sus going on though, since it's strange that there's never any Light World mentions that Gerson never finished the series, and it's strange that he would pretend that each book is a chapter when he could easily go Book 1, Book 2, etc. (but of course him referring to them by chapters makes the connection to Deltarune the actual game much clearer). I'm very busy irl atm, but I can also try to fix the wording when I have time.
And don't worry if it's an inopportune time, it's not a big deal for me and I'll just respond whenever I get the chance. Thank you for your concern though! HylianAngel (talk) 08:11, 23 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Alright, thank you for your answer! Clint Barton Fan (talk) 08:13, 23 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

About your map edits

I’ve noticed your edits to Map:?????? and wanted to ask if you are trying to edit the page by hand.

If so, there is an easier way to edit map pages. Check this Discussions post for more details. F-sharp (talk | contribs) 03:15, 28 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

I did try to follow those instructions, but I'm having trouble running git on my computer. Thank you for asking me though! I am using Tiled to obtain the coordinates, so it's not terrible. I don't really have any interest in adding descriptions, but adding the markers is fun. HylianAngel (talk) 03:17, 28 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
There's an issue, though, that the ground truth for these maps is in Tiled files currently present in our maps repository, and the information on the wiki is not being synchronized back to these files. So the next time someone wants to edit a map using our recommended way of doing it, it will end up overwriting manual changes if those weren't added back to the Tiled map.
I'm currently working on a more user friendly way to set up map publishing without having to use either Python or Git, so once that's done I'm going to update the thread with new instructions! KockaAdmiralac (talk) 20:16, 30 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
That does seem like an issue if wiki users want to make smaller changes in general. Sorry my changes are big and not being reflected in the repository. HylianAngel (talk) 20:21, 30 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
I'm on step 8 of the "Setting up your map annotation environment (complex)" process, but I'm not sure where convert.py is located at. HylianAngel (talk) 01:41, 31 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
I just deleted it in my last commit, that was super recent and I just haven't gotten to updating the instructions because we had some issues with macOS users using the extension.
But to set up publishing to the wiki the process should now be even simpler:
  1. Make sure you have the latest version of the repository
  2. Open maps/deltarune/deltarune.tiled-project in Tiled
  3. In the top right corner, it should prompt you to enable extensions, and you should enable them
  4. Under the File menu, an option "Publish to wiki" should appear, which when clicked publishes the current map to the wiki (there's a login process you have to go through, but that should be intuitive)
Can you try these instructions instead? KockaAdmiralac (talk) 02:05, 31 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
It worked, unfortunately I think it uploaded it to the wrong spot because file names can't have question marks in them. (Should be at Map:?????? instead of Map:Cliffs.) HylianAngel (talk) 03:00, 31 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Oh, that must be a bug in the extension, I probably forgot to account for that case. Sorry! Fixing it tomorrow. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 03:25, 31 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the amazing extension! I'll update Map:Field, Map:Great Board, Map:Forest, Map:Card Castle, Map:Couch Cliffs with my new changes via the extension so it gets synchronized with the bank. HylianAngel (talk) 03:36, 31 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
I pushed a fix for this, download the latest repository and you should be able to publish the Cliffs map to the correct location!
Can you share the new Tiled files you've edited? It would be good to have the latest versions in the repository so that everyone can continue annotating from those. We realized today that there are now three separate annotations for Forest, so it would be good to merge them. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 19:59, 31 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Oh what, I thought that was the purpose of using the extension. What do you mean by three separate annotations for Forest? Were there other users working on it? I'd be happy to share the actual files. HylianAngel (talk) 20:06, 31 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Mention of Deltarune in introductive sentences when the chapter is already indicated

Hey, sorry to bother you.

Regarding the remark you wrote in justification of your last edit on Sound of Justice, since the reader is already on the Deltarune Wiki, they are most probably already aware of which game the page is related to. When the Chapter is already indicated, shouldn't we get rid of the mention of Deltarune then? It seems very redundant to me.

I agree that in some cases, especially for items that can be obtained in multiple chapters (ex: White Ribbon), the generic use of "Deltarune" is more adapted, but otherwise I do not really see the use of it.

At the end of the day, you know better than me, and I'll follow your lead, but I wanted to bring this consideration to your attention. Yotti 47 (talk) 21:40, 5 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

My opinion isn't any more or less important than any other users, even though I have a lot of edits on this wiki and some other video game-related wikis. I think it would be better to have a discussion about it instead of mass-removing it from every page without community consensus though.
It can be seen as redundant since this is the Deltarune Wiki, but while almost every page on the wiki is related to the video game, some are related to other aspects, like the Spamton Sweepstakes ARG, or the developers, or other concepts that are outside of the game. This is one of the reasons why I think it's important for the lead sentence to mention the game title, it's better to be clearer than having the reader have to make an assumption. Also, while most of the readerbase will be people familiar with Deltarune, it's helpful for the portion who have no idea about the game. Chapter 2 of what? Some sort of book? Stating Deltarune along with the chapter number removes all doubt for those who are not avid Deltarune gamers. HylianAngel (talk) 21:59, 5 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
Well, I guess I'll start fixing the mess I started then. I'm very sorry for the trouble, and will make sure to consult the community in the future. My apologies. Yotti 47 (talk) 22:17, 5 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
There's no need to apologize at all. There doesn't seem to be anything related to the correct formatting for this in the manual of style page (that I could find), so we're left trying to figure this out without any guidance. I think some users would agree that it would be more proper to implement the lead sentence in the manner you stated, so I think a discussion before changing it back either way would make sense at this point. HylianAngel (talk) 22:19, 5 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
Fine, let's do so then (will you be the one to create the discussion topic, or should I do it?) Yotti 47 (talk) 22:32, 5 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
If it's for the discussion board (instead of a Talk: space page), I would prefer if you could create this topic if you don't mind. HylianAngel (talk) 22:34, 5 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
Got it Yotti 47 (talk) 22:40, 5 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Bratty

You're welcome! Honestly, the Pizzarina bit in Chapter 2 completely went under the radar for me as well. I was originally checking to watch Bratty talk, because I was double-checking that the trash can dialogue is the only time where her mouth in the overworld doesn't move... — Link [ T | C ] 03:33, 14 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

We can't read, we're Deltarune fans. HylianAngel (talk) 03:40, 14 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for helping out with formatting

Thank you reformatting trivia I add I’m not really that good at it so thank you!! By the way can we cite Reddit posts MMK-001 (talk) 01:36, 30 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Sure thing!
There isn't a template specifically for citing Reddit, just these ones. But if you're truly lazy, you can just paste the URL inside of the ref tags, lol. A couple of citations are already like that, for example, C. Round#References. The Jevil page formats it a little nicer (reference #17 at the moment). Template:Cite news would be the closest template, but it's a little annoying since it won't publish properly without almost all of the parameters. Don't be afraid to just post the URL if you really need to get the information out there. It's not ideal, but it's better than not including it at all, and another user may fix it in the future. HylianAngel (talk) 01:48, 30 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Should we add an article for the Mooncloud Key Card

I feel like we should add an article for the Mooncloud Key Card as it is an item and it is noteworthy enough for an article (seriously there’s a whole side quest for it). Also if you’re wondering why I’m asking you, you were the first person I found and I don’t where to ask this anyway MMK-001 (talk) 01:55, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

I think that would be a good idea. There's even an unused image in the picture files that would be a great candidate for the infobox image, and at least two pages already mention this item.
Honestly, I was tempted to make a page for it myself, but I wasn't too familiar with creating unused item pages. I also wasn't 100% sure if it actually had to have some amount of implementation in the game to be a page candidate, since most of the unused items can be readded by simply editing a value in the save file but I don't think Mooncloud Key Card can be. But anyways yeah, I agree that it would be a good page to have! HylianAngel (talk) 02:09, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Yeah I also think it would be good idea and I’ve seen a video on the side quest mostly restored and have browsed tcrf and I would make the page myself…… if I was good at making pages and formatting which I’m not, I’m more of a guy that adds links and adds on to pages. But if someone could make the foundation of the page I could try and help with it. By the way the Mooncloud Key Card can’t be edited into your save file but I don’t think disqualifies it as the Life Dew also can’t. MMK-001 (talk) 02:34, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Oh good point with Life Dew! If someone else doesn't get around to it before me, I might make the page. At the moment, I'm doing other tiny fixes for the wiki(s). HylianAngel (talk) 02:38, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Ok MMK-001 (talk) 02:39, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
By the way can you re-format the trivia I added for Shuttah it just looks wrong, but I don’t know how to fix it. MMK-001 (talk) 02:41, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Sure, I'll fix it in a bit. HylianAngel (talk) 02:48, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thank you MMK-001 (talk) 02:53, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
No problem! HylianAngel (talk) 03:38, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Well someone made the page if you can even call it that. MMK-001 (talk) 03:01, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
The enthusiasm from unregistered user is beautiful, though since it was one-sentence length total upon creation, ideally it should have been deleted until it could be created for real. It's not good to pressure people to make it quickly. Anyways, not a huge deal, it can be made into a nicer page eventually. HylianAngel (talk) 03:38, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Oh I wasn’t trying to be rude I just thought it was funny that after editing a page I come back see the page is created and it’s just one sentence. MMK-001 (talk) 03:42, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
But yeah I guess I did come off as a little rude. MMK-001 (talk) 03:47, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
No no, I meant unregistered user creating a purposely bad page to pressure other people to improve it quickly is not a good thing. I should have worded that more clearly. HylianAngel (talk) 04:12, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Oh ok MMK-001 (talk) 04:16, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
My alt account made the page for the Controller that Elnina gives you to get the key card MMK-001 (talk) 20:37, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Do you have the sprite for the Key Card I can’t find it anywhere MMK-001 (talk) 04:08, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
I uploaded it at File:Mooncloud Key Card item.png. You can see new uploads at Special:NewFiles, and you can find all of the item-related images at Category:Item files. HylianAngel (talk) 04:12, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Alright thanks by the way where did you even find it MMK-001 (talk) 04:16, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
I used UndertaleModTool to extract the sprites from my Steam copy of Deltarune. Then I just looked under the name "board" since nearly all of The Legend of Tenna-related sprites have that word in the file name. Love UndertaleModTool so much, bless the creators. HylianAngel (talk) 04:19, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Yeah it’s an amazing tool MMK-001 (talk) 04:23, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
By the way unrelated but can extract Zapper’s unused Sharpshoot graphics. (If you didn’t know in the unused encounter of Shadowguy and Zapper, when using Sharpshoot, Zapper will have an unused sprite, as Zapper and Shadowguy are never encountered together.) MMK-001 (talk) 04:28, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
I need for trivia in Zapper’s page MMK-001 (talk) 04:29, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

The related sprites are listed under the names spr_zapper_sharpshoot and spr_zapper_spare_sharpshoot, but it would take some time to assemble them into a gif, and the color-changing buttons add another layer of complexity (unless the buttons are left at default white). 05:40, 1 October 2025 (UTC)

Ok MMK-001 (talk) 12:56, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Hey it's me on an alt account. Not to rush you but did you make it into a gif ~2025-86258 (unregistered) (talk) 19:14, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
I'm unsure if I can make the requested gif since it's kind of complex. I've made a small handful of gifs, but I'm not good at doing it efficiently, and my time is occupied with some other wiki edits. I provided the file names in case you wanted to create it. HylianAngel (talk) 22:29, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
ok MMK-001 (talk) 22:37, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
By the way I added a few more pages on other unused items that can’t be added to your save file MMK-001 (talk) 22:38, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Nice! HylianAngel (talk) 22:40, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Your welcome!! MMK-001 (talk) 22:42, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Speaking of unused items that can’t be added to your save file, I was browsing tcrf and I saw something about an unused voucher item in Board 2. The page didn’t say anything about its function other than it was supposed to be purchased with 1000 POINT’s. I uploaded the sprite to the wiki but I’m not sure if it qualifies for a page. MMK-001 (talk) 22:45, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Idk either. HylianAngel (talk) 04:54, 3 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
If you ever come back to this talk here’s a progress report. The Mooncloud Key Card page is better than it was before but it’s still lacking and needs improvement. I made a page about the controller that Elnina gives to you and it’s going alright other than bit of refinement. And I add a page about the unused hookshot item in the Legend of Tenna, it’s pretty much complete. And I’m still trying to figure out what the Voucher is and what it does. Also I’m drawing Undertale and Deltarune characters. MMK-001 (talk) 04:43, 3 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
That's cool, I'm still working on other wiki things, so idk when I'll be able to get to proofreading/cleaning up those pages. I took a quick glance, and they look good so far, but I think my biggest concern is that it would be better to avoid second-person language (using the word "you") when possible, per the MoS. Kris/the player are better words when applicable. HylianAngel (talk) 04:54, 3 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Alright I’ll work on that tomorrow, I gotta go to sleep MMK-001 (talk) 05:03, 3 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
I fixed all uses of you MMK-001 (talk) 23:34, 3 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Also I found out a bit more about the voucher. So Tenna was supposed to give it to you probably after answering Sphinx-Tenna’s quiz (he was supposed to appear on the Island Board going on vacation.) and it was supposed to give you 1000 POINT’s somehow, this probably related to the bucket of POINT’s that is unused. I’ll try and go in the code and try and spawn it in. MMK-001 (talk) 23:38, 3 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Also the hookshot and Elnina’s controller don’t appear in the item nav box for some reason MMK-001 (talk) 23:42, 3 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

The navbox templates are located in Category:Navboxes. You can add new items to the item navbox at Template:Navbox items, just follow the same format as other items in the list. HylianAngel (talk) 23:52, 3 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Alright thanks MMK-001 (talk) 23:56, 3 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Progress update. I’m going insane trying to spawn in the voucher even when I place down the object that’s supposed to spawn it in nothing happens I’ve even put it on board 2 specifically and yet nothing happens and I’ve tried many other things but it’s still not working here’s the name of the object in case you want to try: obj_b2sphinxvoucher MMK-001 (talk) 02:40, 4 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
I spawned it in by deleting the coordinates that it sets it to spawn at collecting it gives you 1000 POINT’s and Tenna will say “congratulations kids you’ve earned it” MMK-001 (talk) 19:50, 4 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Also Sphinx-Tenna and quizzes were supposed to be on board 2, where you had complete quizzes to find Q’s which were parts of Sphinx-Tenna’s sunglasses and after finding them he would start a quiz and after completing the quiz he would presumably spawn in the voucher (doesn’t happen in-game) and go on vacation and float away. MMK-001 (talk) 19:54, 4 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
That's pretty neat! I saw some info on this unused content on the TCRF page here and here, and also in the text dump, but the additional context you provided paints a clearer picture of how they connect. HylianAngel (talk) 22:00, 4 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Yep it took awhile but I did connect them. But then what about the bucket of POINT’s. MMK-001 (talk) 22:28, 4 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Also I made a page for the Voucher and added information about sphinx-tenna’s appearance on the Island Board MMK-001 (talk) 22:34, 4 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

I guess we're even now...

You'll see why soon. — Link [ T | C ] 03:00, 5 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

??? I'm scared. HylianAngel (talk) 03:04, 5 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
There's nothing scary about finding a knocked-out potassium-deficient moss consumer anyways. Your timing was just too good. — Link [ T | C ] 03:11, 5 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Potassium HylianAngel (talk) 03:53, 5 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Oh, sorry if you placed a bunch of objects on the City Board map that need to be updated or something like that. HylianAngel (talk) 03:04, 5 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

So I saw your edit on the ribbon page

so I messing around with debug and I found you can make Susie get 2 ribbons (Ralsei can't though) it even stacks like with Kris so do we add that sprite. MMK-001 (talk) 23:14, 7 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Sure, I'll add it. HylianAngel (talk) 00:50, 8 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thanks MMK-001 (talk) 01:05, 8 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
By the way using debug mode Susie can also equip the pizza deodorant with the two ribbons. MMK-001 (talk) 02:18, 8 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Can you see my page about files

So for the past few days I’ve been working on a user page about files and what files Deltarune uses and what they do and stuff like that, so I wanted to see if you could help format it if you want to and see if it could be an actual mechanic page. Here’s the link if you want to help format it:User:MMK-001/Files MMK-001 (talk) 00:21, 11 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Not really sure if the wiki needs something this technical. One time I made an edit detailing Wrist Protector's value in the save file, which got reverted since it was too technical and niche. Which is understandable since the wiki should prioritize documenting exposed and expressed values instead of the internals. HylianAngel (talk) 00:28, 11 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Ok understandable MMK-001 (talk) 00:34, 11 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Also are we actually making a Bucket of POINTS page cause when I saw the file for it there was a red link for it. MMK-001 (talk) 00:35, 11 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Hey by the way is Debug Mode too technical or does it qualify cause it is really notable and I feel not having something about it is weird. MMK-001 (talk) 00:37, 11 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Also how do you upscale images seriously this has annoyed me for far too long. MMK-001 (talk) 00:40, 11 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
I’m sorry if I ask too much questions. MMK-001 (talk) 00:40, 11 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
I don't mind answering questions. The one thing is if you make an addendum to your existing message, if you could reply to my message instead of your existing message so it doesn't create unnecessary indents, that would be helpful for me and also make the conversations more readable. I keep having to update the indents formatting otherwise.
I think it could make enough sense to create an unused item page for the Bucket of POINTs if there's enough info for it, but I can't really say at the moment; I was mainly just fixing the wiki file names (like mentioned here) and standardizing the size (mentioned generically here). If the file gets deleted or if the file's description changes, there will no longer be a redlink towards Bucket of POINTs. It auto-generates that link with the {{File}} template and the proper file name. For example, File:Rhapsotea item.png has the File template, so the description automatically links to Rhapsotea, unless the description is specified.
Wiki images should be mainly at 200% the internal size in order to make it match what the game shows at the smallest natural display size of 640x480. There are some exceptions that are just generally understood but not stated anywhere:
In order to upscale sprites and downscale my screenshots, I use ImageMagick via the Command Prompt. Here's how to do it specifically.
Using the Command Prompt, first go into the folder containing the image you want to upscale (e.g. cd C:\Users\USER\Pictures\Deltarune\Sprites, or something similar). Then use this command to resize the image:
magick convert "sprite name here.png" -filter point -resize 200% +repage "sprite name here.png"
-filter point is so that the image is resized without interpolation, retaining the crispy pixels. +repage is optional but resets the coordinates so it doesn't remember the old ones if you want to make additional changes to the image size/cropping/padding. You can make the destination sprite name different so it creates a new image, or keep it the same so it overwrites the existing image (be careful when you do this though). My example command overwrites the image.
I'm lazy and like to generically batch-upscale a folder of images. So what I do instead is go up one folder and use this command. But beware and make sure you don't have anything valuable in there, because it will alter everything in the folder:
magick mogrify -path "Folder name here" -filter point -resize 200% +repage "Folder name here"/*.png
Also if you're just editing an image in a standard image editor, like paint.net, you can just resize by the "Nearest Neighbor" setting, or some image editors call it "None." This will also retain the crispy pixels. The pixel count must be accurate when downscaling, upscaling needs to be 200%, 300%, etc., or the image will not scale correctly.
Not sure on Debug Mode. I don't think even the Undertale Wiki has a page for that. HylianAngel (talk) 01:14, 11 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Ok thanks MMK-001 (talk) 01:26, 11 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Is there any part of the upscaling process that I can clarify, or any specific step that you might be stuck on? I noticed that you're still uploading sprites at the internal resolution rather than the display resolution (200%). HylianAngel (talk) 01:28, 13 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
how do you use the command prompt MMK-001 (talk) 01:43, 13 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
If you're using a Windows system, you should be able to located the Command Prompt with the search engine on your computer. Alternatively, you can directly open Command Prompt by first opening the Windows Run dialog box with the shortcut Win key + R, then inputting "cmd" and then Enter.
While the Command Prompt is active, you can navigate to specific folders on your computer by typing cd [full folder location here]. To grab the folder name, go to any folder on your computer and observe the address bar at the top, right-click it, then "Copy address as text." Now the folder location is copied to your clipboard as text and can be pasted. Use that for [full folder location here] when navigating around via Command Prompt. I posted a potential example location earlier, but here is the same example again, cd C:\Users\USER\Pictures\Deltarune\Sprites. The true path will depend on your actual folder names though.
If you're in C:\Users\USER\Pictures\Deltarune\Sprites, you can navigate up one folder by inputting cd .., which would bring you to C:\Users\USER\Pictures\Deltarune. If you wanted to navigate back into the Sprites folder, at that point you could input cd Sprites, and you would be in C:\Users\USER\Pictures\Deltarune\Sprites again. In this way, you can navigate up and down folders one-by-one if you don't want to input the full folder name. HylianAngel (talk) 02:11, 13 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Do you think pages for the unused chart editor and some mention of Rude Sword literally anywhere would be good

I feel we should have a page for the unused chart editor as I feel it is quite notable and having just a mention in trivia on a page isn’t enough, and the unused Rude Sword spell which is still notable isn’t even mentioned anywhere on wiki. I don’t think they are too technical, and having some mention somewhere on the wiki would be nice, I have user pages for both of them if you want to check them out:User:MMK-001/Chart Editor, User:MMK-001/Rude Sword. MMK-001 (talk) 13:00, 14 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

As it is at the moment, there aren't even individual pages for Susie/Ralsei/Noelle spells. Not to say there shouldn't be, but because of this, it makes it more difficult to justify a page just for Rude Sword. On the other hand, since each item, and some unused items already had individual pages, it was basically a non-question to create the missing Mooncloud Key Card, etc. item pages.
Chart Editor could be interesting, but given how it's mostly inaccessible, it might be better to leave it at minimal or basic coverage on the Rock Video page rather than detailed coverage. But I could see a positive argument for its own page, since there's some demand for the mostly inaccessible Debug Mode for the Undertale Wiki, as evidenced by the Special:SearchDigest there. I think if a competent Debug Mode page existed there, and maybe even here on Deltarune Wiki, that could give more credence to developing the Chart Editor page.
The other thing is, Debug Mode is referenced several times among both wikis, which would make its existence very helpful and useful. But Chart Editor is only relevant to the Rock Video minigame, which could be another reason to leave it as a simple footnote on the Rock Video page rather than its own page. Maybe even just a dedicated section on the Rock Video page would make more sense than an entirely dedicated page.
But I think it would be better to contact one of the staff members here for an opinion before publishing Rude Sword or Chart Editor. My specific opinion, which shouldn't be used as guiding gospel, is maybe a simple trivia about Rude Sword on the page of the character who was meant to use it (which would required lowering the amount of detail on your sandbox page unfortunately), and then maybe a dedicated section about the Chart Editor on the Rock Video page. Actually, it looks like Rude Sword does have dedicated information at Damage#Trivia, so I think we are okay on the Rude Sword front. HylianAngel (talk) 21:37, 14 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
I wasn’t thinking of a page for Rude Sword just a bigger mention somewhere. But yeah I’ll go ask a staff member. Also the City Board is inaccessible and we have a page for it, while yes the City Board is bigger, a unused mode is I feel notable enough for a page. MMK-001 (talk) 21:45, 14 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
City Board is an unused sprawling location with LOTS of events and activities, so it really had every reason in the book to deserve its own page.
I still feel Chart Editor info would fit well as maybe its own section on the Rock Video page rather than its own page. There have been several cases where big well-developed pages with multiple distinct concepts eventually got split into two, like SAVE/SAVE Point, Encounter/Game Over/Damage, so it could still happen, but I don't think we're at that point yet. Map compression

Hey, I saw you're reuploading some maps to the wiki. I'd just like to ask, since the maps are pretty big images, if you could put them through image optimization software before uploading, since they get served at their original quality to viewers in interactive map embeds. For example, both File:Ice Palace map.png and File:Island Board (Original Game) map.png increased 4.25x between your and F-sharp's revisions. 462 KB isn't huge, but some larger maps could become really bloated if left unoptimized after modification.

Windows users that worked on maps (DubstepDude1, F-sharp) generally used FileOptimizer to losslessly optimize the maps. It might take quite a bit for optimization to finish on larger maps.

Thank you! KockaAdmiralac (talk) 10:33, 16 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the info! I did notice them go up in file size, but since I didn't know the appropriate procedure to losslessly save the image at a smaller size, I just did what I had to do to fix the map errors. I'll go ahead and download that program. HylianAngel (talk) 10:51, 16 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
You were totally right about the slowness, thanks for the warning on that. It's definitely worth the waiting process, but I might have thought something was going wrong otherwise.
City Board (The Legend of Tenna) map is also kinda big at the moment, but I'm going to compress it at a later date after I comb pre-elevator area for any small alignment errors. HylianAngel (talk) 11:31, 16 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Game infobox italics

Do you want to port ut:Template:Infobox event so that we can have a more appropriate infobox to use on Spamton Sweepstakes?

Also, I think Deltarune Chapter 1&2 having italics is fine - it's the full name of the demo after all.

Cheers! KockaAdmiralac (talk) 09:43, 17 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Ah sure, ut:Template:Infobox event makes sense to use. Just anything to un-italicize Spamton Sweepstakes's displayed title is fine. I know my syntax changes were not necessarily ideal, so feel free to revert anything bad or ugly that I did.
I don't have a strong opinion on the full name of Deltarune Chapter 1&2 being in italics. But like on the actual page itself, the displayed title was in full italics, and the actual article content only seemed to ever italicize just the "Deltarune" part, so it seemed weird that just the display title was not following the page's own rule. (Actually now that I take a closer look, it goes back and forth between both styles, oops. But the first sentence only italicizes "Deltarune.") Anything's cool if there's a consistent standard. Japanese Shadow Mantle Holder Dialogue

HI! Would you be able to add the findings from this post (https://duxarcana.tumblr.com/post/789793468202549248) to the Trivia section on the SMH's page? I don't know Japanese at all, so I can't compare the two scripts and phrase the bulletpoints in a way that'd make sense. Clint Barton Fan (talk) 01:28, 3 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Sure, I can try to add something. I think a "speech pattern" section like Tenna or Spamton's pages could make sense. I'm not very well-versed in Japanese, I only know the super, super basic stuff.
But the main important gist of it is:
Older video games in English used to use all-caps, due to either hardware limitations or legibility reasons (it was harder to read lowercase letters because the graphics were lower definition). So everyone in The Legend of Tenna and the original game speaks in all-caps to reflect this, since they're meant to be old video games. The Shadow Mantle Holder "breaks" the video game rules by speaking in proper sentence casing.
Older video games in Japanese also used to only use hiragana and katakana because kanji characters make things more complicated. There are thousands of kanji, and some of them are so complex in shape that they would basically be illegible to display. So everyone in The Legend of Tenna and the original game speaks in hiragana/katakana with no kanji to reflect this. The Shadow Mantle Holder "breaks" the rules by including kanji in their speech when applicable. Typical Japanese includes all three writing systems (hiragana, katakana, and kanji), so their dialogue looks more "normal" with kanji in it.
This article has a lot of good information on the topic:
https://legendsoflocalization.com/articles/japanese-writing-systems/
Not really as sure on the Gaster/Chara stuff, maybe SnorlaxMonster can chime in (it sounds like they may have some knowledge based on this edit). HylianAngel (talk) 01:57, 3 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Quick question🙂

Hello, Hylian! (I notice you seem to be familiar with the Legend of Zelda series…)

Just a quick question, which WikiFauna do you identify as? (If you are unfamiliar with the terminology, you may search it up if you like.)

I saw your edits (most of my reverted edits were reverted by you, although you seem to be of high integrity, and as per WP:AGF I do not begrudge this. ), and I just wanted to ask you this.

Thanks for taking the time to read this! 🙂 Palladium standard (talk) 11:47, 12 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

I mentioned in the edit summaries why the edits needed to be reverted; all of them contained too many duplicate links to the same concept. On the Player page for example, it's not needed to link to the Knight 3 times and Kris 3 times in the same paragraph. Another paragraph, still on the Player page, introduced 5 links to Kris. Increasing the number of duplicate links to other pages has a few problems, such as being distracting for the reader, and each additional one besides the initial one isn't really going to help encourage the reader to travel to other pages, it will just fatigue them.
It sounds like you're familiar with Wikipedia, they do have info on avoiding overlinking and duplicate links. Though specifically Deltarune Wiki's policy is to link the first instance, as mentioned in the MoS.
There are too many WikiFauna to choose from, and choosing one to identify as doesn't really interest me. HylianAngel (talk) 12:07, 12 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Do we get a new source for the Mauswheel trivia

So a while back I added trivia about Mauswheel in the Weird Route moving slower after opening the menu, the video I referenced was from Shayy. Uhh you probably know the situation with them, so do we get a new source. MMK-001 (talk) 05:59, 23 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Winglade

It's a good question! But also, Winglade's base Darkner sprite is taller than Susie... I've been thinking hammerspace logic for chests could be the reason if the weapon was actually the same-size, just like Kris's inventory. But I also just remembered, as I was typing this that a tiny Crowd member appears in a chest... — Link [ T | C ] 07:01, 10 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

The Dark World having inventory mechanics being canon—and then also finding things as large as the Devilsknife in a chest—and like also you literally walk into a game, open a chest, grab the ShadowMantle, walk back out, and it's still tall enough for a regular person (according to Noelle's unused dialogue) instead of a tiny napkin (okay well I guess you could fold it and it would fit in there, but it's just another sign of wacky video game logic, because the entity holding the mantle is TINY)—makes me think it's totally feasible for Kris to find a petrified (or alive if you wait until 3rd Sanctuary to grab it?) Winglade in there, bonk people on the head with a hunk of rock like an actual sword, and then by the 2nd Sanctuary it comes alive but Kris don't care.
Also the hammerspace logic is still gonna apply even if it turns out Winglade shrinks, because (I think) both it and BounceBlade are slightly larger than chests.
But yeah, I think Susie and the JusticeAxe are helpful in understanding this better, that newly-equipped items probably would look different, but either actual real-world limitations (it would be an immense task to sprite every-possible weapon) or like video game logic applies to the Dark World and makes all swords, axes, and scarves look the same as soon as the trio holds them. I would side with the real-world limitations thing just because of the item descriptions and the party commentary makes it sound like they really are all unique and not morphing into a generic sprite form, so that means they could totally be different in size, so LARGE Wingblade real. Hello.

I have noticed your edit summaries beginning with “edit history”. For future reference, Special:History provides an internal link to the target page’s edit history. For example, Special:History/Deltarune links to the edit history of the Deltarune page. No need to copy/paste the URL. F-sharp (talk | contribs) 23:56, 28 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Oh dang, that's super useful, thanks for letting me know. Now I feel silly! HylianAngel (talk) 00:03, 29 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Chapter 1 artwork

Happy New Year! I figured I'd ask you about this since this might be of interest to you. I recently uploaded a distinct Chapter 1 art image, but the original 2019 tweet has it as a .jpg... and somehow, there's a more HD version of this piece of art, with a fuller version of the Dark Fountain.

Do you think you can find it? I was looking around, and the one uploaded on pcgamingwiki has a comment that it is somehow from the PlayStation Store. I'm still trying to look through the demo's history for it, because from what I've seen, it's just been the sprite version with a building in the background. It's also been used for a Debug magazine cover, so I'm not sure if the one uploaded on pcgamingwiki is legit. — Link [ T | C ] 23:16, 4 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Happy new year to you too!
As a generality, official artwork given to the public is a privilege rather than a right since it's copyrighted, and so the highest-quality renders are sometimes exclusively handed out via press kits to applicable members (companies, video game journalist websites, and such) to promote the game. Just like the magazine you linked. (My bad for regurgitating anything you might already know.)
From a quick Google search, a small lower-quality version of the full variant is in a Nintendo Instagram post, you can extract the thumbnail with a generic Instagram thumbnail extracting website.
https://www.instagram.com/reels/DKP5ontyT4n/
https://snapdownloader.com/tools/instagram-video-thumbnail-downloader
If Nintendo is using it, it's probably official and not fake.
Via the Google search, I also see the PlayStation Store can somehow generate the thumbnail, but I'm not really sure how to reach it.
https://i.imgur.com/u0BKw1A.png
I'm getting Cloudflare error with pcgamingwiki at the moment, lol. But I do see it here on Gematsu.
https://www.gematsu.com/games/deltarune
https://www.gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Game-Page-Box-Art_DELTARUNE.jpg
If it's not possible to reach the PlayStation variant, I think it's fine to use PC Gaming or Gematsu or a similar second party as the source, since I'm not sure how to reach the PS one. Sometimes it's thumbnail stuff, but I'm not getting it to appear as one. HylianAngel (talk) 23:49, 4 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
You're good by the way, thank you!
There's nothing wrong with a recap, thanks for the refresher.
Hmm.. the impression I got from this is that the Nintendo Instagram post is the original version. Because it lists "Chapters 1-4" for the thumbnail, and both Gematsu and PC Gaming have that text coincidentally cropped out. It's because the "deltarune" text happens to be between the original art and the pure dark blue for the bottom. That abrupt transit was actually why I was wondering if the one on PC Gaming was legit in the first place. — Link [ T | C ] 00:17, 5 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
I'm sort of confused on why the Nintendo one would be the original one. It looks like the "deltarune" part of the logo is in the same place for Nintendo, Gematsu, and PC Gaming, and the extended dark blue bottom edge + "Chapters 1-4" text could easily be one of several different-sized variants in the press kit. They may have also received some logoless variants. HylianAngel (talk) 00:28, 5 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
That's what I initially thought at first too, but looking between them, both the Gematsu and PC Gaming versions is the largest and same dimensions, but Gematsu's is a slightly sharper quality... still trying to look into the PlayStation version, but it might be a bust. — Link [ T | C ] 00:49, 5 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
Still getting Cloudflare error for pcgamingwiki, so I can't really analyze that until it gets fixed.
Good luck on the hunt! HylianAngel (talk) 00:53, 5 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
Part of the reason I wanted to look into this art is not just because it's a distinct, but also for the main Deltarune article. Do you think citing the Nintendo instagram post might be a good reason to swap out the Chapter 1 version that's currently there for Overall Development? — Link [ T | C ] 05:38, 5 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
Honestly it looks okay as it is right now. The thumbnail of the small artwork is actually in certain respects nicer than the full artwork because it's so square. Obviously the full artwork is absolutely gorgeous and beautiful and an amazing find on your part, and it would indeed be a shame for it to only reside on a single page.
If you really needed to, could always dedicate a gallery section on the Deltarune page somewhere with specific key arts, logos, and things that pertain more to Deltarune the game than [in-game subject here]. Then you could shove the full artwork down there in the Deltarune page's gallery. But also don't see an issue with exchanging out the small artwork with the big artwork. You've dedicated way more time to the Deltarune page than most people, I think you have a good grasp on the overall cohesion! HylianAngel (talk) 05:44, 5 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
I see what you mean, an overall gallery is a good suggestion. We'll see! The overall section is still missing info too.
Thanks! This tends to be what happens if I focus on a single article. There's actually a very, very good reason I've detoured to work on it. Not just so everyone can better understand what's going on with development, but so devs are being properly credited too. If I do swap out the Chapter 1 art, in the end you did help, since you found the instagram post I can use to cite! — Link [ T | C ] 06:08, 5 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Police Station

The name of "Police Station" is mentioned only two times in the game:

  • "(You knocked on the door to the Police Station.)"
  • "(the police station is closed... please don't do any big crimes right now.)"

In the standardization project post is it stated that "In the case of inconsistent casing, sentence case is preferred." In addition, Manual of Style recommends using sentence case for common noun names, which is "police station" is. Otval12345 (talk) 22:00, 8 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

The 2nd one is Napstablook dialogue, Napstablook uses lowercase in all of their dialogue, even for people names. It cannot be used as any sort of precedence, or we should be capitalizing Undyne's name as "undyne." HylianAngel (talk) 22:03, 8 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
"Police station" is still a common noun name. The Manual of Style says "Casing for common noun names must also be lowercase." Otval12345 (talk) 22:07, 8 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
In real life it's typically a common noun, but the project's purpose is to match the game casing. The only instance of Police Station in the game so far is as a proper noun. Again Napstablook's dialogue can't count because everything is forced lowercase for them. It's the same case as Town Hall being treated as a proper noun to match the game, and it's the reason why Police Station is not one of the listed articles that needs to have its name changed in the community project. Card Kingdom's creator

Given the numerous call-backs and references to Card Kingdom in Flower Kingdom (as well as the fact that Jevil's collar matches the colors of Kris's shirt, which can't be a coincidence), do you think it's safe to assume that CK was also created by Kris? Sure, it's not directly shown/stated, but the implication is too heavy to be ignored IMO. Clint Barton Fan (talk) 13:37, 27 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Kris made Chapter 5's Dark World, Seth stated it in the jail cell. I removed a Chapter 5 Weird Route edit that claimed a prophecy panel can't happen because Kris has to make the Dark World. I think that relies on too many assumptions to directly claim. HylianAngel (talk) 13:41, 27 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Oh wait that says CK not FK. I think Kris probably did make CK yeah, the only thing against it is that Kris hesitates when they see the closet Dark World. And also somehow the exact same FK Dark World is maintained when the Knight makes a 2nd fountain, which I can't understand since a Dark World is formed from the mind of its creator. Not really sure, I don't really speculate that much! HylianAngel (talk) 13:45, 27 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
I think the hesitation may be explained by the next two chapters. As for the exact same FK, the only Watsonian explanations I can think of is either that the Knight's mind is just that aligned with Kris's (which is too strenuous to be believable) or that it did change but we don't explore enough of this new FK to see any substantial changes.
I wanted to ask mainly because I'm not sure whether the claim of 'Kris creating CK can be added on CK's page at this point in time. Clint Barton Fan (talk) 13:58, 27 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Sadly probably not, since I think there's some issues with saying that a Dark World sharing similar characteristics and callbacks means that that has to be the creator. Susie's 2nd Sanctuary Dark World is very similar to the Dark Sanctuary and 3rd Sanctuary created by the Knight, but yet it involves 2 different creators. And then also, Kris created TV World and the Chapter 5 Dark World, but they are completely different thematically. While there are good reasons to handwave both as irrelevant, it means it makes it harder to claim Kris had to have made Card Castle's Dark World (even though I think this is a likely scenario). Mass-correction of dodgy punctuation

Would it be possible to edit all occurrences of ’ and ” to ' and " using HylianAngelBot? I'm not entirely sure how it works, but the vast majority of their uses are incorrect. There are a couple exceptions, but those can be manually reverted where necessary. Shadow (talk) 12:03, 8 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

For some reason AutoWikiBrowser doesn't detect the weird quotation mark symbols, only the weird apostrophes. I can do another run of the weird apostrophes and fix those, I need to do research to see if it's possible to detect weird quotes or not with AWB. It's possible to Ctrl+F for them in a copy of Special:Export and then fix each affected page manually. HylianAngel (talk) 12:10, 8 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
If you could, then fixing both would be great, but fixing just the quotation marks manually seems manageable if it's not possible. Thanks for the help! Shadow (talk) 12:16, 8 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I had to make the quotation marks thing a "special rule" in order for it to work with AWB, but I replaced most of them, except for like quoted materials where the weird quotation marks are supposed to be there. And no problem! HylianAngel (talk) 12:38, 8 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
