Toy train
Toy train is an unused gameplay mechanic in Chapter 4 of Deltarune. There are several puzzles involving toy trains, in which the player has to make them reach the goal.

The player controls the SOUL directly during these puzzles instead of the party. The way to beat the puzzles, is to make the toy train drive through the tracks to reach the goal, this can be done by using the SOUL to interact with various objects, such as switches that switch the direction of certain tracks. The toy train moves forward on the tracks automatically and cannot be stopped from moving unless it hits a stop, if the toy train hits a wall, it will simply bounce off and head in the opposite direction.
There are 2 unused toy train puzzles, room_traintest and room_traintest_big. room_traintest is the simplest of the 2, using a simple layout, and only introducing a few objects. room_traintest_big is the most complex of the 2, with a more complex layout, and introduces more complicated objects.
There are various objects that are used to solve the puzzles, these objects interact with the train and tracks in different ways.

The toy train puzzles would have appeared in Noelle's House but were scrapped in favor of focusing on the atmosphere and story.[1]

Then, when that didn't work out very well, we tried installing a toy train that would go all the way throughout the house, and make puzzles around this.

I was having so much trouble, I ended up asking my friend Andrew Hussie for help thinking of ideas. Ultimately, I realized that just focusing on the story and atmosphere is the best, and so we finally remade everything one more time. I think it turned out great.
