The Titans (JP: 巨人 / タイタン) are a major antagonistic force in Deltarune. They are gargantuan creatures prophesied by the prophecy to ravage the Light and Dark Worlds in an event known as the Roaring.

In Chapter 4, a Titan is created by the Knight when the latter makes a Dark Fountain within a Dark World. The created Titan serves as the final boss of the Chapter.

Overview

According to Ralsei, Titans are beings with no consciousness that exist only to destroy, and cannot understand Mercy. He likens them to what the mind creates in an imagined fear of dark, similarly to how Dark Worlds themselves function. Titans are created when a Fountain becomes too powerful.

Physiology

The Titan fought in Chapter 4 is an enormous being with incredibly high health and defense. It is entirely black and white, befitting its status as an entity of darkness. It emerges from a tall pillar, and Ralsei calls its emergence a "hatching". It appears that Titans spawn Titan Spawn, which they can reabsorb to restore HP. Based on the fight's conclusion and Ralsei's assertion, it appears that Titans are still part of the Fountain they emerge from. This makes it possible to defeat them by sealing their Fountain from the inside, which enables Kris to vanquish the Titan via the SOUL.

• During Ralsei's explanation of the Roaring, the Titans on the left and right bear a visual resemblance to the Knight.
