SAVE point
At times, you see it flickering. The light only you can see.
By second nature, you reach out, and...First SAVE point in Chapter 1
A SAVE point[1][2][3][4][5] (JP: セーブポイント) is a place where the player can SAVE game progress in Deltarune. Interacting with a SAVE point usually expresses Kris's current thoughts, often accompanied by being "filled with power", and, in the Dark World, fully restores the party's HP. Kris is the only one who can see SAVE points, though Darkners such as Ralsei can be aware of the mechanic.[6]
As of Chapter 2, interacting with a SAVE point also allows access to the recruits menu and STORAGE. Upon starting the game for the first time in Chapter 1, interacting with any SAVE point causes Kris's name to appear on the SAVE File. Choosing to save causes Kris's name to be overwritten by the player's uppercase chosen name from the introduction.
The following is a list of SAVE points and their locations, indicated by their name (as shown in the SAVE dialogue box):

Chapter 4's Light World SAVE points were added late in Deltarune's development due to playtester feedback.[8]
- Cyber City's Second Alleyway SAVE point during the Weird Route, which is slightly moved to the left
- The SAVE points may have been inspired by Your Sanctuaries from EarthBound, places where the protagonist, Ness, can absorb the power of the Earth. The SAVE point resembles the overworld sprite of Sanctuary Guardians, enemies that must be defeated to access Your Sanctuaries.

Still ongoing. One tester said "players will find it very inconvenient that you cannot save or load in the Light World"... I was initially resistant, but I decided to add Save Points there in Chapter 4.
