City Board (Original Game)

From Deltarune Wiki

The City Board (JP: 街のパーク City Park) of the Original Game is the original version of Tenna's unused City Board from The Legend of Tenna before it was modified. It is only accessible after completing the Original Game's Desert Board and Island Board during the Sword Route.

The manhole dungeon is situated on this board, which requires the sword to access.

Main story

The City Board is the final location Kris traverses alone during the Sword Route. The board is entirely empty, and only ambient noise plays in the background. Unlike in the previous boards, HERO_SWORD begins the game with HERO_AXE and HERO_SCARF following behind them. Beginning at the entrance to what was supposed to be TV Tower, HERO_SWORD's party makes their way to an alleyway to the southeast to retrieve the sword. HERO_SWORD kills their party members, causing Kris to become paler than normal while they briefly look over their shoulder towards the player. Each kill increases HERO_SWORD's LV by 1, allowing them to destroy the stanchions blocking the way to the manhole dungeon.

Sublocations

Tower entrance and commercial district

HERO_SWORD begins the game at the entrance to the former TV Tower. The tower doors are closed, and there is no way to enter. Heading south, HERO_SWORD enters the commercial district, with a four-way crossroads and a building to the left leading to a black room with a cactus. Taking damage from this cactus is the only way to leave the game without killing HERO_AXE and HERO_SCARF.

Western block

Immediately west of the commercial district is a gold-colored bridge spanning across a city skyline. Further west is an alleyway that veers to the south, then to the east. The following area has an exit leading south into a pier, and further east is another four-way crossroads.

Southern crossroads to sword chamber

The crossroads has an exit leading south into the pier, while the northern exit leads back to the commercial district. The eastern path leads to an open room with two exits to the north and south. The southern exit leads to another open room with two exits to the east and west. The western path leads to the pier, and the eastern path leads to an alleyway with an entryway at the end leading to the sword chamber.

Eastern alleyway

East of the commercial district is a room with two exits to the south and east. The eastern exit is blocked by stanchions, which can be destroyed when HERO_SWORD's LV reaches 3. Upon destroying the stanchions, HERO_SWORD enters a dark, winding alleyway reminiscent of the alleyway Kris traverses in Cyber City during Chapter 2's Weird Route. There is a manhole at the end of this alleyway that leads to the manhole dungeon.
