IT'S A MAN'S WORLD!
Signpost in Mancountry, Chapter 3
Mancountry (JP: マンカントリー) is a hidden location in TV World. This area is where Kris obtains the Egg in Chapter 3.
Mancountry is accessed in Chapter 3 after obtaining the TripTicket and holding left on the CroakOnX ACT during an encounter with Ribbick. The location is marked by numerous graphical abnormalities: Kris initially enters Mancountry in their Light World form, the entire area is cast in a monochromatic Gameboy-esque green, and it is rendered in a minimalistic artstyle closely resembling that of The Legend of Tenna. Within the Egg Temple is the Forgotten Man. If the correct dialogue options are selected, he will grant Kris the Chapter's Egg following a brief conversation with them.
There are six tiny Rudinns in the area, who explain that they are members of the Seven Flying Aces. The name was chosen by Kris, who had photocopied and individually colored in seven Ace cards in order to cheat at card games. One of the aces assumes that Kris miscounted and only copied six, though a seventh tiny Rudinn can be found manning the receptionist desk in 2nd Sanctuary's therapy room. The Rudinns relate that Kris frequently played with them when they were younger, but eventually lost the cards in the couch.
The entrance features signs introducing the location as Mancountry, described as "A MAN'S WORLD", as well as three of the Seven Flying Aces. The entrance features three paths, two of which lead to more areas of Mancountry, and the eastern path exiting the area completely.
To the west of the entrance is a cliffside described as the Forgotten Island, a "WORLD HERITAGE SITE". Located here the other three members of the Seven Flying Aces, as well as a set of binoculars pointing south. When peered into, the binoculars only shows a gray patch of grass, which the Rudinn who was using them prior senses as evil. A sign in the area explains that "NON-MEN" are also allowed on the island.
North of the entrance leads to a large temple area with a doorway containing the upper half of the Delta Rune symbol. Heading inside leads to a tree with the Forgotten Man behind it. He, as usual, will disappear after spoken to, and if Kris obtained the Egg from him in their dialogue, they will exit from behind the tree in their Dark World form.
- When the area is entered, each Rudinn in the map is randomly colored either blue or yellow. The one exception is the leftmost Rudinn in the entrance area, who will always be colored pink.
- The exterior of the Egg Temple may have been inspired by the Temple of Mana from Final Fantasy Adventure. The similarity is even more pronounced in an unused older tileset.
- In Chapter 2, Business Guy in Hometown's Town Hall suggests that Kris should level up to understand "a Man's World" - the same phrase used by one of the signboards in the area.
