Fandom Undertale and Deltarune Chinese Wiki Move

Hello, I am KumkiTAT, a Chinese administrator of the Deltarune Fandom Wiki. We are currently planning to migrate both the Deltarune and Undertale Chinese Wikis away from Fandom to zh.deltarune.wiki and zh.undertale.wiki. Would you be able to assist us with the migration? Are there any important considerations we should be aware of? The UTCWiki has not been updated for quite some time, and most contributors have moved to the Undertale and Deltarune Wikis on Fandom for editing. Additionally, we are planning to translate the Undertale Yellow Wiki into Chinese, so please take special note of this. We greatly appreciate your assistance! KumkiTAT (talk) 07:39, 3 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

What happened here?

A user unilaterally moved a page, I wanted to revert it and was met with this message. (Note that I did not actually get blocked from editing) What happened here? SnowyNix (talk) 11:01, 7 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Uh honestly no idea. It looks like there was some other guy editing at the same time as you who got blocked for trying to blank the Tenna page and it seems like you somehow received the block notices for that guy? I've moved the page back, either way. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 11:39, 7 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
Actually, our Discord log shows that the abuse filter tried to block you but there is no related log entry. And there's no entry in the abuse log either, so I just have no idea what happened. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 11:41, 7 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
So I figured out that this happened because the filter that was meant to filter out edits was triggering on pagemoves, so some edit-related variables went undefined. Still not sure why it exhibited itself so weirdly, though. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 23:24, 12 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

hey noticed you edited my subsections thank you

btw do you know if theres requirements to get into the Z room? ~2025-311885 (unregistered) (talk) 21:05, 9 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

The requirement should be to get the Z rank, I think. That is, you need to do extremely bad at the board. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 21:06, 9 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
aw man really I can't enter it if I get higher cause I find it really hard to S rank all the games and I want to get all like the secrets and stuff ~2025-311885 (unregistered) (talk) 21:30, 9 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
Yeah... I never really entered it either, but from what I've seen on this video it's a pretty small room. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 22:15, 9 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

RE: "AIRWAVES" vs "Air Waves"

The Youtube and Spotify uploads list the track title as Air Waves, but the actual files provided when you purchase the soundtrack on Steam or on Bandcamp both have the files name and title set as AIRWAVES.

Bandcamp download: https://i.imgur.com/KXvJsl2.png Bunnybot5k (talk) 01:57, 11 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

I see. It seems that the title registered at ASCAP is also AIRWAVES, so we can probably move that page. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 22:30, 11 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

why did you deleter my file Tennafriendinsidemefan111 (talk) 21:23, 11 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Plagiarism

I just noticed that Fandom user Z13 Studios plagiarized large swathes of info from this wiki's TV Time page, including but not limited to:

  • Tenna asks everyone to write their three-lettered name. Susie writes her name as "ASS" and Ralsei writes his name as "RAL." Kris can choose a three-lettered name of their choice.
  • At the end of each Round is the Evaluation, where the overall POINTs earned for each Round are listed and the earned Rank is revealed based on gameplay. The available ranks from highest to lowest, are T (for TV), S, A, B, C, and Z. Both T-Rank and Z-Rank require intentional effort to earn. T-Rank is rewarded for a high POINTs score

I have not examined all of their edits, but given the blatant nature of this particular plagiarism, I wouldn't be surprised if their previous edits and future edits will also include plagiarism, which should either be reverted, DMCA'd, or should include a link to this wiki on the Fandom wiki. Yeah, I saw. We're handling it. Thanks! KockaAdmiralac (talk) 09:26, 14 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
I'm glad to hear that something will be done. Also here are a couple of other cases, just in case they went under the radar, but it sounds like you are already aware.
Word-for-word plagiarism.

This just does equal word substitutions to disguise the fact that it's plagiarism but is otherwise identical in sentence structure and sentence order.

Serious Trashy page

Ok, So, my first wikipedia page i ever made was the serious trashy page. it made me feel a lot of accomplishment. i am pretty mad to see how people keep moving it. could we please find a solution to all this? A compromise, et cettera? ~2025-726444 (unregistered) (talk) 01:02, 18 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

But your content is still there, just on the Trashy page. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 01:04, 18 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
I understand that, but I still just really want the one page. Plus, on the Trashy page, It feels like it kinda should be separated. and, the content is legit everywhere, making it hard to find and to make out the two. ~2025-726444 (unregistered) (talk) 01:07, 18 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

More plagiarism

Hey, just wanted to mention that Fandom user DracoBaltoy II (their account on this wiki) blatantly plagiarized from this wiki's Knight page.

https://deltarune.wiki/index.php?title=Knight&oldid=77874
https://deltarune.fandom.com/wiki/Roaring_Knight?diff=prev&oldid=62833

Hopefully this can be either reverted, DMCA'd, or include credit like required by CC BY-SA, as this type of edit is completely inappropriate.

It looks like they are also a user on this wiki. I don't think they should have the privilege of being able to edit here if their main goal is to copy-paste the hard work of wiki users here onto Fandom without any credit. HylianAngel (talk) 10:58, 19 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

The Knight edit is content from before we moved. But I can see some concerning edits over there, so I'll see about handling this. Thanks! KockaAdmiralac (talk) 18:00, 19 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
Totally my mistake, thank you for the clarification. I looked through all of the revisions on the Fandom page, and the edit summary did not mention it was restoring previously removed content, so it just looked like it was a copy-paste on my end. HylianAngel (talk) 20:41, 19 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Weird Route interaction on Nintendo Switch

I think Fjord's claim involving the Weird Route here is actually true, there are other Nintendo Switch users who have been affected by what seems to be the same oversight.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Deltarune/comments/1liofpl/consequences_for_defeating_nonrecruitable_enemies/mzdjwam/

And this is worded way too vaguely to know for sure, but it could line up with this patch note statement:
"Fixed a continuity issue in a certain scene on Switch/Switch 2." HylianAngel (talk) 20:56, 26 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

You're right, and it seems that we already have this on Version Differences#v0.0.086. But that means the trivia point is correct, and the user just didn't update their game, then? KockaAdmiralac (talk) 20:58, 26 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
Aha, thank you for clarifying! Apologies, I did not think to check version differences, and assumed there was some other criteria for the lack of interaction which others met that I did not. Fjord (talk) 21:59, 27 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

The intervals don't match up at all between them. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 21:54, 7 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

I'd fix this if I could, but I'm unable to edit it, so I assume it's admin only (Which is why I'm asking you)

The NPC pages for the TV World, The Legend of Tenna, and Dark Sanctuary, are all missing. Carol, Gerson & Undyne are also missing, and I think it'd make more sense to put Gerson under darkners (and call him the old man,) but that's up to you.

The Study page is also included, which is inconsistent as all other "sublocations" are not part of the navbar, such as the Great Board. It should either be removed, or other subareas should be added. Lastly, Chapter 5 needs to be added. PapyrusPikmin1997 (talk) 10:09, 10 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I saw the message on the talkpage, I just didn't have time to deal with it yet. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 12:00, 10 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Oh ok, sorry to bother you then. I thought no admin ended up seeing it. PapyrusPikmin1997 (talk) 12:13, 10 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Ch. 3/4 consumables... with noelle?????

Everyone, on the chapter 3 and 4 consumables pages, it contains Noelle dialogue. I understand that modding the game to add Noelle to your party triggers these quotes, and therefore they are factual. But shouldn't we put "Unused" Next to those quotes or something? ~2025-726444 (unregistered) (talk) 18:04, 16 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

I mean, sure, you could put "Unused" next to these quotes. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 22:04, 16 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

More blatant plagiarism

I wanted to point out that Fandom user Nagyos nagyi alt account has plagiarized from multiple pages of this wiki.

https://deltarune.wiki/w/Mike_Minigames?oldid=83611#Pluey
https://deltarune.fandom.com/wiki/Pluey?oldid=65028

https://deltarune.wiki/w/Hometown/NPCs?oldid=88000
https://deltarune.fandom.com/wiki/Hometown/NPCs?diff=66036&oldid=65994

The text itself is blatant enough, but the fact that they copied the pronouns parameter (which is not even used on the Fandom wiki) also highlights that it was a copy-paste job. HylianAngel (talk) 06:58, 18 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for taking care of the first situation, and what was actually only partial plagiarism (which is still bad) for the second situation as well.

I don't feel comfortable enough posting a message on Fandom user Virus3000's message wall, but I want to state this:

It does not matter if a wiki, or any website, is small, obscure, or not visible in the search results; this does NOT excuse plagiarism. You can't just steal from people who you deem are "smaller." If anything, that makes it even more wrong. Bullying and stealing from smaller creators is always wrong, and they should not be allowed to get away with it.

The logic is it is okay to steal from someone who is less important because their work has no value, and yet you still value the writing to the degree where you are willing to copy it word-for-word? This is a contradiction they use in order to justify their stealing. They are lazy, they are immoral, and they are so incompetent and uncreative that they are unable to string together a single strand of words into a sentence without having to copy from someone else. That's what every plagiarist is.

The Russian Fandom wiki users should do the bare minimum of posting a source link to the original wiki in the image description imo, which would help avoid telephone-chain mistakes in the future of people not knowing where the source is from. But their actions are still less reprehensible compared to those who steal writings. HylianAngel (talk) 21:17, 18 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hmm, good point about the Russian wiki users, we could talk to them about it in the future. But I feel like that's less of a problem for us in particular right now because, well, the Russian wiki is the only Russian UT/DR wiki out there and we're not really competing with them. In fact, we rank higher than their wiki in Yandex for a few search queries, which was a bit strange to me.
Virus3000 was just unaware that we moved, and there was a discussion in the wiki's Discord server where I didn't get the impression they were in support of plagiarism. It was a bit of my mistake for immediately assuming they knew about the new wiki and were copying the images from us intentionally. I saw they posted a reply on my wall that they then deleted, but I didn't catch what they said.
Sorry for responding late! KockaAdmiralac (talk) 21:44, 18 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Right, I don't blame Virus3000 for any writing-related plagiarism as they only downloaded images, but I was bothered by this comment: "But I do want to give you a word of caution: The wiki that you are working on does not show up in search results."
This is the logic many plagiarizers use when they think it is okay to copy-paste writing, or in this case, images. Whenever you upload an image to any wiki, you should always include a source link in the description. You don't even have to put anything else in it. Just link where you got it from.
It's so easy, it's so simple, but people just refuse to credit where they originally downloaded an image from for absolutely no reason. Virus3000 should have pasted a link to the Russian wiki in the file description, since that's where they downloaded it from. The Russian wiki users should be doing the same but for this wiki, it's not a complicated process. But now it is because they didn't do it for probably a thousand images.
It's also problematic because it de-legitimizes the painstaking work that users like RollyPollyPal put into the creation of them. People are now going to attribute the Fandom wiki as the creators, and Fandom is what will show up in the image search results which is a very popular way to obtain character images. HylianAngel (talk) 21:57, 18 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Can you start adding credit to the image descriptions of your file uploads to the Russian Fandom wiki, Mist237? Just a link in the description that leads back to the same file page on the wiki is all I ask. I edit the independent wiki because I don't want my content to end up on Fandom, so it's makes me sad to see 50+ of my images uploaded there in the span of several months without any credit. I don't want people to think Fandom is the original source for the images if they end up finding it there instead of here. It kind of sucks that Fandom does obscure the image description, but regardless, I just want the file description to lead back to the file pages here. HylianAngel (talk) 09:13, 12 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

More plagiarism

Was typing this and noticed F-sharp took care of it. But gonna post it anyways as a record.

Wanted to let you know that Fandom user Purplax is plagiarizing pages from this wiki. The plagiarism is already super-obvious, but making it even clearer, the pages are using the recently-created "Cite web," "Cite game," etc. templates that were created literally only 3 days ago.

They're at it again using what's clearly an alternate account (literally the same glasses purple outfit avatar and plagiarizing the exact same pages), called AlimuDX. I'm not going to parse through the whole page, but obvious swathes are copied directly from this wiki, such as:
  • Ralsei informs Queen of the Roaring preemptively, avoiding her battle.
  • Kris goes to seal the Fountain alone but is stopped by Spamton, who upgraded himself into Spamton NEO while Queen was looking for Berdly. Fighting Spamton, Kris calls for help from Susie and Ralsei, who do not respond. The player then calls for help from Noelle, who freezes Spamton. Kris seals the fountain.
  • Eventually, Susie mentions that the pair have homework to do, prompting Ralsei to banish them from the Dark World until they start their homework. --changed TWO words--> Eventually, Susie mentions they have homework to do, prompting Ralsei to banish them from the Dark World until their homework is done.

Capitalization

My edit on the Castle Town page was reverted as the previous capitlization was apparently "correct." So what are the rules for capitalization here? If, say, the Unused Classroom was already brought up and linked to in an article once, does it still need to be written as "Unused Classroom" across the entire article or is "unused classroom" fine? If "Recruits" is written as "RECRUITs" on the respective page and stylized the same in the game proper, shouldn't it be written like this in other articles as well? Pretty much every article capitalizes their terms differently, and the Manual of Style doesn't seem to mention anything about this either. I'm honestly starting to get a bit confused, so I'd appreciate a clarification. Clint Barton Fan (talk) 10:05, 1 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Unused Classroom was mentioned on the page four times, and only one was lowercase. My change was to make it consistent with other mentions in the article. I don't have anything against the link being title-case and other mentions being lowercase.
There was previous discussion about the capitalization of Recruits and, right now, I don't feel like changing it en masse to "RECRUITs" is a good idea. I've yet to organize a community discussion to decide on the capitalization of various in-game terms, because it's an issue we have often. Sorry I don't have a better answer right now. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 10:12, 1 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
Alright, I see. In any case, thank you for your answer! Clint Barton Fan (talk) 10:18, 1 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Original Game locations and infobox parameters

I think the location infobox template might need to be edited so that it сould accomodate for articles wirh the "(Original Game)" brackets. For example, I have tried to edit Ice Palace's infobox to have the "Located in" section link to Island Board (Original Game), but since the template seems to search for subsections in the linked article, it lnstead links to Island Board#Original Game, which is not a valid link. Clint Barton Fan (talk) 18:18, 10 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I'm aware. It's a bit of our location parsing logic that I haven't properly decided yet how to tackle. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 19:26, 10 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

I am blocked on UTY wiki

Hello! I am the Chinese editor of Undertale Yellow wiki who asked you how to create a Chinese UTY wiki on 21 Aug. 2025.

I filled the Integrity/zh with the text of Kanako/zh wrongly just now. Then I tried to fill Integrity/zh with correct text. But I got blocked for 2 weeks immediatly. The Abuse Filter says "Very big deletions from some namespaces".

Jitter-bug

Toriel calls it "the "jitter bug"," as opposed to the OST's "Jitterbug." Wouldn't it make more sense to follow the game's text? Clint Barton Fan (talk) 19:43, 23 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia, the game's soundtrack, and internal name of that track all call it Jitterbug. The fact that Toriel puts it in quotation marks means that she doesn't really know the name of the dance, and it's also used as a pun in the very next line of dialogue. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 19:47, 23 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
Huh, I didn't know "jitterbug" was an actual term referring to an actual dance. TIL, thanks for clearing it up! Clint Barton Fan (talk) 19:52, 23 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

The wiki

Hello! I apologize for the random question not entirely related to the editing matters, but Ijust need to ask - what hosting site does this wiki use? Me and a group of friends of mine would like to use the same host, but we are unfortunately not as savvy to the wiki-creating process. Clint Barton Fan (talk) 09:27, 27 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

We host the wiki ourselves, which isn't a particularly newbie-friendly way of creating a wiki. On the Undertale Yellow Wiki, however, we use wiki.gg for the wiki host which has a much more user friendly way of creating a wiki and gives you a starter set of pages (mostly templates) you can start building your wiki from, but it does have some ads. If you'd like more freedom and less handholding there is also Miraheze, which has a much wider selection of extensions and skins available and also the ability to use your own domain for the wiki. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 13:25, 27 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
I see. Either way, sorry for the off-topic question again and thank you for such a comprehensive answer! Clint Barton Fan (talk) 14:32, 27 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Image thumbnail transparency issue

Apologies if you're already aware of this or if this is actually the desired effect after the site update, but I just wanted to mention that some thumbnails that used to have transparent backgrounds now have white backgrounds. I feel like they looked better transparent. The two pages I noticed this so far are for the Introduction page involving the File:Vessel overworld parts.png image and Gerson Boom's page involving the File:Gerson Boom battle spare.gif image. HylianAngel (talk) 21:56, 28 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

A selector apparently changed in MediaWiki 1.44 that we just upgraded to about an hour ago, and the background should now be fixed. Thank you! KockaAdmiralac (talk) 22:15, 28 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
That's great! Thank you for all your work! HylianAngel (talk) 22:16, 28 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Small request

Could you delete the isolated image of the manual in the revision history here at File:Manual item.png? I originally uploaded it as a separate image to add it to the Manual page, but I realized it looked awful in dark mode, so sadly I just added the full dresser image instead. Otherwise ideally both sprites should exist on their own, as one encompasses the actual item, and the other encompasses the furniture piece (which actually the dresser itself is an entirely different height from the trash can dresser, which is not currently documented but makes it unique). Thank you in advance! HylianAngel (talk) 22:09, 8 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Done! KockaAdmiralac (talk) 00:34, 9 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

More plagiarism

An editor is implementing your edits onto a Miraheze wiki without proper attribution. This user is also on this wiki, but they're pretty much only here to copy edits from this wiki onto their wiki.

https://deltarune.wiki/w/Module:Infobox?oldid=99027
https://cyberpedia.miraheze.org/wiki/Module:Infobox?diff=221883&oldid=208031 ("-- Iterate over multiple names" section) HylianAngel (talk) 06:30, 15 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

That part was already in the imported module, they just copy pasted it again for another function.
I notified Miraheze of this wiki about 3 weeks ago and a steward over there warned them about improper attribution, so I hope they are now following their attribution requirements. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 16:03, 15 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
Whoops, I see the duplication now. Thanks for letting me know. Unrelated complaining:
Even though they are technically attributing in the edit summary, it's still extremely harmful for this wiki, because it's eclipsing the search results. I've already met one user who found the Miraheze wiki instead of this wiki for the Elements page, and then I saw the Miraheze wiki using this wiki's content for Mike Minigames during a Google search when I was trying to find Nintendo Switch 2 videos involving the subject but this wiki didn't show up despite being the original authors.
This wiki exists because of the passion and dedication of the original editors wanting a good website to edit on, and agreeing to move their work here during a landslide majority group vote. Nobody here wants or voted for the content to be placed on the Miraheze wiki, and that wiki is making it harder for people to find this wiki while disguising where the work actually came from. The Miraheze contributors are terrible people for doing this. HylianAngel (talk) 19:28, 15 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
I mean, yeah. The guy who started the fork is the same guy as the one who started this discussion, and this discussion, and this discussion. And it keeps happening. But that particular page was imported with attribution in page history, and because it's not illegal to do that Miraheze won't do anything about it. MOS questions/suggestions for Japanese

Two things that have come up for me occasionally and would be nice to have clarified on how it "should be" done:

  • Game text citations: Between the final argument being "Character/Context, Chapter N Japanese localization" vs. "Character/Context in the Japanese localization, Chapter N". Personally I like the former more since it makes the first argument fully about the game context and the second argument fully about the media itself.
  • Spacing: Spaces are not really necessary in Japanese, and some dialogue (especially Spamton) does some very silly excessive things with spacing. Should we try to preserve the spacing in quotes exactly as presented in-game or trim it down, and if so how? The game string files use both U+3000 : IDEOGRAPHIC SPACE (a space with the same width as Japanese characters, meaning 2x of latin character width) and U+0020 : SPACE (the normal space on your spacebar in latin character languages) as space characters. Typically the ideographic space character is used, except after the * (Japanese version of the dialogue bullet point, which will have a regular space after it) or & (linebreak, which will have an ideographic and regular space after it) characters. This preserves the left margin in text boxes. But we remove the bullet points and the linebreaks anyways, so it could be argued that only the ideographic spaces should be preserved. Inventory

(Regarding this edit) I'm not sure how credible it is, but it seems like this is the supposed code for determining storage in Chapters 6 and 7. Not really sure how to verify it, but I wanted to share where this info seems to have originated from. HylianAngel (talk) 09:04, 16 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

It looks like "storage" was mistakenly changed to "inventory" when it was being moved to trivia. I readded it with that reference to the Storage section, thanks! KockaAdmiralac (talk) 15:03, 16 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Blocked on Undertale Wiki

Hi, I created a redirect for Togore on the Undertale Wiki to lead to the 10th Anniversary Stream page due to a recent announcement by Toby on Twitter that Togore is the main candidate for the name of the fallen human. However, attempting to create this redirect page blocked my account on the Undertale Wiki for a couple of weeks. I felt like it was a constructive edit that got caught by the abuse filter. Could I be unblocked on that wiki? I promise to continue trying to make only constructive edits on UTW! HylianAngel (talk) 04:23, 20 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

It's 100% a case of an abuse filter moment, since people were adding Togore there the most for a while. Thanks for adding the redirect here, by the way! — Link [ T | C ] 04:29, 20 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, saw it was the Abuse FIlter, but if I have to wait 2 weeks for unforgivable Togore crimes, also understandable. HylianAngel (talk) 04:31, 20 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
Nah you'll be unblocked when Kocka's back, don't worry. It's not like you were making an elaborate article that makes Togore seem like a super-secret hidden character. — Link [ T | C ] 04:37, 20 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
Don't give me any ideas.... /s HylianAngel (talk) 04:38, 20 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
did you just say elaborate? Elaboratescanner04 (talk) 05:04, 17 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Sorry about that, I unblocked you now and changed the filter. Togore used to be vandalism up until last night so we had it in the abuse filter. And it was a pretty effective one at that, but I guess we'll have to find a different way of filtering these edits now. Or maybe it'll become less funny now that it's official? Should we ban this user

So I’ve been seeing this user Special:Contributions/~2025-305347 (unregistered) vandalizing pages so should we ban them. MMK-001 (talk) 19:22, 13 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Do you think pages for the unused chart editor and a bigger mention of Rude Sword would be good

I feel we should have a page for the unused chart editor as I feel it is quite notable and having just a mention in trivia on a page isn’t enough, and the unused Rude Sword spell which is still notable though probably doesn’t deserve a page, I feel like should have a bigger mention. I don’t think they are too technical, and having some mention somewhere on the wiki would be nice, I have user pages for both of them if you want to check them out:User:MMK-001/Chart Editor, User:MMK-001/Rude Sword. Concern regarding your edit

Your reasoning is incorrect; an edit war does not consist of merely one edit.

By definition, an edit war refers to 2 editors making back-and-forth edits in an unfriendly manner.

Therefore, this is NOT an edit war. I do understand why you reverted my edit, however your definition of an edit war is incorrect.

Additionally, we have not come to a final decision whether to include Dog Kris or not as a running gag, which is also my additional concern. Elaboratescanner04 (talk) 05:01, 17 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

I will not argue semantics about edit warring. But when I point to a discussion where a decision was made, which shows 3 people in agreement of a change, and you revert that edit without properly discussing it first, that's counter-productive. Edit summaries are not used for discussion and given that there is already an open discussion which I pointed to there is no reason to be using them like that. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 09:25, 17 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
I see, thanks for the elaboration. Elaboratescanner04 (talk) 15:55, 17 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Discussion regarding the plagiarism on the Fandom wiki

I have recently noticed an increasing amount of plagiarism in the abandoned Fandom wiki. Is there anything that we should do about it? Elaboratescanner04 (talk) 05:03, 17 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Which pages? KockaAdmiralac (talk) 09:26, 17 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
It is uncertain, but there are reports of it occurring in a page about the Knight.
The community has also found other plagiarism instances on multiple other pages. Elaboratescanner04 (talk) 15:57, 17 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Robert Sephazon's photograph

Is File:Robert Sephazon photograph.jpg an image retrieved from another website at 1000px, or was it edited to transform it from 400px to 1000px? Just wondering, since the 400px version (here) is the only one I am able to find. If it was retrieved from somewhere else (which I assume might be the case because of the permission license), then that's fine. But otherwise, if the original is 400px, then I think it would be better to leave it at the original quality than falsely increase it, or at least it should be noted in the file summary. Wanted to ask you since you are the image uploader! HylianAngel (talk) 03:49, 20 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Looks like I retrieved it from Bluesky, actually. Not sure if Bluesky upscaled it. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 08:32, 20 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Ah, that explains it, thank you! Yeah, generally the image quality on Bluesky is worse, sadly. Here is my avatar on Twitter and then on Bluesky for comparison.
Twitter
Bluesky
Both are supposed to be the same image upload. But like Bluesky makes it ginormous and also worse. I think we should use the Twitter version since it has the intended quality. HylianAngel (talk) 08:39, 20 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, probably. The Discord version is 956×956 though, and it seems to me like Discord does not do upscaling. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 09:01, 20 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
That feel when Discord-exclusive content. But is that the right link, because it changes in size when I remove the qualifier ?size=4096 at the end.
Actually looks like all of them reduce to 128px, so I'm not sure how you're supposed to obtain the original resolution size info from the Discord developer console.
Mine for example:
https://cdn.discordapp.com/avatars/109846118380077056/51fc1a3d6d5d49037b93a3ffd33df91a.png?size=4096

128 is the default resolution, 4096 is the largest available resolution, when the avatar is smaller than that it doesn't upscale it. I think they just don't serve original resolution info, the user structure doesn't contain it. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 09:39, 20 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Ah okay. I think there's still something slightly weird going on, because my original upload of my Discord avatar should be 300px, but ?size=4096 displays it at 299px instead. Not a huge deal, and I also could be mistaken since I haven't changed my avatar in a long time and it's just 300px in my actual computer folder. In any case, the Discord upload of Robert seems to be the best bet. HylianAngel (talk) 09:45, 20 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Zapper in Cooking Show room

Does this really happen? I know it's datamined info, which is typically reliable, but I entered the room 25+ times to see if the Zapper would appear, and it did not. I could also just be incredibly unlucky. If I could see a screenshot, then I would be no longer concerned, and it would also be cool to see what pose(s) it makes. HylianAngel (talk) 11:07, 20 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hmm, looks like it doesn't. _rand_row actually copies the top or bottom row, so the Zapper is inserted into an array that just gets destroyed. But if it inserted the Zapper properly, and the curtain wasn't there, the Zapper would have their blushing pose. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 11:58, 20 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
"just gets destroyed"
Noooooooooooo
"the Zapper would have their blushing pose"
Ah, neat! Thanks a bunch for the info! HylianAngel (talk) 12:01, 20 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Potential typo in delete reason

I agree with this not being a needed redirect for Kris's page, but I think maybe a typo in the delete reason could be causing some confusion.

"People searching for this are trying to look at which pages contain the words "they/them". Kris is the only person referred to using these pronouns"
"See previous deletion reason"

It should be that "Kris is not the only person referred to using these pronouns." Or that "Several characters are referred to using these pronouns." I know it can't really be "fixed" and only appended to with a new restore/delete, but just wanted to mention it in case it went by unnoticed. HylianAngel (talk) 22:32, 25 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Oh, right. Well now that the page is protected I think it doesn't matter much anymore, I can technically change it in the database but I'd rather not tamper with it that way. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 23:49, 25 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, sent that message before it got protected! Now my message is sort of pointless, lol.
Also mainly I meant you can technically undelete the page and delete it with the corrected text delete reason, or wait for it to get recreated then delete it with the correct delete reason. It probably won't be needed since it seems it was one user purposely ignoring the delete reasons. HylianAngel (talk) 23:56, 25 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Also upon further inspection, the person who kept creating the redirect only did it maliciously for clout purposes. You can see their wiki and Reddit username are the same.

Chinese wiki file issue

The other day, I moved a bunch of Jackenstein's Pumpkin-related audio files to more standard location names (File:Jackenstein's Pumpkin music [voice line].png) and updated the instances of it on this wiki and on the Chinese wiki. But for some reason, some of the files are still nonexistent on the Chinese wiki, as seen here. Not sure why they aren't showing up. Feel kind of bad if I did end up breaking something. HylianAngel (talk) 04:32, 1 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Should be fixed now. On other-language Deltarune wikis, if the users uploading the files are new, I have to refresh a table in the database for their files to become shareable. This is a bug in MediaWiki that I haven't gotten to reporting yet. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 18:49, 1 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for clearing that up! HylianAngel (talk) 23:53, 1 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Request to Add a Font Skin Option

Hi there!

I’m one of the contributors to the deltarune wiki zh, and I’d like to ask if it’s possible to add a font skin that combines two open-source pixel fonts: Zpix and Dtermination Mono. Zpix for Chinese&Japanese characters and Determina Determination Mono for other all letters and numbers, especially English.

Since file uploads for personal use are not allowed, I was wondering if this combined style could be officially added as a CSS skin option, so that users can enable it in the preferences settings if they want.

Zpix Github Page

Thank you so much for considering this~

(btw, you can preview the effect on the Undertale Community Wiki zh! They're already using this font combination for pages. Also, English isn’t my language, so let me know if anything sounds confusing!) 蓝魂 (talk) 01:40, 2 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

I can implement a gadget that you can enable in preferences. But I'll leave to Kumki to decide whether they want that gadget on the Chinese wiki or not.
The Determination Mono font is the same one that we already use, right? How did UTCWIKI add support for Chinese, did they modify Determination Mono to combine with Zpix, or left Zpix as a fallback? I can only see Determination Mono in their CSS.
I'm worried about Zpix's license, because the wiki isn't a commercial endeavor, but not really a personal one either. Can you check with the font author if using it for the wiki counts as educational use? KockaAdmiralac (talk) 02:25, 2 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
Just a quick update — I’ve reached out to the Zpix font author and asked for permission to use the font on the wiki. I’m currently waiting for a reply, and will follow up as soon as I hear back.
Also, just to clarify: I initially thought UTC Wiki was using Zpix, but it seems they are actually using another pixel-style font. Sorry for the mix-up! 蓝魂 (talk) 03:09, 2 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
Good news—the Zpix's author kindly confirmed that it’s okay to use Zpix on the wiki! awa
Here’s the screenshot of the permission, just in case it’s needed:
And, yeah, I’d recommend apply the fonts in this order: Determination mono, then Zpix as fall back. so that  Chinese&Japnese characters by Zpix while English ones by Determination Mono. 蓝魂 (talk) 07:47, 2 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
Hi, I’ve talked to KumkiTAT about it, and they hasn’t replied yet.
In the meantime, I just wanted to ask—regardless of Kumki's decision,
would you be willing to implement this font combination(or only Determination Mono) on the Undertale and Deltarune English Wiki? 蓝魂 (talk) 17:45, 2 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
I can implement this on the English wikis as a gadget in preferences, and link to Zpix in the gadget's description. But tomorrow, I've just finished catching up with wiki activity that I missed in the past week. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 23:18, 2 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
Got it! Thanks a lot Kocka 蓝魂 (talk) 05:07, 3 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
I added a gadget for this in preferences now, how does it look like for you? KockaAdmiralac (talk) 23:30, 3 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
It look great! Maybe change Determination mono's size to 125% and letter-spacing to 0.2px? Would make it a bit more readable😇Thanks again for your work! 蓝魂 (talk) 02:26, 4 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
I've got it on right now, and it actually looks like the same font size as on Hushbugger's dialogue dump. But the small-sized texts like in the infoboxes, italics, and bold aren't as legible... not sure on the fix for that. — Link [ T | C ] 16:56, 4 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
I increased the font size a bit now. How does it look like? KockaAdmiralac (talk) 21:13, 4 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
Seems like a downgrade: both Chrome and Firefox desktop render the the font differently to match the scaling. Chrome doesn't blur, but the letters look inconsistent. Firefox adds a blur so it doesn't look as inconsistent. Somehow, the font still looks perfect on mobile for everything... — Link [ T | C ] 21:26, 5 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
Maybe add a gadget for resizing and letter-spacing? 蓝魂 (talk) 09:45, 6 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

It appears I'm getting different line numbers from you

You're correcting my calls to Template:Cite code by updating the line number. The numbers I chose are consistent with my copy of the decompiled code. I got it by running UndertaleModTool's "ExportAllCode.csx" script. What am I doing wrong? Remex Remige (talk) 23:26, 7 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

The code viewer modifies the decompiler formatting parameters. You can check the code dump to find the correct lines to use in the template. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 23:28, 7 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. I used the code viewer's "ExportCodeFormatted.csx" and now my version of the code matches the one in the code dump, as far as I can tell. I am double checking the line numbers with the ones on the code dump and there doesn't appear to be any issues. Remex Remige (talk) 18:07, 8 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Access levels of Temporary users

I see that Deltarune Wiki:Users describes the access level of Temporary users. Since the “Users” section mentions discussion access, could we add a note stating that temporary users can “participate in talk pages on the wiki”? This would make it clearer.

(sorry for my poor grammar , English isn't my first language:( Ygr (talk) 17:04, 17 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

It's sort of counterintuitive because talk pages are not directly linked from wiki articles - we try to link to Discussions tags wherever possible since Discussions are a more user friendly discussion platform. But I can see this being a much more useful note on other language wikis so I added it now. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 22:14, 17 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Spamton association with Pushing Buddies

Happy holidays! Writing this for when you’re free.

I’d like to request my edit 112653 to be placed back. I’m sure Pushing Buddies is associated with Spamton, and that mentioning it doesn’t go against the “Speculative content” policy.

My argument is a little long, though, and I didn’t want to spam you here. It can be summarized to:

  1. Yes, there’s no Spamton leiftmotif nor any association of him in the scenes apart from that.
  2. But Spamton associations have already shown up in Tenna’s TV World & with Tenna.
  3. The Pushing Buddies attributes being Spamton-related follows some other patterns in Tenna & Spamton references to each other (and, as angry ex business partners, they reference each other a lot).
  4. It’s really not hard for Toby Fox to write a simple song with the constraint of trying to make it Spamton-associated.

I considered bringing this up in the wiki discussions, but realized it might be rude not to discuss this with you beforehand (I'm new, I don't know the norms here). If you don’t think that’s persuasive, would you mind if I bring up the full argument there for the others to decide whether we can mention the Spamton association in the Pushing Buddies page? RabbitEarSquash (talk) 16:03, 23 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

You can bring it up in Discussions.
Length of the song and BPM are not exact numbers. The length of tvromance.ogg is 20.66s. The BPM was determined by wiki users, and is generally an approximation. Combining dubious numbers like this isn't going to lead to anything conclusive. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 22:27, 23 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Well, the length breaks my entire argument if the length is really 20.66. Why wasn't it written that the length was 21 or 20 seconds? RabbitEarSquash (talk) 22:36, 23 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Wait, it's 19 seconds in Spotify. But where did the 20.66 come from? RabbitEarSquash (talk) 22:39, 23 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
I checked the output of exiftool on the tvromance.ogg file, and it approximated it as 20.66s. Checking some other tools, they report the length as 19.793812s. Music distribution platforms have different lengths. YouTube Music has a different length from Spotify. We generally use the length from Bandcamp.
That is to say, this length is not at all definitive. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 22:52, 23 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for checking. I've tried the BPM tapping-beat estimate myself without looking at the screen in case there's some crazy shipper trying to force their own headcanons, and so far I've been getting a steady 97, so at least the BPM is accurate a good estimate.
I'll bring it up in the Discussions when time permits me. RabbitEarSquash (talk) 22:59, 23 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

the Item ID page should exist

I know the information of each item and all the weird effects of the system are listed on each item's page but I really think there should be a unified page for it. Without already looking at dozens of pages it's unclear what's up with all the different kinds of item IDs and what kinds there even are. I know it might be pointless to have a page for every internal variable (probably the same reason why there isn't a page for SAVE file structure) but still I believe there should at least exist a central page listing IDs of all items.

Thanks in advance for getting back to me on this, I may not be able to respond with this same user ID because I'm using a private browsing window. ~2026-898345 (unregistered) (talk) 11:28, 1 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

I feel like information on what kind of item IDs exist can be explained on Items. We avoid pages with overly technical information in general because it's not quite within the wiki's scope (which is also the reason why we don't document save files from a more technical standpoint than needed by an average player).
It was proposed to make a separate wiki for technical Undertale/Deltarune documentation. We haven't done this yet, though. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 20:10, 2 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
Oh gosh I'm so sorry, I'm gonna be honest with you, I did not know that page existed as I've only found Category:Items while browsing and never seen that before, even while looking for it (though I guess I haven't searched the name directly). I guess I'll update that. ~2026-329154 (unregistered) (talk) 03:13, 3 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Should we have a page for the unused Rock Video chart editor

I feel we should have a page for the unused Chart Editor as I feel it is quite notable as it’s a whole unused mode and having just a mention in trivia on a page I feel like isn’t enough. I don’t think it is too technical even if it is unused, as it isn’t file related and is like City Board and Rude Sword where they are unused but aren’t file related. We even know the reason on why it was made as it has been mentioned by the dev who made it.

I’ve even been working on a user page for it for a while which I’ll put here if you want to see it: User:MMK-001/Chart Editor. MMK-001 (talk) 03:02, 7 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Toy Train Page

Hello, I wanted to apologize for making a page about the scrapped toy train mechanic since I noticed it got replaced with an earlier draft, I wasn't aware of the existance of that draft. Aria39 (talk) 20:52, 18 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

It's alright, I wouldn't expect you to. @MMK-001 had that draft for a while but we weren't sure which unused mechanics were noteworthy to cover. I guess this one was mentioned by an official source and has a bit of detail to it, so it's probably fine! KockaAdmiralac (talk) 21:16, 18 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
