I build digital things, like this wiki!

Couple of wiki questions

Hey there, I have a couple of random questions regarding the wiki.

  1. For some reason, specifically while editing pages with source editor, Ctrl+Y (redo) doesn't work even though Ctrl+Z (undo) does. It's made editing a little bit more difficult due to progress loss and trying to remember/restore the lost info.
  2. For some reason I can't view tables of contents on either desktop or mobile. I don't know if it's a wiki setting or something I'm missing, but it makes pages a little bit more arduous to navigate.

Just curious if these are things that will be fixed in the future or not. Love the wiki otherwise! HylianAngel (talk) 05:46, 18 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

  1. Are you using syntax highlighting? Does turning syntax highlighting off fix this issue?
  2. The table of contents should be under the icon with three dots and lines, next to the page title. When scrolling down, it is at the leftmost part of the header. Yeah, our measurements show this isn't a very frequently used button so we'll likely move it back into the content.
Cheers! KockaAdmiralac (talk) 21:47, 18 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
  1. Yes, it's specifically while in syntax highlighting mode, which was defaulted to on when I started editing the wiki. Turning it off allows me to use Ctrl+Y again. I like the syntax highlighting mode though, so it's a shame that Ctrl+Y doesn't work with it for some reason. Thank you for the info so I can choose which feature I want to keep handy.
  2. Ohh thanks! I see it now. It's visually "cleaner," but I think I like being able to see it all the time without having to click on it on it to make it visible, the constant clicking I think might be annoying. I don't know if it's easy to implement, but maybe if it could be optional in user settings, that might be better. (There's waayy too much clicking in its current form, because not only do you have to click it to reveal it for each page, but also you have to click again if you want to reveal the sub-headings dropdowns as well.)
Thank you for the help! HylianAngel (talk) 21:55, 18 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
Looks like redo in CodeMirror is Ctrl+Shift+Z instead of Ctrl+Y. There's no native way to rebind CodeMirror keybindings as far as I can see, there would definitely be a way to rebind that shortcut using custom JavaScript but I'd have to dig into the code to figure it out. Thank you, Ctrl+Shift+Z works for me, so I'll just use that. HylianAngel (talk) 23:07, 18 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
Sorry I wasn't able to see these messages before Kocka did! I think he answered everything, but let me know if you have any other questions or issues. I'm glad you're loving the new wiki! Thanks for contributing! Gil (talk) 15:19, 19 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
