Susie's healing

From Deltarune Wiki
(Redirected from OKHeal)

Hey Kris, lemme show you my ultimate healing!

Susie, Chapter 2

Throughout Deltarune, Susie learns a spell which goes by many names: UltimatHeal (JP: ウルティマヒール UltimaHeal), UltraHeal (JP: ウルトラヒール), OKHeal (JP: OKヒール), Heal (JP: ヒール), and BetterHeal (JP: ベターヒール). It heals one party member by various amounts depending on the Chapter. In the overworld, Susie casts this spell by shooting a small green bullet at her intended target.

Main story

Chapter 2

In Chapter 2, Ralsei offers to teach Susie how to use healing magic after she gets hurt in Cyber City's Trash Zone. This results in Susie learning UltimatHeal, which she demonstrates on Kris when they reunite at the ball-toss stalls. In Queen's Mansion, Susie attempts to heal Lancer when he collapses, to no avail.

Chapter 3

In Chapter 3, Susie's UltimatHeal is upgraded to UltraHeal, and its healing power increases per usage.

Chapter 4

In Chapter 4, Susie's UltraHeal is upgraded to OKHeal, which she attempts to use on Kris after they collapse in the Dark Sanctuary. When Ralsei arrives, he quickly dismisses Susie and uses Heal Prayer on Kris, which fully heals them. Discouraged, Susie's OKHeal downgrades to Heal, as she refuses to use it.

As the party progresses through the Dark Sanctuary, Susie can be seen practicing her healing magic. However, when she offers to heal Jackenstein after his battle, she is once again dismissed by Ralsei, who attempts to heal him on his own. Susie declares to the Old Man that she plans to quit healing magic. The Old Man challenges her to use her healing magic on him, which causes her to inadvertently heal Jackenstein. This causes Heal to change back to OKHeal.

Susie shoots OKHeal at the Hammer of Justice during his battle and intentionally misses, providing a distraction which she uses to claim a strand of his hair and ending the battle. This causes OKHeal to be upgraded to BetterHeal. If this battle has not been completed by the time the Dark Sanctuary Fountain is sealed, the upgrade occurs when battling the Sound of Justice in the 2nd Sanctuary. During the battle, Susie uses BetterHeal on the Sound of Justice, which exposes its true nature as an animated statue.

At the top of the Titan's tower in the 3rd Sanctuary, Susie uses BetterHeal on Kris and Ralsei, which fully restores their HP.

Mechanics

Susie's healing costs 100% TP in Chapter 2, 90%-85% TP in Chapter 3, 85%-80% TP in Chapter 4, and 80%-75% TP after beating the Hammer of Justice or encountering the Sound of Justice. It restores a varying amount of HP per Chapter to a single ally.

In Chapter 2, the spell heals Magic+1 HP, up to 15 with the Devilsknife, Dealmaker, and a RoyalPin or B.ShotBowtie equipped. In Chapter 3, the healing is equal to Magic1.5+5, and in Chapter 4, the healing is equal to Magic5+15, with the multiplier increasing to 7 after obtaining BetterHeal. During the battle against the Hammer of Justice, its healing is equal to Magic2+22.

Starting in Chapter 3, the spell increases in power and decreases in TP cost as it is used.

Name of spell Obtained Base stats Improvement Maximum improvement
UltimatHeal Chapter 2 - Cyber City - Heights TP Cost = 100%

N/A N/A
UltraHeal Chapter 3 - Initial TP Cost = 90%
Healing=(Magic×1.5)+5
-1% TP cost per use
+1 HP per use

Maxes out in 5 uses
TP Cost = 85%

Heal Chapter 4 - After dismissed by Ralsei
(reverts to OKHeal after Jackenstein fight)
TP Cost = 102%
(While this spell is unusable in normal gameplay, if the game is hacked to allow using the spell in battle, Susie casts OKHeal.[2])
N/A N/A
BetterHeal Chapter 4 - After beating Hammer of Justice or encountering Sound of Justice TP Cost = 80%
Healing=(Magic×7)+15
-1% TP cost after using 1, 4, 7, 10, 13 times[3]+2 HP per use

Maxes out in 15 uses

(Previous improvement uses of UltraHeal and OKHeal are counted)
TP Cost = 75%
Healing=(Magic×7)+45

Any uses performed in Chapter 3, up to five uses, carry over to Chapter 4. These count toward the 15 uses, and the spell's stats are recalculated as if all transferred uses originated in Chapter 4. Once BetterHeal is obtained, the cost drops by 5%, but progress on improving it still counts and can lower the TP cost to 75%. This progress can be measured from Susie's "healing" stat that appears starting in Chapter 4, going up to 45 when fully progressed. The maximum healing stat becomes 30 after the Hammer of Justice or Sound of Justice have been defeated.[note 1][4]

Ultraheal becomes OKHeal at the start of Chapter 4, and is possible to 'train up' at the Castle Town Dojo even before the Chapter's Dark Worlds. However, after Ralsei lectures Susie after healing Kris's bleeding, Susie will refuse to heal with the spell, with the outside battle TP becoming ??% and in-battle TP being 102% until after healing Jackenstein, causing Susie's Heal to revert back to OKHeal and thus become usable again.

After beating the Hammer of Justice or encountering the Sound of Justice, BetterHeal becomes an expensive yet viable healing option, healing more than Ralsei's Heal Prayer at the cost of being significantly more expensive in TP cost. It also has the unique benefit of being able to cast on the same turn as the last enemy is spared (which Ralsei cannot do, as sparing enemies before his Heal Prayer takes place ends the battle without healing), by having Susie heal and then Ralsei spare the last enemy. As of Chapter 4, this spell can heal as much as 185 HP with Devilsknife, Dealmaker, and MysticBand equipped with Susie's healing stat being at 20 (without stat bonuses from defeating enemies, and without a glitch to obtain 2 Dealmakers).

Notes

  1. The healing stat additionally scales with Kris's magic stat, which is always zero and thus has no impact. It is likely intended to scale with Susie's magic stat instead.
