Dark Mode

Hey, I saw your description for your custom CSS, but I'm curious if you are aware you could change the Dark and Light Mode themes through the Gadgets? Also the base Dark Mode theme is largely the same as it was back on fandom.com.... — Link [ T | C ] 03:25, 5 June 2026 (UTC)

There is an option to change the light mode theme in gadgets, yet there is no option to actually enable light mode. The light mode I was referring to existed back in June, after the fork, when I was checking the wiki in the Chapter 3/4 bustle. I recall this wiki having a light mode, and in particular, a lack of support for the light mode in the page elements (infoboxes and whatnot). I am now returning to this wiki and find that light mode is no longer active (when it should've remained activated on my account) which is accompanied by an inability to find an option to enable light mode, I've come to believe it's been removed from this wiki. To that end, it appears I must create my own light mode, of all things. I appreciate you reaching out, but I remain frustrated. TheFlamingX (talk) 04:00, 5 June 2026 (UTC)

The option to enable light mode is under the dropdown menu in the navigation bar that looks like goggles. You might have been logged out if the light mode changed back for you. Aside from that, it is also available under the "Appearance" tab of your preferences. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 04:03, 5 June 2026 (UTC)

Toggling Light Mode and Dark Mode is still an option from the top-right of the navigation menu: it's the glasses icon. Admittedly, after your response, me and one of the users who worked on the wiki themes do agree that the glasses icon should be replaced so that people know it's where they can toggle between Light and Dark themes. — Link [ T | C ] 04:03, 5 June 2026 (UTC)

I've located the point of confusion: I'm using the 2010 skin, which lacks light/dark mode options and is exclusively dark. It appears I'm now forced to pick between light 2022 skin, or dark 2010 skin, and I think I prefer dark 2010 skin. I'll just make a light mode in the meantime. It's not that inconvenient, I guess. Right, Vector 2010 doesn't support themes out of the box, so I recently added support for themes. I didn't know there was someone using it before, because it looked so broken without the wiki's theme applied.

The way you can work around it is to change the theme to Vector 2022, select the theme you prefer under the Color dropdown, then switch back to Vector 2010. I just tried it, and it worked for me.
