This page contains the notes of everything I could find in the beginning of Deltarune. The wiki notes only relevant details to a page and will have a difficult time integrating every bit of information in a meaningful way. Therefore, I feel this page is important, for me at least.

Character Creation Screen

  • Can skip dialogue quickly by holding the SHIFT or X key for everything
  • Probably means nothing since everything done is discarded

Toriel's House (the beginning)

  • Toriel wakes "Kris" up to hurry up.
  • Can run by holding SHIFT
  • Stats show Halloween Pencil weapon and Bandage armor.
  • Items show "Ball of Junk": a small ball of accumulated things. it smells like scratch'n'sniff marshmallow stickers.
    • It does nothing at all except make you feel attachment and bitterness when dropped.
  • Cell Phone calls don't reveal too much..
  • Neither does the room besides CDs under the bed, a computer, and a game console, likely the Nintendo Switch.
  • Nothing to say about the household items besides the snail books, which tell stories and snail uses.
  • Can't go left: left door is locked
  • Kitchen means little, though beware of point-no-return entering right door
  • Enter left door: bathroom, sink has some kind of entirely full "Spray for the Boys"
  • Flush the toilet? Triumphant flushing of the toilet.
    • Flush three times, Toriel knocks to see if Kris is okay
    • Flush 6 times, Toriel gets perplexed from an assumed "bath bomb".
    • Flush 9 times, Toriel threatens plumbing bill
    • Nothing else happens even after 100 flushes
    • Exiting and re-entering the room to flush the toilet again will reveal the same dialogue. Nothing changes.

Toriel's Front Yard

  • Toriel might make it to school in time.
  • Drives off into TOWN?! Guess it's a prequel where humans and monsters lived among before the war.
  • Chara is in school, and Asriel is in university?
    • Mordecai look-alike is a high-achieving dick.
    • Temmie is at least sorry.
    • The egg Temmie showcased is its partner.
    • Reindeer thing is at least willing to include me.
    • Mettaton fatty (Catty) doesn't even give me a sentence.
    • It appears Bratty is very small. Catty and Bratty duo expected.
    • Snowdrake is triggered I did not laugh at this joke.
    • Monster Kid wants to be partners but is apparently hostaged.
  • Uh oh, Susie is here, whoever that is.
  • Lost chalk, susie tasked to get it, Kris tasked to watch
    • Reindeer girl seems to like Susie.
    • Catty says not to die.
    • Bratty wants to take hat off in remembrance.
    • Mordecai is like, "fam be early."
    • Susie said Eg NEVER HATCH, is mean to Temmie that way
    • Monster Kid encourages to stay brave, kick ass, then run and don't look back.
    • The CDs in the house were apparently Asriel's according to Snowdrake.

Outside Class

  • Susie eated chalk, asks if Kris seen.
  • Intimidating walk, but actually fine wants to tell sekwet.
  • Actually, no. Violent. Wuiet people poss them off.
  • Some edgy guitar music. Susie can tell Kris thoughts even without words: chalk = expelled.
  • Susie plans to get expelled for real carnage: Plans to eat Kris' face.
  • Decides not to. Offers compromise that she asks for answer on but gues "don't bother."
  • Choice apparently don't matter. Meta game?
  • A locker is covered in "Jockington Memorabilia"
  • Sadie Hawkman's Dance: Screech at contacting students
  • Crossroad:
    • Go down, "Skip school question", no. No snitching. Go twice, "mum might have a heart attack."
    • Go right, "baby classroom." Twice, "wrong way."
    • Drink from water fountain, "people mouth contact comment."
    • Go up and approach slowly, "frustrated comment about it."

Closet Room Transformation

  • Normal school becomes dark and blue after opening closet. Startles Susie.
  • Kris doesn't want to go in. Susie demon face does, doesn't insist enter both same time.
  • Nothing but old papers.
    • Attempt to leave: Ambiguious threatening.
  • Susie can't find switch. Goes further in, notices abnormal closet size.
  • Conclusion: closet's broken. Goes back, closet door closes.
  • Something demonic happens. Papers floor falls. Both fall.

Miscellaneous

  • Upon opening the game, you have 8 minutes to enter Dark World to get the Wrist Protector. The countdown begins literally when the game window is visible, so being on the main menu also counts towards the 8-minute timer.
