Chapter 5
Deltarune Chapter 5 (subtitle unknown) is the upcoming fifth Chapter of Deltarune, set to release on June 24, 2026, as a free update to the full game.
Chapter 5 was announced to release on June 24, 2026 in a Nintendo Direct on June 9.[1] Later that day, in the DELTARUNE Chapter 5 Release Date Announcement newsletter, Toby Fox revealed that the chapter will release worldwide, on all platforms, at exactly 11:00am EDT on June 24.[2]
Upon release, Chapter 5 will immediately be available to all owners of the paid version of Deltarune as a free update, and Chapter 5 will be included in all paid versions of Deltarune bought after its release.
- In the DELTARUNE Chapter 5 Release Date Announcement newsletter, in a section titled "What kind of Chapter is Chapter 5?", Toby Fox compared Chapter 4 to "dark clouds on the horizon", and Chapter 5 to turning around and watching the sun "before it goes down completely".[3]
- Chapter 5 features the festival, which takes place on a weekend.[4][5] Chapter 4 is alluded to take place on Saturday due to there being no school for the day.[6][7]
- If true, then the location the Forgotten Man is found at may be related to wheat or the act of harvesting it.[8]
- Castle Town will be accessible again. Toby revealed an optional scene centered around the three Mikes in the official Newsletter:
- The FALL 2025 Newsletter has a full recording focused on the Mikes.
- The WINTER 2025 Newsletter revealed another optional scene featuring the trio and Tenna.
- The track
stealthwill be reused for these scenes, after previously being scrapped from Chapter 3.
- The battles featured in the Chapter will include:[1]
- A battle against a pair of Floradinns.
- A battle against Trashy, Nubert and a humanoid version of the little ball.
- A battle against a flower pot-like enemy that covers the whole bullet board with a painting.
- A Kris-only battle against an unknown enemy that uses a bullet pattern resembling that of the Patience SOUL attack from Undertale's Omega Flowey battle.
- The Dark World will feature areas containing a large flower stem that the party slide down on, a pond overgrown with plants, and traditional Japanese buildings.[1]
- The Lord of the Hammer's fifth installment is summarized by the Hammer of Justice as "Chapter 5, The Field of Pink and Gold. The vast garden is charred in an inferno of jealousy."
- Along with imagery depicted in the official trailer, this hints at flowers being a major theme of the chapter.
- The Asgore glass tapestry in the 3rd Sanctuary is internally named as
spr_dw_church_prophecy_boss3. This internal naming convention is shared with the prophecy tapestries depicting Queen and Tenna, who are bosses in their respective Chapters. - Most of the shopkeepers from Chapter 5 onward will use Shop 3 as their theme.[9]
- Seam may use five Shadow Crystals to create something Kris will "quite enjoy".[10]
- The Weird Route is alluded to continue, from Chapter 4's Weird Route ending.[4]
- One of the Spamton Sweepstakes's silence links, deltarune.com/chapter5/ indicates that the significance of Chapter 5's Weird Route may be greater than Chapter 4's, but lesser than Chapter 2's. The page also includes a link to
