Darkness Falls is the 31st track of the DELTARUNE Chapter 1 OST. It plays if the player chooses not to persist after a Game Over, where it is played in its entirety on a black screen.
- This track's in-game file is pitched 80 cents lower than the OST.
- Darkness Falls's filename is written in all caps with the "
AUDIO_" prefix. It shares this trait with ANOTHER HIM, Faint Courage (Game Over), Before the Story, andAUDIO_DRONE. The general pattern of these filenames is shared across several assets related to the introduction and the voice. - In Chapter 1, this was the only track related to the Game Over screen, as the choice to continue or not only plays the same ambient noise that was used in the introduction, Chapter Select screen, and the File Select screen. This was changed in Chapter 2, as Faint Courage now plays on the Game Over screen.
- After the song ends, Deltarune closes on the PC version outside of the 2021 version of the Chapter 1 & 2 demo, or resets to the Chapter Select screen otherwise.
